Exactly. What we're likely going to get is:
- News for like a few games coming at the end of the year, they might not even be great games but one likely will be.
- Reveal of some DLC for Tears of the Kingdom
- A ton of 3rd party games that might not be great.
- Mario Kart DLC news.
- Small highlight about Pikmin 4 since its coming out in July.
- No Pokémon (Pokémon does their own announcements)
- No Tomodachi Life (Thanks Miitopia)
- No Donkey Kong (because Retro Studios is doing Metroid Prime 4)
- No Kid Icarus Uprising HD (Sakurai is doing his videos)
- No Smash News (because the game has been done for a year now.)
We might get a new Paper Mario game.

Honestly, it's so easy to predict what Nintendo's going to do with Directs it's amazing that people are too blinded by hype to recognize it. Exactly _what_ gets announced is another story (except for Pokémon, because again, they announce things for their own announcements) but for the most part it's the quantity of content (and release window) that's always consistent.
Honorable mention: Nintendo fans typing "ZZZZZZZ" in the live chat at every game that isn't Nintendo
