As a Mexican-American myself I believe it’s just a quirk of us Latinos living in the US. I speak with a typical American accent but when pronouncing my own name or any other proper name I’ll pronounce it in a Mexican accent as do the most my family and friends
I love how she is the first Latina. Guys. Latina’s are only 2% in the legal field. The fact that she came from humble beginnings and how proud her mom and brother who is also highly educated are there together. Such a beautiful moment.
I was in high school the year that president Barack Obama nominated Judge Sonia Sotomayor for the Supreme Court and our city's high schools launched a competition which was writing an essay about her nomination. Students had the option to choose if she was or not the right person for the job. I thought she was and I am so happy that my work was chosen as one of the best essay among thousands of students.

I watched his confirmation hearing and he did not answer a single question, acted hostile towards the Senators, and possibly lied under oath. Plus, he's a son of a lobbyist and a judge, who went to the most expensive schools.
I find it hypocritical she was not asked to recuse herself when it came to the Affordable Care Act giving her involvement with it previously. She helped crapped it Amy Barrett just stated an opinion about it so if Justice Spirit has to recuse herself so does Sotomayor.
That... doesn’t make any sense. The Affordable Care Act was introduced in the House as another bill on September 2009, and she was confirmed over a month before the draft bill was even introduced. They would’ve asked her if the bill was already established.
