Here we will be building a Cigar Box 50 watt Blutooth speaker. It's simple, plenty loud, portable and fun. Please subscribe to get notified on future projects and check out Sean Hale Woodcrafts on Facebook:

Below is a list of the parts I used for this project.
•TDA7492P 50W Bluetooth Digital Amplifier Board
•BOSS Audio BRS40 50 Watt, 4 Inch Car Speaker
•Gloria Cubana Cigar Box
•2 Cell 18650 Parallel Battery Holder Case For 3.7V Battery
• 2 X 18650 Lithium Rechargeable Batteries
•DC 12V 20Amp On/Off SPST LED Dot Light Round Toggle Switch
•MT3608 DC-DC ADJUSTABLE STEP-UP POWER CONVERTER.
•DC 5.5 x 2.1mm Power Male Jack Adapter Cable Plug
Resonance must be sweet
You can get 4 slot battery sleds for 18650s and get longer battery life. Should run at the same 4.2 volts as 2 cells would. Parallel of course.
Note to anyone buying 18650 cells. Samsungs or LG is the best choice of brand.
Thanks for the tip. I originally was going to use 4 of the 3.7 volt 18650 batteries, in fact you will see at the beginning of the video I had a 4 battery holder. However it didn't fit the way I wanted into this odd shaped box, so I opted for the 2 batteries. Even with two batteries, they haven run out yet.
Great video! Wish I had the skills (and time/tools) to do something like this. If you ever want to start selling them, let me know!
Thanks so much. And yes I will let you know if I starting selling them. I probably will open an Etsy store this year.
Very cool. I have some nice cigar boxes I wanted to do this with. I have several small blue tooth speakers that are rechargeable, and in very small spaces. Have you seen any kits that you would trust in a cigar box?
Thanks for the video! Question about your amplifier board and speaker hookup, since you only connect one speaker would you only be getting one side of a stereo output? Or does the amplifier board have a "mono" setting?
Great question and one I wondered myself in the beginning. No there is not a mono setting, so unfortunately on some songs where there is heavy panning, the sound suffers on this from only getting one half of the stereo signal. I am pretty sure there is a simple circuit that would combine stereo to mono, but in this case I just rolled with it. It still sounds great most of the time. Of course the easiest solution is to just choose a 2 speaker build.
If you have an iPhone you can adjust the audio settings so that it converts stereo to audio. Go to Settings>>Accessibility>>Audio/Visual and enable "Mono Audio"
