I think this started way back. I've watched all seasons all over again, looking for signs as a true investigator. In season 8 James actually opens up to Sandoval about his lack of trust in Rachel, James is actually suspecting that something isn't right. And in that conversation Sandoval said something really strange to James. He litterally said "Raquel is not going to betray you" and quick follows up with "And I'm not going to betray you either" why he looks reeeally guilty of something. Why on earth did Sandoval feel the need to clarify that HE would never betray James when the subject is about Raquel potentially betraying James? That's so strange. Sandoval really looks guilty of something as he says it too. And this is from bloody 2019! At the same time Raquel cuts her hair short just like Ariana just did, a haircut that Sandoval always said he loved. I really think this has been an on and off thing for years, and that it became more as the time went by.
I've mentioned that..I think James replaying that loss of mentor hurts thinking honestly relieved to not be with a woman capable of betraying entire friendships..Leaves due to triggers
Even at the reunion Schwartz was like “Tom please tell them” and Sandoval barely spoke up to defend him. He left him out to dry. He’s truly a horrible person

And Schwartz is the only person who has had Sandoval’s back. And Schwartz was like their affair middleman letting them either use his apt or keeping watch on Sandoval’s phone. Sandoval is a horrible friend. I hope Schwartz distances himself from him. And the way he told him on the finale “just stay off social media.” No empathy for his friend who got “cancelled” bc of his actions.
I never had friends like this… not even family has ever been this kind and supportive… very telling to Ariana’s character that she has such supportive kind friends in her circle
@@nettiea9384 I'm really sorry you don't have, as I understand your post, a loyal caring family or group of friends, please don't internalize it as if it's your own fault, you don't decide which family you are born into and you will find it extremely difficult to change the people in it, so don't try and friends there may be a myriad of reasons why you don't have a stable carring and loyal friend group I don't know you, so I can't give you advice, but since you immediately see what kind of people Ariana's friend group consists of shows you have empathy and emotional intelligence, which is one of the most important things to have to build human relationships, so i think you will make wonderful friends and you yourself are a good friend and maybe one day you will also create your own family 🤍

This was a fantastic episode. A BIG thank you to Brad for sharing all that he did. It's a reminder that "Scandavol" is more than the latest scandal to dominate pop culture, and gave real examples of what it means to be present for a friend in a time of crisis and how important it is to allow your friends to be there when you need them. Ariana is where she is in part due to the support of Brad and the rest of her circle.
Ariana has an amazing support system. I don't think she would be healing in as healthy of a way if she didn't have the people she has.. she's been betrayed in the worst way but she is very lucky to have those core people who care SO much about her to literally make sure she was never alone and that she was eating and all that ... If she didn't have them and just isolated the way she probably instinctively wanted to... I don't think she would be embracing the opportunities that she's been given... And would probably be dwelling in the pain and possibly not even had told anyone and still be with Tom. Idk.. I just think her friends made the difference between healthy healing and a deep depression
It makes sense that Sandavols kindness has always been self serving. Think about him being in Jax’s wedding, I think someone would typically be hurt to be removed from being a groomsman and put back last minute. But he was unfazed because the plan was back on he got to perform. He was the best man with tampons for the bridesmaids, umbrellas for the guests etc. Was that to make Jax day easier or a way to centre himself and make HIM look good.
The interview would have been so much better if Nick had expressed his opinion a little less and let Brad talk more (at least allow him to answer questions without going on and on). By the time Nick stops, the initial question was lost.
THANK YOU. His fiancé would have conducted a way better interview. You could tell she’s actually seen the whole series, Nick said he only watched the S10 reunion and the S2 reunion. He obviously didn’t do his research and has poor interviewing skills.
This is only my 2nd time watching this podcast and I said the same thing about Charli's interview that I could only get through a little bit of it. Very disappointing.
The downside of Longford content. There is still a need ask succent questions, even if you have 2 hours to fill! And you can still edit guys, cut the third and forth reframing of the same question out!

Nick glossed over cuz he didnt understand the implications but in Part 1 Brad was saying the Sandoval and Schwartz PLANNED and CREATED scenes to set up on camera that Sandoval and Ariana's relationship was bad. Schwartz HELPED Sandoval set that up. Nick heard that and went into was Rachel's scene with Ariana at finale planned as well. That was Rachel fishing for info. TOTALLY different than how Schwartz helped Sandoval execute his "plan."
Right!!! Even before Brad said anything those scenes felt forced and over dramatize. I think the affair was happening much longer than they are saying.
It was 100% apparent that those scenes, like the food truck scene, and the scene where Sandoval was DESPERATELY trying to convince Ariana that SHE found him irritating and stupid, etc. were COMPLETELY setup & thought out & practiced beforehand by Sandoval (& Schwartz at least w/ the food truck scene) to twist the narrative & attempt to make Ariana look like the bad guy in the relationship & give Tom an “excuse” for breaking up with her…he had a plan in place for a LONG time. He wanted him & Rachel to be the new, hot couple next season, and keep his beloved high ratings he’s so obsessed with. Beyond disgusting.🤢
We had a similar group when we were in my 20’s & early 30’s. We vacationed, partied, went out to dinner & dancing together as a group. A very happy time. This is why this betrayal hits so hard with me. I can’t imagine how we would have handled one of us having an affair with anyone else in the group!
I personally believe that the m, “big secret,” at part 3 of the reunion is going to be that Rachel & Scando have been sleeping together WAY longer!! I personally believe that they started sleeping together back when she was with James and THAT’s why she left James!! Last years reunion Rachel said that she hadn’t slept with James in over a year.. then at this reunion, idiot Rachel says that she, “wanted to know what it felt like to sleep with someone you love.” I think that’s why she, “ all of a sudden didn’t think James was her soul mate.” And finally, she’s admitted on her own, AND James has said that she was a, “fan of the show and a big fan of Sandoval,” WAY before she got on the show!!’ Ariana deserves SO much better than 🗑️ bag Tom !!!
I think that scenerio is accurate, I too believe the affair has gone on for longer than they are admitting to.but I dont think that is all of it as in that is the whole reason for the reveal, its a factor for sure. Sandoval manipulator mustache worm of it all, is noticeably trying to paint James in a negative light in this episode. Heres the guy who stoood up for James at the height of his drinking fallout, heres the guy that paid for and helped plan his wedding proposal and he now wants to gaslight James and his behavior because why???? He wants no sympathy for James, not from Lisa not from Andy and not from us. Because Mustache worm of it all suspects this time line is going to come out (and it will) and it makes worm of it all that more of a POS because that timeline shows how he manipulated the entire cast and debunks all the unwavering support of Jamesś sobriety and debunks any real friendship with James as it becomes clear Worm does all of this for show (like Jax said) to make himself look good and the endless stroke of the worms ego. and for no other reason. Now that this image he want to portray is pretty much exposed as a fraud, Worm of it all is already laying groundwork to gaslight James behavior before this comes out so that worm can deflect from what a POS freind Worm has been TO JAMES. This is a perfect example of how (those types) are calculating and set their victims up in order to gaslight them. Rachel did the same to Ariana (but in a different way) with her cringy relationship questions. If this had played out the way Rachel and Worm wanted...the next step would have been Rachel and Tom throwing her answers to those questions in Arianas face.
I have watched so much content on this topic and this was a truly great interview. Brad seems like such a nice guy and such a good friend and gives a real insight into their inner circle. Love Nicks interview style too. A great watch.
I loved watching this. Listening to the call was like a flashback to myself 2 years ago. It validated all my uneasy feelings with exs crossing boundaries, always listen to what your body is telling you 100%.

Lala has long disliked Sandoval and saw him for who he is, same as Katie. And Sandoval and said some disgusting things about Lala, again, same as Katie. Lala was happy everyone could see what she and Katie had long seen. And ditto for Rachel. And yes, she was triggered for sure. But its a reality tv show, they are meant to make some noise and be dramatic. Love her or hate her, Lala knows how to make a good reality tv scene.
Part two of the reunion was a snooze fest. Other than Scheena crying and Raquel saying “oh this is eye opening I’m feeling more regret now maybe I should have written her a personal note or something” like girl…. WHAT?!? It took her crying over how much you hurt her to realize your actions affected her??? So freakin selfish
Speak for yourself. Watching Sandoval try and talk to Raquel without cameras. Watching Raquel tell Andy that they wanted to “get their story right”. Watching how little chemistry Sandoval has with Raquel. Watching Raquel ask about the January sex. Watching him evade the question and get in his feelings over shiny green pants. Watching them Sandoval prevaricate on whether to support Sheana or his girlfriend. Seeing Sandoval talk about Lalas contraceptive choices as a diversion. It had juice. You just had very unreasonable expectations.
He was trying to defend Tom with having meds on him like its his own personal business but didn't mind throwing Lala under the bus about having her IUD removed the same day Stassi was announced pregnant. Which is moronic because you don't just "PULL OUT" your IUD it is a serious procedure that doesn't happen on a whim!
Also, IUDs expire after like 5 years - maybe JUST maybe, it was time for it to be removed and she's like 'eh I'm engaged, it's painful as hell to take out and put a new one in and I'll probably be taking that new one out in a year to try for a kid so might as well just leave it out - it wouldn't be awful if I got pregnant because I'm engaged to a loving partner" like so so many women do.
And so what if she had her IUD removed. Her interview with People magazine at the time said the three girls had a pregnancy pact. They wanted to go through the process together. And even if they didn’t have a pact, you’re allowed to be inspired to have a baby when you see your peers taking the leap. He’s so lame.

We’re going to be stuck at home and we’re only putting it off til the wedding anyway. Lala was alway keen to have a baby, and honestly once she found out her friends were going for it too, that’s just one more reason; we can be in this together. I don’t think it was because she was jealous of Stassi, I think it’s because she was thinking along the same lines as Stassi and in a similar place in her life.
I feel like part 2 was really just a kind of “behind the scenes” look at how Sandoval and Rachel are handling things “off camera” - ex: Rachel grinning while all the other girls were crying and how she talked about how she should have communicated with Scheana (it was disturbing) and Tom blowing up because he wanted to talk to Rachel off camera (they’re clearly shady af and want to discuss how they’re going to lie more when Rachel actually comes into the reunion)
The part where Tom and Rachel were talking in the trailer and she asked about tom and Ariana’s intimacy and his response made zero sense ???? What was that!! And she didn’t seem to question it? (At least they didn’t show a response) that was wild

Listening to Brad describe that critical night when Ariana found out. Brings back all the memories of March 2023. Again. Still shocking after all this time. A year later.
I have been following Brad on social media for awhile now, and have always thought his aura was so pretty and just seemed like the nicest of the inner circle. After listening to this interview I found his aura so amazing and just indeed seems like someone I would love to have coffee with one day. A good interview with someone that seems to be an all-around good guy.
I appreciated how balanced, mature, insightful, and well meaning y’all’s observations were. Thank you. My final observation is that as we age we all become more of who we are unless we are proactive about our growth

Hi Viall Files! This episode was excellent all around! The phone call part in particular was amazing to watch because of the advice & level of emotional intelligence Nick & others provided/displayed. I also really loved how positive this whole episode was overall from Brad discussing how to be there for a friend in need to everyone’s advice & insights on the call.
When Nick was talking about Tom maybe or maybe not having a mid-life crisis I was trying not to scream at my iPad. He definitely is definitely having a midlife crisis. He was touring with his “I have to pay for them to even practice with me” band, he had women flirting with him and offering more. Sandoval being Scumdoval was for sure contemplating his life with Ariana. He now realized there was more out there and Rachel was making sure to be there for the “job” of stroking his ego and playing the part of the huge fan girl. Tom is just a little boy mentally that needs to grow up.
can we just all take a moment and appreciate how good brad looks 🔥 well dressed, love the glasses and the hair 👌🏽 first time i’ve actually seen/ heard him talking and i’m just so in awe. seems like such a nice, genuine person 🧡

Rachel had Valentines Day with them. She knew they were still living together as a couple. Even if they were having problems. She could have asked Ariana. She’s a grown woman she made her own bad decisions.
Nick needs to learn how to ask a more simple straightforward question. His questions are longer than the answers from the quests. He ask like a 5 part question or asks the same question 5 different ways.
I think anyone would be so lucky to have a friend like this. He's so kind and caring and smart. I totally thought the hand holding the coffee though was a prosthetic. It's so white compared to his face! Then I saw it move and I jumped!
Thank god ariana has such a strong and loving inner circle. Dealing with somone like tom can be exhausting and crazy making, and the whole TV thing reminds me so much of my parents divorce. We came home from school one day and my dad had come in and taken every single thing out of the house that 'he' paid for, even tho they owned everything legally 50/50, including the FOOD in the fridge and pantry. It's the narcissist clinging to their control over you and it can be beyond maddening, and painful, and just not rational to the rest of us.
I agree that the stuff that was brought up about James was concerning. Especially the part about smacking the waitress ass and her signing a paper agreeing not to sue. And he didn't deny any of it. But no one wants to hear it coming from Sandoval because everything he says and does is a tactic to get the heat off of him, not because he's really concerned about James behavior.
Sandoval also said he doesn’t go around slapping women on the ass when we saw him do it this season to Raquel behind Ariana’s back. But I get what you’re saying!

It makes sense that Sandavols kindness has always been self serving. Think about him being in Jax’s wedding, I think someone would typically be hurt to be removed from being a groomsman and put back last minute. But he was unfazed because the plan was back on he got to perform. He was the best man with tampons for the bridesmaids, umbrellas for the guests etc. Was that to make Jax day easier or a way to centre himself and make HIM look good.
The advice portion was amazing, it's so nice to hear from emotionally intelligent men
The interview would have been so much better if Nick had expressed his opinion a little less and let Brad talk more (at least allow him to answer questions without going on and on). By the time Nick stops, the initial question was lost.
Also when nicks fiancé asks a question and then he cuts her off and asks a totally different one after talking for 20 years
THANK YOU. His fiancé would have conducted a way better interview. You could tell she’s actually seen the whole series, Nick said he only watched the S10 reunion and the S2 reunion. He obviously didn’t do his research and has poor interviewing skills.

This is only my 2nd time watching this podcast and I said the same thing about Charli's interview that I could only get through a little bit of it. Very disappointing.

Nick glossed over cuz he didnt understand the implications but in Part 1 Brad was saying the Sandoval and Schwartz PLANNED and CREATED scenes to set up on camera that Sandoval and Ariana's relationship was bad. Schwartz HELPED Sandoval set that up. Nick heard that and went into was Rachel's scene with Ariana at finale planned as well. That was Rachel fishing for info. TOTALLY different than how Schwartz helped Sandoval execute his "plan."

I think the affair was happening much longer than they are saying.
It was 100% apparent that those scenes, like the food truck scene, and the scene where Sandoval was DESPERATELY trying to convince Ariana that SHE found him irritating and stupid, etc. were COMPLETELY setup & thought out & practiced beforehand by Sandoval (& Schwartz at least w/ the food truck scene) to twist the narrative & attempt to make Ariana look like the bad guy in the relationship & give Tom an “excuse” for breaking up with her…he had a plan in place for a LONG time. He wanted him & Rachel to be the new, hot couple next season, and keep his beloved high ratings he’s so obsessed with. Beyond disgusting.🤢

We had a similar group when we were in my 20’s & early 30’s. We vacationed, partied, went out to dinner & dancing together as a group. A very happy time. This is why this betrayal hits so hard with me. I can’t imagine how we would have handled one of us having an affair with anyone else in the group!

I personally believe that the m, “big secret,” at part 3 of the reunion is going to be that Rachel & Scando have been sleeping together WAY longer!! I personally believe that they started sleeping together back when she was with James and THAT’s why she left James!! Last years reunion Rachel said that she hadn’t slept with James in over a year.. then at this reunion, idiot Rachel says that she, “wanted to know what it felt like to sleep with someone you love.” I think that’s why she, “ all of a sudden didn’t think James was her soul mate.” And finally, she’s admitted on her own, AND James has said that she was a, “fan of the show and a big fan of Sandoval,” WAY before she got on the show!!’

I think that scenerio is accurate, I too believe the affair has gone on for longer than they are admitting to.but I dont think that is all of it as in that is the whole reason for the reveal, its a factor for sure. Sandoval manipulator mustache worm of it all, is noticeably trying to paint James in a negative light in this episode. Heres the guy who stoood up for James at the height of his drinking fallout, heres the guy that paid for and helped plan his wedding proposal and he now wants to gaslight James and his behavior because why???? He wants no sympathy for James, not from Lisa not from Andy and not from us. Because Mustache worm of it all suspects this time line is going to come out (and it will) and it makes worm of it all that more of a POS because that timeline shows how he manipulated the entire cast and debunks all the unwavering support of Jamesś sobriety and debunks any real friendship with James as it becomes clear Worm does all of this for show (like Jax said) to make himself look good and the endless stroke of the worms ego. and for no other reason. Now that this image he want to portray is pretty much exposed as a fraud, Worm of it all is already laying groundwork to gaslight James behavior before this comes out so that worm can deflect from what a POS freind Worm has been TO JAMES. This is a perfect example of how (those types) are calculating and set their victims up in order to gaslight them. Rachel did the same to Ariana (but in a different way) with her cringy relationship questions. If this had played out the way Rachel and Worm wanted...the next step would have been Rachel and Tom throwing her answers to those questions in Arianas face.

I loved watching this. Listening to the call was like a flashback to myself 2 years ago. It validated all my uneasy feelings with exs crossing boundaries, always listen to what your body is telling you 100%.

Lala has long disliked Sandoval and saw him for who he is, same as Katie. And Sandoval and said some disgusting things about Lala, again, same as Katie.
Lala was happy everyone could see what she and Katie had long seen. And ditto for Rachel.
And yes, she was triggered for sure. But its a reality tv show, they are meant to make some noise and be dramatic.
Love her or hate her, Lala knows how to make a good reality tv scene.
Part two of the reunion was a snooze fest. Other than Scheena crying and Raquel saying “oh this is eye opening I’m feeling more regret now maybe I should have written her a personal note or something” like girl…. WHAT?!? It took her crying over how much you hurt her to realize your actions affected her??? So freakin selfish
The peacock version has good scenes between Sandoval and Ariana… a little fight there

Watching them Sandoval prevaricate on whether to support Sheana or his girlfriend. Seeing Sandoval talk about Lalas contraceptive choices as a diversion. It had juice. You just had very unreasonable expectations.

He was trying to defend Tom with having meds on him like its his own personal business but didn't mind throwing Lala under the bus about having her IUD removed the same day Stassi was announced pregnant. Which is moronic because you don't just "PULL OUT" your IUD it is a serious procedure that doesn't happen on a whim!
Also, IUDs expire after like 5 years - maybe JUST maybe, it was time for it to be removed and she's like 'eh I'm engaged, it's painful as hell to take out and put a new one in and I'll probably be taking that new one out in a year to try for a kid so might as well just leave it out - it wouldn't be awful if I got pregnant because I'm engaged to a loving partner" like so so many women do.
And so what if she had her IUD removed. Her interview with People magazine at the time said the three girls had a pregnancy pact. They wanted to go through the process together. And even if they didn’t have a pact, you’re allowed to be inspired to have a baby when you see your peers taking the leap. He’s so lame.

I feel like part 2 was really just a kind of “behind the scenes” look at how Sandoval and Rachel are handling things “off camera” - ex: Rachel grinning while all the other girls were crying and how she talked about how she should have communicated with Scheana (it was disturbing) and Tom blowing up because he wanted to talk to Rachel off camera (they’re clearly shady af and want to discuss how they’re going to lie more when Rachel actually comes into the reunion)

One thing though is it just me or does nicks questions last forever? Like he’ll ask it but the go on a bunch of tangents? Kind of annoying because I want brad to talk more!

I have been following Brad on social media for awhile now, and have always thought his aura was so pretty and just seemed like the nicest of the inner circle. After listening to this interview I found his aura so amazing and just indeed seems like someone I would love to have coffee with one day. A good interview with someone that seems to be an all-around good guy.

Hi Viall Files! This episode was excellent all around! The phone call part in particular was amazing to watch because of the advice & level of emotional intelligence Nick & others provided/displayed. I also really loved how positive this whole episode was overall from Brad discussing how to be there for a friend in need to everyone’s advice & insights on the call.
When Nick was talking about Tom maybe or maybe not having a mid-life crisis I was trying not to scream at my iPad. He definitely is definitely having a midlife crisis. He was touring with his “I have to pay for them to even practice with me” band, he had women flirting with him and offering more. Sandoval being Scumdoval was for sure contemplating his life with Ariana. He now realized there was more out there and Rachel was making sure to be there for the “job” of stroking his ego and playing the part of the huge fan girl. Tom is just a little boy mentally that needs to grow up.

Nick needs to learn how to ask a more simple straightforward question. His questions are longer than the answers from the quests. He ask like a 5 part question or asks the same question 5 different ways.

I think anyone would be so lucky to have a friend like this. He's so kind and caring and smart. I totally thought the hand holding the coffee though was a prosthetic. It's so white compared to his face! Then I saw it move and I jumped!
Thank god ariana has such a strong and loving inner circle. Dealing with somone like tom can be exhausting and crazy making, and the whole TV thing reminds me so much of my parents divorce. We came home from school one day and my dad had come in and taken every single thing out of the house that 'he' paid for, even tho they owned everything legally 50/50, including the FOOD in the fridge and pantry. It's the narcissist clinging to their control over you and it can be beyond maddening, and painful, and just not rational to the rest of us.
I agree that the stuff that was brought up about James was concerning. Especially the part about smacking the waitress ass and her signing a paper agreeing not to sue. And he didn't deny any of it. But no one wants to hear it coming from Sandoval because everything he says and does is a tactic to get the heat off of him, not because he's really concerned about James behavior.
Sandoval also said he doesn’t go around slapping women on the ass when we saw him do it this season to Raquel behind Ariana’s back. But I get what you’re saying!

Yes someone said it was for Schwartz to rattle his pill bottle so everyone would look at Schwartz instead of Raquel walking onto the stage. It made sense and worked.
Everything was staged with both Tom's and Rachel. EVERYTHING. Then 5 days later, she basically admitted it. They're diabolical calculated TRASH . They just wanna stay in the spotlight and collecting that paycheck. PERIOD.

This is so true. Higher dosages of anxiety medication can make some people feel like complete zombies. Raquel’s lack of emotion could’ve easily been a direct effect from that
