CLAIM Your FREE VE Day 75th Anniversary Commemorative Coin

When VE Day dawns on 8 May 2020, it will be 75 years since the guns fell silent at the end of the war in Europe. Years of total warfare and destruction came to an end and millions of people took to the streets to celebrate peace, mourn their loved ones and to hope forthe future, but not forgetting those still in conflict. The 75thanniversary gives us the opportunity to reflect on the enormous sacrifice, courage and determination of people from all walksof life who saw us through the dark and terrifying period. In towns and cities across the country, people marked victory with street parties, dancing and singing. Local reporters were on hand to photograph and record the festivities which has allowed us to create this unique chronicle from the newspapers that spread the news! Newspapers are an important medium for understanding the world, and May 1945, was a time that the newspapers of the country agreed on one thing -victory! After 6 years of uncertainty, VE Day represents the day where soldiers learnt of their homecoming, the country witnessed moments ofcelebration, moments of peace and moments of mourning. VE Day, was a day like no other and this set should remind future generations of a day that should never be forgotten.
