MAVIC considering that the album was written over four years, I always thought this song was about getting back together Justin during 2017 and how good it felt to 'dance again' with him, how she didn't need permission from friends or public commentators, how their trauma is in remission because they worked through their issues... It’s another thing that you don’t care about technical quality and still like a song bc it’s catchy, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But this song just really isn’t very good -not a lot of range, lyrics and melody are repetitive, though the production’s pretty decent. Overall, just makes for a monotonous listen. Also, I love many of Selena’s other songs; this one just is not it.
For those that gonna say “She can’t dance” will let me explain to you that this is supposed to be her by herself(no matter where) she’s all alone enjoying herself. The song is to reference that you don’t need anyone to be happy, you only need yourself that’s enough. This isn’t supposed to be choreographed. MAVIC considering that the album was written over four years, I always thought this song was about getting back together Justin during 2017 and how good it felt to 'dance again' with him, how she didn't need permission from friends or public commentators, how their trauma is in remission because they worked through their issues... There's double entendres all over the song. Could be about her lupus and kidney transplant, could also be about Justin. Most likely both.
