Awesome getting to link up with you last min there buddy nice review loved the side by side and great breakdown of the Nirvana Vs Gnarvana I'm sending everyone this way when ask about that one!
Thanks for rallying it to Cheoah so fast and taking the time to create this video review! We’re really stoked on this very different, but hopefully worthy follow up to the Nirvana.
I was thrilled cheoah was running and just down the road! I had a blast testing it out there- truly one of my favorite runs. You all did a great job on this boat. The rails are awesome!!!
Looks like an Antix 2.0 edge on it, which I love. Thanks for the video. looking forward to getting in one. Surprised at the speed with such a short waterline.
Agreed about the edge! YwH it’s a fast boat make no doubt about it. I don’t know if it was as obvious in the side by side clips with the scorch but I sync’d up the clips to show how the gnarvana was faster in multiple places. The gnarvana is a great boat- I’m super thrilled with it. I tried all the other creekers over the years to replace the nirvana but always came back to the nirvana. But I now have in fact found my nirvana replacement. Thanks for watching!
That’s a great question. I would say, based on my experience with it thus far, the gnarvana is more forgiving despite the aggressive rails. The scorch hard edge goes from bow to stern and they taper off on the gnarvana so they are not as grabby. If you lazy paddle the gnarvana it’s got enough volume to cover some of those bad habits but if you do actively drive it and paddle it right, it will soar.
So on flat land the medium code looks to have a little more bow rocker. But with the stern rocker you can get slightly in the back seat and effectively get a ton more bow rocker. The gnarvana is a great design. I’m stoked to have it for this upcomigg bc creeking season here in the southeast. PS thanks for watching!
May sound strange but I have a 2017 Jackson Karma Traverse 10. It has nearly an identical hull. Same rails same bow and stern. Would be interesting to see the Gnarvana and it side by side. I really have to lean to make it carve.
It's definitely different than the Traverse hull. Gnarvana is much sportier, carves better, more rocker, etc. Traverse is a good multiday trip kayak but the hull design on the gnarvana is different.
@@SouthernYak would be interesting to see them side by side. The large Gnarvan has the same volume as my 10 foot boat. One gallon more. I’m just looking for another boat something with the same level of stability and yes, something a little more sporty. Haha.
thanks for sharing, what seat position are you using? In my nirvana I am ussualyt one back from center. .... picking up my medium gnarvana this weekend at gualey, stoked - shred on!
How’s the knee position compared to the Nirvana? I felt like the medium Nirvana had low knee position and uncomfortable. I like the higher knees in the Antix much better
@@mikecatura6210 I know some people didn’t like the nirvana knee position but I found it comfortable. Saying that- knee position in the gnarvana is better.
I was impressed with the JK team noting the higher seam line at the stern as well as the rotomolded cradle for stern bulkhead. Glad you were able to get one. How's the weight when loading on the car or truck?
It’s got a lot of really well thought out details. It’s a blast to paddle. Weight seems about the same as the nirvana was though I think the specs say it weight 2-3 lbs more? It was easy to carry.

Yeah man- great catching a bridge lap with you and glad you got to try out the gnarvana! Loved your video as well!
I appreciate that Jackson releases boats once they’re in stock and available to the general public
Agreed!!

Thanks for the side by side clip. The Gnarvana looks smoother..
I found the gnarvana to be both smoother and faster than the scorch.

@@SouthernYak Is it a boat that needs to be driven hard like a Scorch where you have to stay on top of it and be moving fast?

Thanks for the detailed review! I really liked the Gnarvana-Scorch side-by-side comparison - very well done
so glad you enjoyed it and I hope it was helpful! Thanks so much for watching!
I’m looking forward to getting to ride one and compare it to my medium Code but good video looking forward to seeing more

Thank you for the video .. great comparison.. very helpful…
That was my deciding factor between the gnar and the code and you answered it….secondary stability….added to cart

Looks like a great boat for the Cheoah. Great on-water demo.
Agreed- fabulous boat and very fun on cheoah! Thanks for watching!

Congrats on getting one! I’ve been running with my seat in center position. It’s an awesome boat.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts
Thanks for watching! It’s such a fun creeker!
Great video love the comparisons!
Thanks so much and glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!

Knee position is higher than the nirvana. It felt very similar to the antix 2.0 knee position. I found it very comfortable.
Thank God!!! That knee position in the Nirvana really sucked.

Still haven't figured out why they put the drain on the side, and why the drain isn't larger??
