  • By doing the upaayam and nothing further, we become krtha krthyan, seyyavendiyadhai seidhavan. The pradhaanam here is aathmaa. Aathmaa will be always with sareeram here. In kaivalyam, aathmaa will be by itself. In vaikuntam, the aathmaa can be by itself, or when necessary take up a sareeram, and other ones as desired (not karmaadheenam).
Even after bharanyaasam, do we still not have deva kadan (to be cleared by yaagams), rishi kadan (to be cleared by veda adhyaayanam), and pitru kadan (to be cleared by begetting santhathi)? Nitya karmas when not done will incur paapams, so how can we be nirbharan.
One who has take sharanam of sharanyam naaraayanam loka gurum (guru = removes agynaanam of deva, rishi and pitrus that prapannaas are beholden to them), in sarva prakaarams (ie without anya prayojanam), such a prapanna: - na kinkaro naa yam runee (he is not a servant of and not indebted to), deva, rishi, bhoothaathma ... pitrunaam. He doesn't have kadan to deva, rishi, pitrus etc. Because He is in all and all are in Him, when we take sharanam of Him its like we have attained all. However, just like varnaashrama dharmam is tied to this sareeram we should all nitya, naimittika karmas even if it includes aaraadhanam of other devathaas: One who does aaraadhanam (ye yajanthi) of pitrun, devaan, braahmanaan and agni, they only do aaraadhanam of vishnu who is antharaathmaa of sarvabhoothams (vishnumeva yajanthi). A raja wears clothes and aabharanam on top, but those garlands, scent etc that are offered are only for preethi of the raja and not the clothes of the raja even though they may be offered on top of those. So by doing the karmas knowing this, we will get payan of purushaartham, and be krthaarthan.
