Allocating "more money to the border" doesn't necessarily equate with appropriate action to solve the crisis there.
Politicians (both parties) are working on the wrong end of the immigration issue; It's obvious to me that this is intentional. They only want to talk about the immigrant end, NOT what's bringing those people here in the first place! The “crisis" is that nobody wants to do what is necessary to ACTUALLY stem the flow of illegals into the country: 1) No government “freebies" if you're not a legal resident of the United States, visa holder or citizen. 2) End the attraction for those who are coming to this country to work (without work permits) by punishing the companies that hire them! Raids (by I.C.E.) on companies that hire/exploit the “cheap labor" provided by illegal immigration is no longer happening and it needs to be reinstated, the program expanded, and the fines for the companies that are caught doing it need to be CRIPPLING! The cost of hiring illegals should be so high that companies refuse to hire them for fear that the fines levied will bankrupt them! If said business has government contracts, they should lose those contracts and be barred from getting them in the future. This is a recipe for actually SOLVING this government-created problem.
