@@illicitenergy3307 lol sickk, since i posted that comment ive moved on from that system to a klipsch one, and now use Focal products, at the time it was decent but theres better out there (((highly reccomend klipsch The Fives)))
@safcftmtid Maybe, it does have an RCA auxiliary input on the back that is used to hook up the stereo to a TV, so you can get more deep bass for when you're watching movies. Sorry now I'm rambling on, if you can find some type of RCA adapter that can connect to the iPOD dock it would work. However, this stereo doesn't have the interface to actually control the iPOD. I hope this helps.
Yep, I agree, I love the sound this set produces, but I can't change my flipping radio station ! Would U be able to explain please? Also when I bought it (at a second hand shop) the aerial was missing. I'm living in France and would sometimes like to listen to BBC longwave - could U pls show a picture of the aerial that was supplied with the set, so that I can try and find another. When U were talking about the problem with the cd player stopping, we couldn't see which part U were pointing at when you said "you can touch that here". (in fact quite often you spoke about a "button" of some sort which was out of your picture frame. I didn't get any instruction papers when I bought the set. Thanks
@cherob1984 Did you blow all three speakers or just the woofer? If it was just the woofer, now, I'm not too sure about this, but it looks like you may be able to pry off the gray plastic bezel around the woofer. However, it is glued on so it is highly likely that you may break the bezel if you try it, but the screws that mount the woofer in the enclosure are right behind it. You might just be better off buying pre-assembled speakers (or build your own) to replace them.
That is weird. Now when you say that your system doesn't have flashing light, does that include the ones next to the three CD buttons? (they should blink when the corresponding CD is playing.). As far as the writing over the tuner goes, yours may have been made at a slightly later date making your slightly newer so Philips might had made slight changes, mine was made in June of 2001 (although, there is a typo and the years says 2002 instead of 2001). I bought this stereo on October 17th of 2001.
@GmodNeedsHelp You can try burning your MP3 discs using Windows Media Player. Technically this stereo is not supposed to support MP3 discs since it was made ten years ago (the MP3 format not very popular back then) maybe I just got lucky or something.
Thanks for the video. Bit of an old post, but thought I'd ask :) When you turn the power off at the wall (i.e at night time), and then turn it back on the next day - it always defaults back to volume 10! (very loud, and not good when my parents sleep next door). Is there a way to change this? Or do I just have to make do?
Sorry got the delayed response Andy. Unfortunately there is no way to change the setting for the volume on this stereo when its power is restored. I know the feeling, history has caught me offguard with that a few times blaring very loudly out of nowhere when I turn it on. LOL!
Hmm, cause when i put a mp3 cd in(1 that i put my own music on from the pc), it starts playing but no sound comes out, Is it because maybe its mp3? or am i doing something wrong
Adam Morris This stereo goes up to 39 then displays “MAX" when you attempt to turn it up further. I hope answered your question. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. Thanks for watching! 😊

Luis Rammstein Rammvier I assume you're referring to the red light that indicates the Eco power mode and that button is right underneath the power button (on the left hand side towards the top) there is a red light next to it that indicates that mode. Is that what you're referring to? If so, try pressing that button and see if the stereo will power up. Let me know if you need more help.
GoldenSonic08 Hi, vor langer Zeit hörte ich Musik auf meinem Philips C399 Stereo und plötzlich wurde der ECO POWER aktiviert, verbinde ihn wieder und es bleibt das gleiche wie e der Standby-Modus?
Yup, that's normal with all Philips stereos if you don't want it to do it while it's powered off, just press and hold the stop button “DEMO OFF” is displayed that will turn it off.
i just loved mine but i burned it ... I dont have neightbours so it plaid in allmost max for 2 years :D now i use the speakers for my radiotehnika amp and it sounds even better the radiotehnika amp is moded ... my friend tuned it (got rid of most of the russian parts:D)
@aboustable Why didn't skip over that part if you didn't like so much? Seriously, it would've taken you less time to do that then it took you to write and post your comment.
+Gary Mettert That's good. Yeah occasionally mine will have issues changing CDs cause the band for the CD changer will slip. other than that, it works fine. It's getting up there in age though, it's going on 14 years old.
+GoldenSonic08 oh well it still rocks tunes. i have a strange question. can you turn yours on with the remote? it will turn off fine but being turned back on is a no go with mine.
+Gary Mettert Well, the original remote for my stereo quit working about two years ago, it started with not being able to turning the stereo on to CD, then the volume buttons but intermittently not work. No, events and I got tired of it and started looking for a replacement. I found a site that sells refurbished remotes for many devices. here is the link: www.emtcompany.com/philips-rc28243201-remote-control/1011227.html
Great Philips! I have Philips FW C505.

@thesten99 the noise is just the power generator inside when it's on standby

I replaced the band's with rubber bands.they dont last long but it worked for me.mine had alot of cd player issues.
This system has better bass than Panasonic SA-AK 45, 47, 48 and AKX 320?
Julian Lira Any chance that you could post a video of you Philips FW-C70?
Julian lira Okay, cool. I can't wait to check it out. :-)
my philips FW-C399 is diffrent you dont have 2 buttons "RDS" "NEWS" I am very happy with my 15 year old tower beautiful sound & nice deep bass
How do I put the wires for the speakers back into the radio?
How do you play your own music. I wanna play my music from my phone but i don’t know how too
@mikeb1444
I like the VU meter so I know I don't clip the incoming signal.

These are awesome systems. I have an FW-C555 and it's pretty good. Too bad it doesn't match the look of my house or I'd put it in the living room.

Hey I was wondering how do you set up your aux on this device. I am having trouble with mine.
@justjahzee What model is your stereo?
Does anybody know how to take the model off echo mode that is sitting there telling you everything else about

Thanks for the reply. Amazing they don't have a RAM battery that stores that option. Ah well, will just have to remember to turn it down lol

Nice! How long have you had yours for?
+GoldenSonic08 bought it at a yard sale last year. when I opened it up the band's were loosely attached. most likely age. but so far so good. :)
