Man, in my 14 years car ownership, I never witnessed such condition of my tyre... thankfully you guys are safe and in one piece! Unlike your rear tyre.
Thanks Simon! That was truly a scary experience, and so thankful that we were able to get back on the road within 1 hour with the help of many kind friends & strangers.
Daren i had this same thing happen to me on NSE several years ago, was super scary but glad you are safe and thanks for the towing advice for us Tesla owners should we ever need it.
the tyre may be punctured and kept low in pressure for a quite a distance to have issue like that. ev tyre has the sponge to make it quieter and make you think it is ok to carry on for a little more.
Should have stop the vehicle when the tire monitor detect low tire pressure …. The tire came off due to driving while tire pressure is low/flat. It it’s run flat then ask Michelin to explain & ask for replacement tire.
Usually situation like this happened when you continue driving at high speed with a puncture. Look at F1 cars who have similar situation with the tyres. You probably didn’t know there was a puncture and continue to drive for a stretch at high speed.
@@naga2015kk Tesla infotainment will notify you of low tyre pressure, so unlikely it was missed. Must be something else other than pressure unless he decided to continue driving ignoring tyre pressure warnings.
@@naga2015kknot true. You wont feel it unless become like that. But you can hear the “kwok kwok kwok” sound. Maybe he was chatting and not paying attention. I have seen drivers in general still driving with a flat tyre. And car is stable.
This is guarantee damaged due to low tire pressure. Tyre are steel belted nowadays and it won’t have such damage if it weren’t due to low pressure. It is because pressure too low and the car keep moving, the tyre sidewall is completely folded as pressing by the wheel. A couple of kilometres the tyre will come off like the video shown. Zero possibility you can claim a tyre from the brand coz it is not manufacturing defect.

Good point!
Blessed that all 3 of you are safe and great community supports, kudos to the kind souls
Glad everyone is safe, lucky there was no spin outs or heavy damage to the rims and car etc.
Glad that all are safe! Enjoy your trip Daren!
Thanks Boon Tee! 🙏🏻

Agree! Good reminder!

if it was puncture, the car would be VERY unbalanced, Yong is not a newbie.
He would have detected it LONG AGO.

Wow seems that Tesla sensor and Daren will never go wrong. But of course.
Thanks for sharing your perspective!

this is what happens when u drive on a flat tyre.. the sidewalls will get damaged and eventually become like this...
True. Got to stop driving immediately!
I've driven for so long and never encountered this before. What an experience for you! 😅
Agree! Unforgettable experience haha
Glad you’re safe. What was the mileage of the tyre?
21,000km mileage!
Being a stock tyre, shld chk w Tesla Sgp or Michelin why tyre can jus come off like that...did u do any wheel rotation?
Fair. Yes, did 2 tyre rotations (once every 10,000km) at Tesla.

how this will happen? OMG
How about a spare tyre??..
Teslas don’t have spare tyres unfortunately
Did you hit something on the road. Looks like big objects to cause damage like that.
We don't recall hitting anything unfortunately.
Safe trip
