From the "More Than The Music Podcast Episode 41" featuring MercyMe.
Bart, Barry, Mike, Robby, and Nathan from MercyMe share what song began as a bad day for Bart, why they recorded an entire song in one day, what made them feel like kids while making the album, how the first song Mike and Bart ever wrote together was for a school project, and why they decided to call the album "Lifer" after already settling on a different name.
"More Than The Music" is a weekly podcast hosted by WAY-FM Evening On-Air Personality, Justin Paul. Each week, hear the stories behind the songs of your favorite Christian artists.

keep doing the interviews bro. i'm an older buck who got involved with CCM back in 1987. never knew it existed until then. have done sound reinforcement for a VERY long time now and have been blessed beyond measure by getting to see the best of the best in CCM over the past 16 years in the festival circuit up and down the east coast. i also do CCM radio here in Maine and have done so for the past 16 years as well. man, has it EVER changed!. only the Lord knows where it will end up!. would love to chat more via e-mail. my add is lron_us@yahoo.com. God bless.

Not a religious person at all but for some reason, I love this band. Their music speaks to your soul

Scott, I love them as well. I have seen (in my lifetime) Sting, Jimmy Buffet, Indigo Girls, Spin Doctors, Joe Walsh and Glen Fry... By far MercyMe has been the loudest band out of all. Not so loud I can't take it just an overwhelming sound and quality. Bart can really sing. I hope you still listen to them in addition to other Christian bands. There are quite a few goods ones. Chris

I don't like the word religion. I have had so much supernatural encounters with the spirit of Yeshua(Jesus/Yahweh) that he's too real to be a religion to me. He says seek me and you shall find me if you seek me with all you're heart.
