I so love that teacup and the silver sugar dish...my goodness. I already have Christmas crafts for next year going on, that I'm storing for a craft fair for later this year. I'm gonna be on the lookout for some Christmas teacups and saucers. Really enjoyed the video. Have a beautiful day.
Us too! I'll have to make my way into the shop at some point but... holding off for a bit and seeing if a snow plow finds its way here before making the attempt! This was a lot of fun and I loved the different looks each 'container' gave them!
Enjoyed watching you have fun! I used to make candles as a teemager. I'm 61 now-time to start again! Question: when the candle burns in rhe vintage silverplate, does the vessel get hot? Seems like it would since it's metal, but maybe the flame is too far away from the edges?
We are never too old to play with new things... or old things made new again!! The candle flame really doesn't get close enough to the metal to get it hot so it's not an issue... as long as you keep maybe 1.5" minimum distance from the wick. You've likely seen glass containers and jars with candles in... it's the same issue... just give the flame enough room!
Yes, absolutely! The wick/flame is more than far enough from the edges. There is a big market for wooden dough bowls of all shapes and sizes turned into candles - but they are crazy expensive. I love the look of my little thrifted wood options in their place!
My Brother-in-law makes wooden bowls, beautiful bowls... out of all kinds of wood. I'm gonna be talking to him. lol Thanks for the video.
You are so welcome!
Fantastic! They looked so good and so easy to follow. Thank you so much.
And easy to make… great for holiday hostess gifts I think.
@@QueenBeeCreations oh 100%, Im watching for that exact reason... stocking stuffers or added gifts.

I think there are so many items you can thrift and turn into candles - they would be lovely and unique Christmas gifts for a craft fair!
@@QueenBeeCreations I agree...many.

How does the metal react after burning a candle in it? Does it change color?
No... I start out with a tarnished silver piece but the wick is in the center - looks the same when the candle burns down/out!
Is it safe to burn candles in wood bowls?
Yes, absolutely! The wick/flame is more than far enough from the edges. There is a big market for wooden dough bowls of all shapes and sizes turned into candles - but they are crazy expensive. I love the look of my little thrifted wood options in their place!
@@QueenBeeCreations That’s great. I just returned from goodwill. Thanks for the inspiration!
