Spent many a happy holiday at Newport in the 70`s, 80`s and 90`s and looking at this video it`s like the land that time forgot, not that much has changed and actually i`m quite glad of that. I remember walking as a kid the back way, on the ocean side, to hemsby. Came out at the side of the pub, picking up ringed donuts 5 for a £1 then playing the arcades with sticky fingers. Them were the days. Great video, thans for the upload.
we moved over here last sept its not changed at all amazing place other than loosing the kids theatre out back of the club its not changed even sat in the exact seats i sat in with my grandparents in the mid 80's not just the same place but the exact seats everyone should go here!!
@@DavePaints. I remembered a small site shop next to the club that`s looks like it`s disappeared now and thinking back the club used to have a kids club on a Saturday morning, must have been the mid eighties. Good times.

You guided tours are so respectful to the thousands of memories that are held from a happy holiday time. I have never been to Newport but the style of a bygone age is worth recording and appreciated by me.
Holiday on the buses..... really nice like time travel I would love to come down & spend a week there NOW.... Thank you so much for these films very informative interesting better than any tourist board rubbish thanks

The trees at 2:30 have been pollarded - branches will grow back from the top of the trunk - if you went back there today, they should have a load of new growth. And, that pontins - comparing it with some of your other videos, looks like it’s still open 😜
Had many a lovely holiday here and Hemsby when I was a child in the 70s and 80s I have probably stayed in all the caravan parks there . I last visited in 2016 we stayed on the Bermuda holiday park. What a great little video... when i stay in the Yarmouth area i'm always just to the south but like to have a ride up and around these places to the north, for me..even though i don't stay there, there always seems to be a special feeling which, i think has something to do with the buildings still being original from an older era and i really hope the owners of these holiday parks resist the temptation to modernise which i'm sure would ruin the atmosphere of places like Newport...

I notice from all the previous comments talking of their memories. Let's hope that that is not what the future of these places is going to end up. Especially as you mentioned Pontins, how are these wonderful places going to come back from the brink and return to their former stature? Only time will tell. All the same thank you for a truly wonderful glimpse of a beautiful part of our island.
I use to DJ at the Seabreeze (Tony the owner was in Gorleston Life Boat team) in late 70’s 80’s Fantasia Disco and spent a lot of time at the Bermuda club watching acts which we were friend with including Peter Colins. So more lovely memories Thank you Tim x
We stayed on the sundowner site about 8 years ago now it was okay, very quiet. We chose rock fish from that chippy for dinner one night but oh my god it tasted awful , not sure if that's how it's supposed to but it tasted of urine so we didn't eat much at all!😂 the amusements kept the kids happy and Hemsby is only a short ish walk away.
Love the walking videos! I visit Scratby several times throughout the year (was there a couple of months ago) but I can see it being quite a while before I get a chance to visit it again :(
