  • The Husky.
He’s a real fun-lover, with an adventurous heart. Intelligent and ever alert, he can be quite stubborn at times, but it’s to be expected with such a sharp witted dog. He’s mischievous, and very independent, though this can be a challenge when trying to train him.
As a classic sled-puller he loves to run, roam and explore.
He’s actually a pretty sociable chap, thriving on both human and doggy company.
He needs his exercise and he’s a very active dog, originally bred for endurance. A walk really isn’t enough, he needs a jog at least, preferably a good run off the lead.
Of course he adores the cold weather, and will be happiest when pulling a sledge in a pack, but he’ll settle for doing it alone. His striking double coat needs brushing twice a week, or even daily when he moults.
Interesting facts: During the second World War Siberians serving in US ‘search and rescue’ teams brought their animals with them, helping to secure their place in the hearts of North Americans.
The Husky. A very popular choice in the Northern hemisphere.
