My dad had that exact car. He bought it in 80 new same color outside but burgundy interior. He went like 200 to pick it up as there were none around. People marveled at his car and that new for the time digital dash and keyless entry systems. People said it was like a spaceship. He was so proud of it. Traded his 73 Lincoln in and had that beast. Was lot smaller than the 73 but much faster actually. He never let me drive it. Backed it out the garage a couple times for my mom to drive as she was scared to back out garages. Anyway mom n dad are both gone now so watching this brought back the memories.
These Lincoln were introduced the year I graduated from high school. One of my teachers drove a Cadillac DeVille that was perhaps 5 years old but looked 25 years old. The paint finish was gone and it just looked tired. I had some of the Lincoln brochures with me one day from visiting the auto show in Detroit. My teacher saw them and asked if she could look through one. She saw this 4 door Continental and thought it was beautiful. She asked me if she could borrow the brochure to show her husband. The next day she gave the brochure back, saying she and her husband were going to the dealer the following Friday to take a look at all the Lincoln’s in the lineup. On Monday she gave me a hug thanking me for letting her borrow the brochure. She said when her husband saw the new 4 door Mark VI, he wanted to leave a deposit for the new car right away. About a month later, I saw her parking her new Lincoln in the faculty parking lot. She thanked me again and showed me the interior and all the buttons and gadgets the car had. It really was pretty. About 25 years later, my husband and I had moved out of town for a new job for him. We came home for Christmas. When we drove through town to my folks house, we drove past the high school. Something caught my eye, I turned and couldn’t believe it, but parked in the lot was my old teachers 1980 4 door Continental. It looked like it had seen better days, but she was still driving it 25 years later. I would have liked to have gone into the school to see her, but with school security being what it is now, I thought not. I wonder how many miles she had on the Continental?
Hi, i have one 1980 continental town car sedan, with the 351w. With only 63 000 kilometers. His build date is october 1979. It is an export of canada To Andorre when she was new.
It kind of makes me a little depressed watching video's like these. Only because they don't make cars like that anymore. The cars today are pieces of plastic with computers on 4 wheels.
This Lincoln with " tech over size " approach was unfortunately the start of everything that will know today, of course this was ass close as we got from perfection from both worlds
What did you sell it for?? All the big luxury cars I’ve looked at were dirt cheap. There’s no demand for them. Only a select few want them unlike trucks and muscle cars. I personally love a big luxury V8 car!!! My first family car was a mint 2002 Cadillac Deville I bought for 3500 bucks lol 😂. It was great until that Northstar engine blew the head gaskets. Next time I will buy a Lincoln!
The price of this car was $34,900.00 due to the extremely low mileage. I should be buying one tomorrow but at a much lower price due to having higher mileage. I can't wait to have another Mark VI again in my life! 😋
We have a very dedicated team that searches tirelessly all across the nation to find these cars. As well as a good portion of people come to us looking to sell!
My dad had that exact car. We loved to try to guess the miles to our destination and play with all those buttons. Such a comfortable ride.

I never thought that they would add a sedan to this series, but they did!
So jealous of whomever ended up with this beauty.
That was the 1 st year Panther Lincoln and the first time and only generation 1980-83 that offered the mark series in a 4 door

Beautiful ! What a car!
Now that's a beauty! 👍👍
Beautiful car...loved the downsized dimensions over the humongous 1979. Did he just run that stop sign? LOL
Virtual time capsule. Wish it had a sunroof though.
I’m a 21 years old college student and my bank account cant grow fast enough for me to get one
Should be a nice concept a Lincoln Continental for 2025 with the same squared lines of this 80s Continental, not so baroque but more higher
Stunning
