My niece had swelling of the optic nerve when she was in her late teens, I know exactly how stressful and scary it can be! The spinal tap helped her the most and it was a very easy treatment plan. Praying for the same for you 🤍

As someone who has/is struggling with major health issues and mental health I can relate. Even with the healthcare access I have the wait game and the bullshit rule out shit is ridiculous. My family has had a multitude of medical issues this summer, including (but certainly not limited to!) my Dad spending more days in the hospital than out! Bottomline is that thanks to a wonderful support system and all of the prayers that were made on our behalf, I can honestly say that #1, we all survived (and that's not a small thing in my Dad's case!!!) & #2, it would appear that we are all on the way to recovery! Therefore, I've been taking every opportunity to "pay it forward" .... I hope that whatever health/medical issues that you are dealing with are resolved with God speed! My oldest daughter had a lumbar puncture procedure done a little over a year ago. She has had the same symptoms as you minus the brain mass. It’s a very scary situation you are in. I learned the hard way recently, as i was hospitalized, due to me putting everyone else first, and now i am injecting myself insulin daily, after being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. I am also waiting for iron infusions, too. I was off work 2 mths so i could get things under control. I hope everything works out for you. Take care of yourself. Im sorry you are going through this. All I can say is it will get better. Once you have a diagnosis your mental state will be able to handle it more so than not knowing. I have been on a journey down a very similar path as you since 2017. I saw all the doctors… all the “ologists” and specialists… I was first diagnosed with something called Transverse Myelitis (inflammation across the spinal cord) but my neurologist said that was just the initial issue. She said her gut was telling her it was either MS or something called NMO (neuromyelitis optica) which both have similar symptoms but NMO likes to attack the nerves in the eyes a little more hardcore. I had a lumbar puncture (spinal tap here in Ontario) in May of 2022 and was diagnosed with MS but still closely monitored and tested with MRIs every 6 months because she still thinks it’s NMO. Unfortunately with these type of auto immune diseases they have to rule out everything else before they can be sure. Keep your head up…you got this! And lumbar punctures sound really scary and they are but not as much as your mind makes it out to be. If you have had any epidurals for the births of your kids it’s the same concept you just need to stay still longer and your healthcare team will take care of the rest ❤️❤️

I have walked in your shoes a few years ago. Back in 2018 I had the same symptoms. I first found out I had an issue after I went to the optometrist thinking I needed new glasses. There he asked if I had a lot of headaches which I do. This was a week before Christmas and he said I needed to go to a Neuroptemologist asap. A few days later I go in, had a brain ct scan and a spinal tap and was diagnosed with IIH or Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension also known as Pseudotumor Cerebri. Ever since then I have been taking Acetazolamide for the pressure.
Hi miranda.. I have the same symptoms since 2019.. Its called pseudotumor cerebri.. Or idiopathic intercranial hypertension.. The lumbar punch mri and ct scan will confirm this.. Treatment is acetozelamide that is a water diuretic to help remove the xtra fluid.. I am also in Canada everything takes longer.. You have treatment options.. A shunt or Stent.. Neurologist will definitely help with this..

I had a spinal tap due to an eye problem with my optic nerve as well. It hurts, but the pain is over quickly. The worst part? When I did mine, you had to lay still/flat for 4 hours afterwards. I don't know if they still do that or not. That was worse than the pain from the needle. Praying for you, always. 🙏💗

Another name for a spinal tab is a lumbar puncture. I had one about 15 years ago when I was diagnosed with a brain lymphoma n cyst on my obcitipal lobe. I will keep you in my prayers.
Hi Miranda. I am so sorry you have to go through this all…I know wat it is like when they have to take spinal fluid….I did tell you in the past about my back surgeries I think? Well in two of those surgeries my dural sac ruptured and the fluid that came free is the same fluid you have in your brains….I have had some of the same procedures done like you have to but for different reasons. Another name for a spinal tab is a lumbar puncture. I had one about 15 years ago when I was diagnosed with a brain lymphoma n cyst on my obcitipal lobe. I will keep you in my prayers.
Hi Miranda. I am so sorry you have to go through this all…I know wat it is like when they have to take spinal fluid….I did tell you in the past about my back surgeries I think? Well in two of those surgeries my dural sac ruptured and the fluid that came free is the same fluid you have in your brains….I have had some of the same procedures done like you have to but for different reasons.
