- Using a dummy to drive in the carpool lane is an old trick that law enforcement is well aware of, but that didn’t stop a motorist in Santa Fe Springs from trying it anyway.

The slowest cars in my experience are usually the Honda CRV and Prius. After that, it is the Corolla, Tesla, and minivans.
No one realistically needs to be going above 70. Unless someone is being born or dying in the car. Nuff said

Every single day I see people in the carpool lane alone all windows down no care in the world. So many crossing in/out over the line also speeding like crazy
Yup and why should they. Police on bikes pass by all day long in the carpool and don’t do anything so they have no fear of any repercussions.

Yep and I’m one of them. My commute is just under 8 miles. I run the car pool lane alone 5 days a week both ways. I average roughly 1 ticket a year. When you consider I run the carpool lane alone, both ways, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year it’s a decent trade off.
Think of it like a subscription service. I pay roughly $400-500 a year to use the carpool alone, twice a day, every week. Can’t complain honestly.

Well, you can cross out of the carpool/HOV lane double lines if there is an emergency vehicle behind you with full lights and sirens. Unfortunately, you can't simply cross back into it once the emergency vehicle passes. You have to wait until the lane opening comes.

Every time I'm running late for work (which is way too often), I use the carpool lane riding solo. I haven't been caught, and I've been doing it for about five years.
@Greymatter-to3th 😂😂😂 Yeah, that will happen. Cops don't care. In their eyes, a traffic violation is a traffic violation. I only get on the carpool (solo) when I'm already on the freeway. I am extremely vigilant for cops and cameras. I know my stretch, but I try not to do it. I really am pushing my luck.

You be caught in the first try if you try this at the fast lane in California. There are cameras in every highway sign.
I drive in the Carpool solo simply because it is convenient .
@joaquinlepiz3858 Dude, I'm from LA (born and raised). Not every carpool lane is fast-track. But yes, if you get on a fast-track lane, you will be caught (if you violate the rules). Even if you have passengers, the box is required in your vehicle. They will catch you.

One time I saw an interview with a state trooper & he said that one easiest ways to identify a carpool lane violator is when they observe the vehicle leaving the carpool lane for no reason.

I’m just curious how the news got involved in this one…
People do not even care about driving in the carpool lane without another passenger. I see it all of the time. I was talking to my the other day as we were driving to work in the carpool lane, we counted more cars with only 1 occupant than there were with 2 or more coming towards us on the opposite side.
I have seen many times as motor cops split lanes next to the carpool that they point out drivers without 2 people and just have them move out, that is not deterring anyone.
He must have tried the Easy HIJAB to cover face ✌🏻😅
This has been happening since forever lol, also carpool lanes here are more slower than normal lanes now since everyone thinks it’s fast and all merge into it

I don't know why Cops give you tickets for crossing the carpool line. It's ridiculous how they make those carpool lines too long without any cuts. They don't even notify anyone at what exit those line will be cut so what about if the person wants to exit the freeway?
