I recently went through a period of almost depressing nostalgia about the years before the pandemic, and how I wish I could just return to them. But when I really thought about it, I didn't know I was in the "good old days" at the time because I was also dealing with school and other problems. I began to wonder not only if I will miss where I am today in 10 years time, but also if I will regret not enjoying them to the fullest because I was too busy yearning for the past. Now, in my last year of college, I'm really focusing on enjoying where I am today, and stepping out of my comfort zone a bit. Because I want to look back on these years fondly instead of regretfully. I originally intended for this to be like 10 words, but I ended up just typing an old thought I've never been able to put into words. Idk if it makes any sense, so TLDR: It's nice to be nostalgic about the past, but don't get so wrapped up in it that you miss the best parts of the present. :)

I recently went through a period of almost depressing nostalgia about the years before the pandemic, and how I wish I could just return to them. But when I really thought about it, I didn't know I was in the "good old days" at the time because I was also dealing with school and other problems. I began to wonder not only if I will miss where I am today in 10 years time, but also if I will regret not enjoying them to the fullest because I was too busy yearning for the past. Now, in my last year of college, I'm really focusing on enjoying where I am today, and stepping out of my comfort zone a bit. Because I want to look back on these years fondly instead of regretfully.
I originally intended for this to be like 10 words, but I ended up just typing an old thought I've never been able to put into words. Idk if it makes any sense, so TLDR: It's nice to be nostalgic about the past, but don't get so wrapped up in it that you miss the best parts of the present. :)
