My husband and I are from Richmond, VA. We've been watching many of your videos about various towns and cities in the various states of Mexico. We frequent PV very often, for the love of beach, culture, and of course, the community. It's getting pricy there. Looking into other options. I've loved all the videos about Oaxaca state, from the city, to the beach towns. Very impressive. Also, we're considering visiting our local consulate, for permanent residency, as we want to spend unlimited time there, especially if the U.S. strays anymore further away from democracy, and continues the attack of the LGBTQ community. LOVE your videos! ❤

Thanks for the recommendations! I'm curious how you guys decided to purchase a place in Tulum vs. PV even though PV is ranked #1 on your list? I'm doing research on both cities. Would really appreciate some of your insights ❤️

Thanks! PV is incredibly expensive with condos in the Romantic Zone selling for more than our 2/2 condo in Andersonville (Chicago). When we sold it, we could buy an entire house with a pool in the best neighborhood in Tulum. It’s so much more affordable here, and we have more culture and beautiful beaches whereas PV has more gay nightlife, theater and entertainment. Also, as an investment, Tulum is growing with a new jaguar park, airport and Maya train (coming soon), so a better investment in our opinion. Hope that helps! It’s best to spend 6+ weeks in places to determine what’s right for you and your desired lifestyle and budget!

@@TwoGayExpats thank you for the very insightful explanation! Do you have any recs on where to look for Tulum real estates? Maybe I was looking at the wrong websites but the Tulum properties I saw were quite pricey 😣

@kakabuca our pleasure, we used point2homes to research and then used Instagram to find the project to get more info! Social media for the win!

Just got back from a wild week in Puerto Vallarta, my first visit, but certainly not my last. Stayed at the gay resort Casa Cupula, and really liked the premium room with incredible views over the surrounding tree-filled ravine and ocean, which I was able to enjoy at reduced price due to low season. Found PV to be still very busy; can't imagine how insanely wild the place must get during the high season. It was the most fun I've ever had on vacation!

Surprised and disappointed that the focus was mainly on the Yucatán

6/12 included destinations across Mexico from the Central Highlands to beach towns all along the Pacific Coast. We added under the radar gems like Guanajuato, Zipolite, Puerto Escondido, and even Hierve el Agua outside of Oaxaca. We put a good deal of thought into our list. We also have our home on the Yucatán peninsula, so not sure why its a surprising list 🤷‍♂️

Surprised that it wasn’t more encompassing. I understand that you live in the Yucatán
