  • As he takes us through the New York City home that he shares with husband Nate Berkus and their two kids, 1stDibs 50 honoree Jeremiah Brent (@JeremiahBrentDesign ) speaks with great eloquence and passion about the role of design in his life. Many of his treasured pieces-a René Prou daybed, a 1940s shearling chair, reclaimed floor tiles-were found on 1stDibs, a favorite resource for the designer, who calls it “a hub of inspiration.” Read more about Brent’s work in our Introspective feature: bit.ly/3wJdY2y
    🎥: Chalkley Calderwood
    Editors' Note 5/16/24: The entry tiles featured in the hallway are actually by Paris Ceramics and were not sourced on 1stDibs.

    The "windows" in that kitchen, are about 1 in a billion. (Created or original to the space?) Either way - extraordinary. Jeremiah dreamed of children sitting around a kitchen island, and today they're there. . They have "peopled " their space, its details and textures - with minimal compromise. How dense with blessings all around. Enjoy guys, and thank you for the share.

    Some of you saying it looks like no kids live there, glass tables were very popular and affordable for years and everybody had one at one time so were wooden sofas and these are male high end interior designers whose job it is to be neat and pristine (nate and jer) so you will not find legos everywhere bcz everything they show abt their own home is supposed to be a reflection of their professional work too. It is not jers fault he dreamed big and went after the career he wanted and added bonus met and married a rich man in same said career and is accustomed to a certain lifestyle. He came from nothing and dreamed big and voila! Plus he is not lying older AD video from when poppy was a baby you will see the frst dibbs chair so this is not just a frst dibbs commerc

    • @meliemel2113
      @meliemel2113 День назад

      The children have their own floor full of their own artwork, neon signs, and bins full of Legos. I think that you might be pleasantly surprised at how incredibly beautiful their rooms are given that Jeremiah and Nate let them be a part of the design process and had them choose their own wallpaper, fabric, colors etc. According to them, "It was important for them to express their unique creativity, and it is their favorite space in the whole house." The entire tour can be seen on the architectural digest RUclips channel. It was utterly delightful and I hope you have a chance to see it.

    My worry with this house, which looks great by the way, is where are the kids hanging out? where are they allowed to make mess, play, disrupt things? becasue as someone who grew up with a father in interiors who never allowed mess i can tell you , it fucks you up. Kids need to be able to explore, be dirty, throw things arund and this is a very sterile environment for children. I saw a video where there boy was brishing his hair at like age three making it oerfect and my worry would be hes already being indoctronated with the same sense of need for perfection his parents have for aesthetic which is not healthy in any way whatsoever

    Stop EVERYTHING!!! You started this video with the sign of the Shaka. I live in HAWAII😎. That sign we make with our hands means “hang ten” put all ten toes on the front tip of the surfboard and RIDE THE WAVE. Take chances! Feel the exhilarating chills of reaching shore. Did you know that for the fall session of our Hawaiian State Legislature a bill is before it to make the Shaka the official hand symbol of the Hawaiian Islands. It’s true. In Hawaii we have nothing better to do 🤣 You kinda sound like L.A. or maybe Chicago. Not so sure you are allowed to use our symbol of FREEDOM 😊 If you did grow up here like Bette Midler then by all means spread our Aloha😎. Happy Aloha Queer Eye😅 😎🏖️🏄🏼‍♂️🍍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

    • @charliefual
      @charliefual 15 дней назад

      @@evaperson3976well, at this point in time where JEREMIAH is being becoming part of the cast, none of the original members are unknown anymore, they’re celebs. It’s obvious by your comment that you haven’t watched any of the shows him and Nate have been part of, you’re seeing him all dressed up and showing his house, that doesn’t mean his not “hands on”. If anything, his stepping in the role left by Bobby of doing the actual heavy work of remodeling someone’s home, while you have Antoni making avocado toast, Jonathan taking the person a hair salon and not doing anything, Karamo’s dumb speeches while being completely oblivious to the situation the person is in… and then Tan, completely useless person.
