It's a song by Bette Midler. Question : "What is the best way to tell a girl you don't want to get married?" Answer : "From a (safe) distance."
The King of the Hill character is named Boomhauer. I thought of him immediately, once they started talking like that.

FYI - I used to work at a movie theater - the concession money goes to the theater itself. In fact, because the money from tickets goes almost entirely to the movie companies, the concessions is pretty much a movie theater's only source of revenue.
