This is more or less due to higher interest rates since without cheap money, growth will suffer. AI has made people more productive and made things worse in terms of number of opportunities. One question that I would like to ask is that going forward, number of web dev jobs are definitely going to decrease, but would that mean that number of jobs in AI(ML, DL, NLP) will increase? Is this the correct time to change domains?
The first part (web dev jobs going to decrease) looks like is gonna happen. I cannot say for sure but yeah it feels like its quite possible. - On the AI jobs, I think they will increase in the short to medium term. As all the companies will shift to AI. But at the end of the day, they might just be training models with the data. So, the DATA related jobs might be on the rise as well. Related to DATA collection, processing etc.
The last decade (BULL run) for MBA folks has been mostly around primarily 'Software Product Management' & 'Entrepreneurship'. I think 'Software Product Management' will definitely suffer but not as much as the engineering. Entrepreneurship is quite evergreen.
Hey Gaurav, apart from your content in video, I've a small kinda query. What do you say to a guy who wants to leave the current working company just because the team work culture is bad, no productive work or learning etc ?
If finance is a big concern, please don't leave without having an offer. If you have good financial backing, leave it right away. No point wasting your time there. Think of the opportunity cost.
u don't know you passing amazing knwoledge to your juniors sir, amazing content🙌, btw let me give you small inconvienience pls suggest me some tough level project ideas my oncampus placement is in nxt 2 months, i am working on java, cpp, react js, mongo, mysql and have knowledge of version control.
Hi. Can you make a video on how to install Android versions on any phones. I want to learnt the steps from a genuine source. My phone is out of warrenty and I want to install the latest Android stable version
I am currently doing a 6 lpa software job in accenture in india. If i get selected for colleges like iiit delhi or bits pilani for mtech cse is it good or should i stay in job.
Right now, stay where you are. Keep updating yourself and based on your experience try to reach to the high end companies. Placements are getting difficult in IITs as well.
I don't have real data to support this concept that Hiring is slowed down in IITs and NITs. I have only heard first-hand anecdotes. Assuming that those are affected, I don't think it's a good idea to leave for 6 LPA job and go to college only to get a new job. Having said that, if you really need a break and you have the financial backing. Why not just take a break for a couple of years and learn more stuff or do your own thing?
can we get a complete roadmap of learning AI/ML by ourselves, the topics we need to learn about AI??? & if someone doesn't want a phd in AI/ML, form the very first year of his bachelor's degree till the end of masters, how can he get better in these fields and actually land a job for AI/ML role in tech companies?? ( a detailed video on this will be very helpful for us)
I work on the Android OS framework services. Mostly related to window manager, activity manager and that too specifically for android in cars. The language I use is mostly Java. Sometimes kotlin!
Any advice for 2nd years? Like at this point I think everyone should know LLD and system design concepts if they want to be ahead of the curve ! And I think developing a diverse skillset will be better at this time. What is your opinion on this?
Absolutely. Build projects. I'd say try to solve a problem that you face via software (regardless of how small the problem is). This will keep your interest intact and you might end up building something useable and shippable :). Another leverage you can have is your friend group. Start building something fun in a group of 4-5 with the goal of shipping it while staying within the college. Everything else will follow
It is required and it will be here for some time. And soon we all will just become managers. Managing AI instances and asking them to implement things on our behalf 😄
Well, I meant selling designer mobile covers on Instagram. I know someone doing it and providing customisation. And it seems to be doing pretty good. It was just a lite example to show that there are many alternate opportunities as well.
We are praying for our brothers and sisters who have been layed off in this market. The only way to fix this is reduce the interest rate. I hope it gets cut soon! Praying
You disappointed with the content this time, given the how senior you're. None of the web 2.0 companies are gonna run without all these average hard working developers. An AI is just neural network,(at deep learning level, some mathematical relations are being saved in Database), that's it, which was in between us since decades. (Yes...LLMs too, stop the hype) Is there any ticket booking, movie booking company is gonna use AI to write code, I mean seriously ? Are you gonna deploy your service without regression testing ? the frameworks which AI has learned has been created by very experience developers and only they know how to manage it in the future. You're bit panicked I guess, just chill out and talk to any staff software engineer(research div) at your company, google, you'll get the reality check.
(not challenging the disagreement but still throwing some light on where I am coming from) TBH, I only know as much about the internals of AI as you mentioned above. And what you said is quite similar to what a few of my friends who work in the domain say as well. But almost all agree that even if the models remain similar as we have them today; with more computing power and more training data, they can do even more wonders. The main problem as they say is controlling the randomness of the answers - when given the same question. Again, the premise of the video is not that; "AI will overcome SWEs and we will be vanished", but it surely is; "Its gonna make most of the tasks that we as SWE do on a daily basis (write code, write design, resolve ambiguities , write code, review code, write test) ULTRA fast" - which is still close to the worst case O(N^n) scenario :P. If the rate at which companies can come up with the projects remain the same; that would mean that engineers will have lots of newly available time. And in the favor of capitalism, the companies would probably see this as an opportunit to save cost.
So, you are asking to leave engineering altogether and do some random job? A google engineer losing all hope and talking about switching careers is the worst thing that can happen. According to you engineering won't last 10 years right? Well, when are you quitting your job then?
I don't have any plans to quit willingly 😂 - not as of now. I enjoy my work. I think you got me wrong if you thought that 'I am losing all the hope'. I am just extrapolating and trying to think through. And this video is what my thinking leads to.
Will you recommend software engineering to the people currently in college or we should explore some other career options?
This is more or less due to higher interest rates since without cheap money, growth will suffer.
AI has made people more productive and made things worse in terms of number of opportunities.

How do you see MBA folks getting affected by AI like product managers, consultants, IB,etc?
The last decade (BULL run) for MBA folks has been mostly around primarily 'Software Product Management' & 'Entrepreneurship'. I think 'Software Product Management' will definitely suffer but not as much as the engineering. Entrepreneurship is quite evergreen.

Great questions right there. I fear i am not the most qualified to answer those.
Let me get you some expert in a future video

Software engineering has been demolished by AI-its own creation. Programming wont be required now.
It is required and it will be here for some time.
And soon we all will just become managers. Managing AI instances and asking them to implement things on our behalf 😄
Typical ignorant
But if there are no programmers who will managers manage??😂
@@LemonCoders1 🔥. At this point all this is extrapolation. Maybe all this becomes highly regulated by governments and things don't go bad.
Cut 75% programmer job till 2030.
Great!
Content creation really 🤔
I guess you should watch text to video modal (sora).
This may change your thought!
Seen it! It's gonna happen 🔥
There are a few alternatives as well.

Exactly! We ourselves were part of it in way or another. But yeah a lot of people the wave to their full advantage - and rightly so.
