This is the best form of hunting! No dogs barking, no engines from bikes or buggys - virtually no sound whatsoever. That first pig didn't have the faintest clue he was in for some punishment! Totally awesome clip :-)

I was about to comment. On the EXACT same line. Mine was no million dollar five star hunting lodges with all wishable amenities. No fancy polished new Land Cruiser bush transport. No entourage of noisy staff making a moer-of-a fuss when you arrive. No back-slapping and bum-rubbing overly photo shopped/shopfixed over reacting congratulations when an animal dies.
Plain. Ordinary. And simple fair play hunting. Which. As Far as I'm concerned. Is in a most riveting class. Of it's own!

Great work Stu. Eradicating ferals and having fun also. It's a pity you can't get a SLR as your kill rate would increase 10 fold. You make it look easy but a shot on the run through a scope is great shooting and most are stone dead. Excellent work, great sport, fun watching.

Hi guys, may I make a small suggestion. I used to hunt duck form a canoe and it was nearly always the paddle movement that gave me away. I cut a peace of plywood about a foot square and used it in one hand as a paddle that never left the water. It worked well for me. Over the years it developed in shape( cut a hand slot in the top) so I held it in the middle and added a lanyard so I could just let it go in the water with no noise and little movement, helped keep the freezer full. Thanks for the content thoroughly enjoyed. Now to look through some more of your videos.THANKS
Thanks for the comments mate. I like that idea. In fact I reckon a split paddle would be good as I could use it as a normal double paddle and when I start to sneak up on pigs I can pull the paddle in half and use it like you say. They call the stroke an 'indian paddle stroke'.

Unfortunately these pigs are feral and introduced to Australia and cause a lot of damage to our native flora and fauna. As an example they walk our beaches and sniff out turtle nests, dig them up and eat all the eggs/baby turtles.
Absolute lucky bugga, at least you can do something fun while in lockdown.

@@HuntingwithStu You know Stu, I was just finishing watching this classic clip and I found the perfect segment that sums up your videos. It's the one minute from 6:18 to 7:18. Begins with you drawing up on a pig you'd just snuck up on and then sending him across the River Styx with a well aimed 30-06 snap shot. Finishes with a kookaburra calling in the distance. So damned Australian! And of course there's the middle part with you out by the dead pig (big sucker too) with kayak in background and you saying it's time to find another while wearing that goofy Australian hat none of you guys leave home without. If you made a movie trailer this would have to be in it. I've got to hunt with you one day even if I sell a kidney to afford it.

Sorry about the late reply mate. I was initially CCOY while B COY were in Malaysia in 81. I was then posted to 4Pl B Coy from 81 to end 83 then Admin Coy in the Gym with Dave Bell and Tom Wall etc to I was picked up end of 87 as a PTI.
