This video demonstrates the installation steps of Diode Dynamics SL1 LED Headlight bulbs on a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The SL1 LED Headlight bulb is engineered to perfectly mimic your Sierra's stock beam pattern while being FAR brighter and more focused. Thank you. I was able to replace mine by just poping off the driver's side trim and move it enough to remove the light fixture.
For anyone watching this is a great time to upgrade to a different style housing if desired as well as install load resistors, if you want to swap only bulbs all you do is reach behind the kight to swap highs and lows. If you can contort your wrists and small hand the turn signals out too do it.
If i have already managed to change out the halogen h11 lamps several times without dismantling anything, why would i dismantle the upper shroud and remove the lamp assy?
This is a general guide for those who have not installed these lights before. If you have a better way for installation, you are more than welcome to use that method!
I didn't have to remove the middle whole trim.
I had too and that was the longest part imo
Yeah it's not necessary once you Yank it away from the corner of the fender and all you have to do is push down on it and that gives you a straight shot to that bolt
Just started on my 2009 truck doing some mods but that bottom trim piece beneath the grill will not come off anyone got tips?

You just have to pull the corner part of it out you don't have to pull the whole thing.it. It doesn't come out super easy but it will come out and it wont break
Just pull the area around the light and bend it out of the way
After all that, I'd replace all the bulbs whether they needed it or not.

Why would you make it so that the connectors could be installed backwards?
Hey there! This is the plug design from OEM manufacturers. We simply make the connector that fits. Thanks for checking them out.
Do you have the led bulb placement in an up and down position or sideways position? 2012 Sierra.
It's in a side-to-side position. This way, the light bounces evenly off of the reflectors., much like the stock bulb.

low beam is H11 what about high beam? is it 9005 or 9012 ?
Hi Sam! The high beam is size 9005. Unfortunately, our SL1 will not fit inside the housing in this location.
Do you offer a high beam ?
For these particular model trucks, we do not. This is one of the rare cases where there is a fitment issue for the high beam, which is why you do not see a listing.

@@chillicobra, ours are rated at a 5700K white color. We would recommend checking what the color temperature is on the other bulb.

@@sambulucci Probably a little late, I just popped out the air box. No body panel removal necessary. Way easier than what this guy is doing.
I have to look at mine again but my battery is on the right side up by the firewall.
