Running some standard gauge trains. One of the upsides to being divorced is that I can run my trains through the dining room, kitchen and living whenever I feel like it. Enjoy! BTW, the "Eric's Trains" and "Legacy Station" announcements are my voice and they are, in fact, coming from the engine itself. That was a custom run Lionel Corporate Tinplate 400e Southern Crescent set that I was lucky enough to be able to record the audio tracks for.
I remarried to a Vietnamese girl. She loves trains, and we run them all over the house. If you want to import a new wife, let me know. At least when you go visit her family you can visit the Lionel factory in Vietnam. :)
Honestly, I’m happy that standard gauge toy trains are coming back. Children now get to see (and play with) what their great-great-grandparents played with back in the early 1900’s.
I had absolutely no idea that they were making modern versions of standard gauge stuff! I knew that they were making O gauge remakes of old standard gauge sets with the modern bells, whistles, puffing smoke, and other sound effects, but I had no idea anyone had made any standard gauge stuff anywhere since at least 1960!
Hey Eric, I watch many of your videos. Being a dedicated 0 Gauge guy, I wasn't sure I'd like this Standard Gauge video. Well I was surprised. I liked it, and found the entire video very entertaining. Thanks for sharing it.
Loving that #7 with the long rear observation car deck. I have an original green set with the long deck and prongs on the seats for pin people I need to restore to go with my #54. I like the orange and yellow cars better. Nothing like Standard gauge colors. Also have the Green SS Brute with the Showroom passenger cars which is a real monster. Love you videos. People talk about MTH Realtrax with their O gauge dealings. But so seldom do people talk about their Standard Gauge Realtrax (because standard gauge is less common of course). But there it is. Standard Gauge Realtrax, which actually looks more like Lionel Fastrack, and it is spiffy.
Eric, how much did this make you feel like a kid again? That's why I love my dad's old Lionel and the Polar Express my wife and daughter bought me at Christmas time. I Love doing the the Living & Dining Room Central at that time of year! I enjoy feeling like a kid again!

it just dawned on me. Im pretty much doing the same thing..going into the past..I am building a traditional lionel O27 layout..going back to the toy like trains for my imagination fun as a kid.
Love your stuff. Been a fan 2 yrs and have learned quite a bit. Always very pleasant to listen to and very informative. I model using 031-072 track. I've used fastrack when supplied with sets albeit just an oval and was surprised to see such a long run you set up. I had no idea of the great continuity of fastrack.
