It really is depressing. I've lost already so many people that I've grown to become somewhat emotionless, unless it's something really cheesy or sweet.
Is it weird that this is where I thought Apollo's story felt like it actually started? Because in AJ, while the game was named after him it felt more like he was just taken along for the ride while Phoenix's story unravels more. Apollo just played the straight man reacting to everything around him. But here it actually feels like he has his own story and he's not just there as someone else's story is being told
The greatest version of Apollo's objection. The others don't even come close. That guitar solo at 1:07 just makes a great theme into an incredible one!
Dual Destinies was portrayed as one of the darkest games in AA history. Have a guy who started the Dark Age of Law kill your best friend, and have a courtroom bombed, yeah pretty nutty. But that's the reason this game is so memorable. The game features some returning characters like Edgeworth and Pearls, and you even have one of the main protagonists go against the great Phoenix.
I'll politely disagree, mechashadow. Dual Destinies is about a bunch of people questioning their own morals. The system at large has decided that playing fair isn't worth it, and have adapted Machiavelian principles: The end justifies the means. Nick and Edgeworth are pretty much the only two people with experience who haven't bought into this, and Edgeworth's basically covertly running his own crusade against it. Meanwhile you've got Apollo questioning whether he's been on the wrong side of this divide all along, and Athena becoming convinced that she's a bad person. The thing that's important here is that the bad guys (Phantom aside) aren't really wrong. The Dark Age of the Law has been brought about because the old, non-Machiavelian system has been pretty much proven to not work: Two of the people spearheading it appear to have been hypocrites who didn't believe their much publicized values (Nick, who at this point is pretty much the most famous and best defense attorney in the country, appears to turn his back on seeking the truth by falsifying evidence, and young prosecutor prodigy Blackquill appears to turn his back on the law he's meant to be upholding). The legal community, seeing that the people at the top of their game they were looking up to don't seem to believe in fair play, stop believing in it as well. Not only has Nick and Blackquill's world gone to shit, but they're both *responsible* for it. Yes, the Dark Age of the Law is ultimately ended by them, but it's not them making the world a better place, it's them lifting the world out of a hole that they themselves dug, be it by accident or to protect someone they loved. Dual Destinies isn't only about facing up to your own mistakes, it's about how fickle the general public is, and how easy it is to upset the peace that we've established. In Spirit of Justice we have a completely unrealistic rule being enforced because someone in power had too much power. The people buy into it because reasons, but the appearance of three dedicated defense attorneys from the west manages to turn the people's beliefs against the stupid rule. Not only is this completely unrealistic, it's idealistic: It shows a belief that firmly held beliefs will triumph against overwhelming odds. Apollo's arc (which is the big focus of the game) is entirely focused around embracing his past and re-connecting with his family. Spirit of Justice is a game that doesn't have nearly as much to say as previous entries in the series, which is why I keep struggling between it and Justice for All as my least favorite Ace Attorney game (they're still both absolutely amazing, don't get me wrong). What little it does say is overwhelmingly hopeful: Apollo *can* reconnect with Dhurke and still be himself, Rayfa *can* rise above the poisonous ideas she's been educated to believe in, and Nick *can* time and time again rise above all odds to slowly reform Khurain's law system. The premise may be darker, but a dark premise does not equal a dark game. tl:dr: Dual Destinies is darker because it presents a much more pessimistic view of the world, whilst Spirit of Justice's darker premise serves as a jumping off point for a more idealistic message. Sorry for the stupidly long comment. Thanks for putting up with it if you made it all the way through :)
+masterplusmargarita I just find it strange how you critique SoJ in a negative light when DD does the same thing? The dark age of the law being started by just 2 people? which makes everyone not believe in it suddenly? kinda sounds like rose tinted glasses to me.. you just say it's more believable just because it's local..really? if you want a better story of losing all you believe in and turning your back on the law, Apollo Justice the game has you covered. Again if you want to go with the sides of the law angle, they did it better with AAI to actually show how the characters all struggle against the law many times and not just in one or two scenes. It's really strange..the new Yamazaki team certainly can pull off "Show don't tell" but to me, it felt like they restrained in this games for some reason. Probably as it was their first foray into the mainline series.. sure DD had some great drama but SOJ did it better with emotional drama and higher stakes( not the DC act that was just okay) since we're talking themes..again, SoJ had a more cohesive storyline and theme running through the whole game than DD ever did. @@catboymiles7224 I mean yeah other games have done this worse (aka JFA) but that doesn't mean that it isn't a problem here. But yeah I think AJ should've gotten an actual sequel.
Here's an idea for the next game: It turns out that Bobby Fulbright (the real one) wasn't actually dead. Instead, he was just in a coma but Edgeworth had to lie about this to protect him as a witness. He'll return as a bitter, cynical detective with a new identity, much like Godot from Trials and Tribulations. The 'new' Bobby's main goal is vengeance against the organization that stole his life.
Kapteindood What about the witness protection program? Fulbright had to fake being dead because the Phantom's organization was targeting him. They could literally do anything with the "real Bobby is dead" plot point here.
TheInfernityZero The thing is, it doesn't make sense if Fulbright was still alive. Even though they'd keep him being alive under wraps, the police force would be aware that Fulbright was still alive, and therefore they'd know whoever was out there calling himself Fulbright must be an impostor. Hence they'd constantly be keeping tabs on him, making his murder of Clay Terran and his bombing of the courtroom absolutely impossible.
Kapteindood Who said the police knew? Edgeworth had to law to protect remember? It could have just been the prosecutor's office. No one knew the phantom was going to attack Clay anyway.
It's a missed opportunity to not add this during his cross examination in case 5, we got I'M FINE instead Which isn't bad but it feels missing after case 4

I'll be honest: this soundtrack incorporates a "clockwork" sound. Well, not exactly clockwork, but you get what I mean with the ringing like a grandfather clock. capefeather OBJECTION! I'm covering for Apollo because he's not here. I'M ACTUALLY PHOENIX WRIGHT AND I'M FINE!
Phoenix Wright has evolved into Big Boss.
I'M BIG BOSS AND I'M FI - no wait...
NO! WAIT! I'M NOT FINE! IN FACT I'M JUST ABOUT THE LEAST FINE PERSON EVER!
Your Chords Of Steel be sounding mighty fine.
fuck apollo’s theme is literally one of the best i take no criticism
Turnabout Countdown: MY NAME IS APOLLO JUSTICE AND I'M...not actually fine.
Turnabout for Tomorrow: MY NAME IS APOLLO JUSTICE AND I'M ACTUALLY FINE NOW!
Apollo's theme is just so badass...
The ending was from an orchestrated version of the theme that appeared in a trailer of the Apollo Justice game before the game out
Knightly: OBjection!
Flynch: Ooooobjyyyyyection!
Alba: Hawkbjeckshone!
Justice: OBJECTION!
Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright, huh.
Yew: Objekshin...
DatBlooper99 Blaise: *demonic noises*
WE"RE ALL FINE!!!!!
I don't have the game...
I'M NOT FINE !!!
That is a valid reason to be not fine
Cho Brian
You can save and buy it one day! YOU'LL BE FINE!
infinix610
I'm a poor hobo...
Don't even have a 3DS. lol
Wut...
did I literly just say that...?
( Oh God Why...! )
The guitar is actually Klavier.
can't believe klavier was a guitar all this time
Apollo : EVERYONE IS FINE!!
me : *saves the game in order to prevent any unprecedented situation
God, I love this theme so much!
+Franziska von Karma only a fool would be so foolishly foolish as to not love this song. anyone who doesnt is the most foolishly foolish level of foolishly fools
+Raven6229 Don't take the words out of my mouth, you foolish copycat, or you'll taste my whip!
Franziska von Karma You want copycat? This prosecutor, Simon Blackquill, called his partner "Fool Bright" At all times. And he can sword fight too. You might need to go and whip the fool.
+Raven6229 No, you foolish fool. I'm not trademarking single words like "fool" or I wouldn't be better than...some famous guys here on youtube, who wanted to so exactly that ...
I just don't like it, when someone copies my choice of words 1:1.
Also I totally see, why Simon Blackquill calls that Fool Bright like that... maybe we are soulmates.
+Franziska von Karma ... Ehh? What happened with Adrian Andrews?
APOLLO JUSTICE IS DOING FINE!!
I had to *WRIGHT* that
"Did I arrest the wrong man!?'
Man, Fulbright is such a good character.
@@rbxless Indeed.
Apollo justice remastering is fine!
I love the soundtrack for this game
whoah that ending is so cool
Apollo's story is sad along with Clay Terran
Really one of the most emotional cases in Ace Attorney history.
Wayne Zhang Yes, I have to agree
add on what happened to him in spirit of justice smfh capcom hates apollo
I looked at the picture and found myself opening my mouth while the song was playing.
OBJECTION!
Mah nigga Apollo. Love him and his theme
Yeah. Was listening to it since I just beat it
I get a nostalgic feel when I hear this music ;-;
CHORDS OF STEEL
I'M FINE!!!
Whatever happened to that Jurist System thing from Apollo Justice...?
It's introduced in the upcoming game. Dai Gyakuten Saiban
But isn't the upcoming game a prequel?
Funchal99 A prequel set in futuristic past Japan Angles.
luckjes112 True xD
+luckjes112 Would Los Kyotangeles also work?
Dual Destinies shows it: Apollo CAN work, he was a great character all along.
His game was awful, because the writing was a disaster, but the character of Apollo was never an issue.
Apollo just didn't get the development he deserved. He started where he was and ended exactly where he was. DD gave him a step forward, and SOJ gave him leaps and bounds of it.
The fact that you think the AJ game was worse writing that Dual Destinies is really showing that your priorities are skewed
@@catboymiles7224 Bruh AJ's plot is just the worst. Turnabout Trump sets up a bunch of plot threads that are ignored for two cases, and they're all crammed into Turnabout Succession because they forgot about them in Corner and Serenade. I love this game, but Jesus is the plot a mess.
@@justyouraveragecorgi i find it odd this is a complaint people have specifically with aj, when other aa games have done this even worse?? obvs aj is not perfect as a whole but its just overall still a lot more interesting as a whole and should have been given a proper sequel before dd and soj (which, while not absolutely terrible, were just. not well written, and didnt really feel like follow ups from what happened in aj at all) that expanded on the characters more
@@catboymiles7224 I mean yeah other games have done this worse (aka JFA) but that doesn't mean that it isn't a problem here. But yeah I think AJ should've gotten an actual sequel.
That first note is like, way stronger than the entire rest of the song
Here's an idea for the next game: It turns out that Bobby Fulbright (the real one) wasn't actually dead. Instead, he was just in a coma but Edgeworth had to lie about this to protect him as a witness. He'll return as a bitter, cynical detective with a new identity, much like Godot from Trials and Tribulations. The 'new' Bobby's main goal is vengeance against the organization that stole his life.
***** Yes I have. And the idea was so awesome that it needed to be shared. Especially if any Capcom writers prowl the Tube.
Nah... Retconning someone being dead as being in a coma has already been used.
It's a missed opportunity to not add this during his cross examination in case 5, we got I'M FINE instead
Which isn't bad but it feels missing after case 4
Case 4 And Case 5 is connected to each other, but yes…
Apollo model is not bad but not as flexible as the forth game artwork I really love those.
We really went from "I'm Fine." to this.
I'm Justice and it's fine!!!
i love this sooo much! how they brought back klavier (SPOILER) and his mother's song.. like...woah
Apollo is a real bro
apollo is my favorite character in this game series.
신장개정!
Don't worry, we're all fine!
Goosebumps are stronk.
Proof that standing chimes are needed in more songs! Although this one needs to be brought out more, you can barely hear them.
am i the only that thought of this theme and apollo justice when "fulbright" says "in justice we trust"
Can I get an encore? That ending was near perfection.
Just here to remind you all that we got the AJ trilogy port and now the Investigations duology one is set to come out September 6th. We've fucking done it. We're blessed as Ace Attorney fans.
1:07 guitar solo is great here

POV: You're fine!
I'll be honest: this soundtrack incorporates a "clockwork" sound. Well, not exactly clockwork, but you get what I mean with the ringing like a grandfather clock. And also the guitars, but I'll be frank; almost all of the soundtrack uses a guitar. So in my thoughts, the "clockwork" is what embodies this theme. But I believe the AJ:AA uses this way a little better.
And also when typing this I noticed how angry the attorneys all look. Never noticed it actually. Kill me.
The intro starting off so strong.
Klavier's playing the guitar
whenever you're feeling nervous or stressed just shout "I'M FINE!!!"
Me during Apollo Justice- Okay, this Objection is pretty fine, but not as hard as others
During Dual Destinies- aaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAH
In that case, you're fine too!
I'm Cho Brian and i'm FINE!!!
Wait... I said my name backwards?! God Damnit!!!
Well in japan that WOULD work.....
Zvxman Mcwarrior
*Objection!*
I'm korean.... wait... IT'S THE SAME THING!!!
Brian Cho My real name is also backward!!!
Brian Cho IGIARI! .....das racist. .....
Zvxman Mcwarrior
Wait, how was that being racist again...?
Go off you funky little man
Genius phoenix wright
He meant that the ending of this tune isn't in the actual game, since it's only on the OST CD.
*Casually clicks customize for Apollo*
*A S C E N D S*
Apollo's theme! 🥰
i prefer the spirit of justice version, but god damn, apollo justice turned Im Fine, a song i think is sad enough to be a reminiscence track, and made it his power ballad, then is spirit of justice, he went and turned the regular version of I'm fine from sad to pure concentration on justice. basically what im saying is, complain all you want about the backstories, Apollos arc is great.
Umm, what do I do, _what do I do_?!
*Spoilers ahead! Spoilers behind you! Please be careful!* I know I was not careful enough. T_T
I've been careful, but I've been spoiled by every game :,( I got no spoilers for this game until I read the comments of this ost...
Sorry for bad English
Yoltic Trejo ... spoilers though it’s been years
Dhurke. I was spoiled, but luckily I forgot when that moment of truth came. Dhurke’s death made me cry goddammit
What do you do? Oh, it's simple. You shout "I'm FINE!"
Apollo Justice in AJ: AA: ...ew he's like an angsty Phoenix wannabe.
Apollo Justice in DD: 👁👄👁
APOLLO YOU RULE BEST AA PERSON!
Phoenix Wright ! Don't worry , i'm lurking something with Mr. Incredible templates
I doubt it and actually there is one that was uploaded quite recently.
0:08 - 0:12 why do I hear: Why wouldn't you do better? Why wouldn't you be stronger?
This is mission command! I ORDER YOU TO PAY ATTENTION!!
Actually, this song is fine!
YAS APOLLO
If he's talking about downloading it, that probably means he has no plans of actually buying it.
0:53 to 1:08 is the best part.
