The Real Eh See i remember a few years later after Rey Mysterio threw someone in the Gulf of Mexico, CM Punk, who was feuding with him, came out the next week and said something along the lines of “Unlike Rey, Ive never thrown a man in the Gulf of Mexico”
King of the Mountain was actually a pretty decent match type. It was actually kind of entertaining. The penalty box also added a lot of interesting storytelling opportunities to the match. By pinning somebody, you could get them out of the way and lighten the resistance for a short time, but if you couldn't win the match during that time, you risked giving your opponent a chance to recover. I've seen alliances be forged in the penalty box, brawls break out, you name it. So yeah, the KOTM match was actually pretty good.
Were the piranhas real and actually biting the guy in the death match or were they a different fish and the guy just cut himself a lot when it was happening?
It's funny. Batista vs Khali in the Punjabi prison was the first match I partly saw. The first full match I saw, was the X division King of the Mountain at 2009 Slammiversy. Crazy intro to pro wrestling
Is it just me when it comes to the king of the mountain match was actually not that over complicated and was actually a good match for the most part it just seems like people want to beat up tna
@Outlaw Aka Rip-off artist. I loved the King Of The Mountain match and hated when TNA got rid of it in 2010, the only thing I would change about the match is to not have the whole hang the belt up thing. But yes people like to shit on TNA for some reason, even though TNA was once a fantastic and unique promotion over a decade ago.
Outlaw Aka Rip-off artist Ikr. Sure it’s rules are a bit silly but they also guaranteed the match would be dramatic and it presented a lot of opportunities for storytelling. It could never be a spotfest because the rules didn’t allow for it. Plus they were also smart enough to book guys in it that were actually talented enough to make it work. One of Russo’s better ideas I feel
Thank you I get trying to put the belt on the thing was a bit stupid but everything else was it a great idea and I feel like the worst match is the company created that was stupid maybe it’s just me because I have a soft spot for them but luckily it wasn’t thank you for agreeing with me
I’m surprised wwe didn’t have the balls to do a chamber of horrors match at Halloween havoc 2020 because it was on the wheel “ spin the wheel MAKE a deal”
With summer slam on the horizon- the 10 best matches with no belts on the line(hhh/Michaels, brock/punk,styles/Cena, Rey/angle) that should get you started.
Vince Russo says.....bro bro bro bro everything on a pole match bro bro bro bro bro WWE and AEW are in business together you Marks bro bro bro I like wrestling but not that fake wrestling bro
You know a Last Blood Match sounds like a cool name for a match, could be the name for a Fatal 4 Way Elimination First Blood Match to make shit similar
The WCW had the most convoluted match, it was called “Reverse Battle Royale;” the match can only be one by the person who is left out of the ring, the losers are all some how placed in the ring under the bottom rope. It was 45 minutes of “what the absolute hell” you will ever see.
*I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A MATCH!!!!* You hang a key on a pole, you hang a box in the middle of the ring with the title in it. So the wrestlers need to get the key to unlock the box and get the title!!!!!
If you want to call out other match types for being overly complicated, the Elimination Chamber deserves at least a dishonorable mention. I remember when it was introduced, and I cannot think of anyone who took it seriously. Wrestlers sealed in pods, with one randomly released every five minutes? The structure itself looks silly as well. It was a match that screamed "Look at us, we have tons of money and no self-control."
The King of the Mountain matches may have had weird rules, but they were usually pretty entertaining. Also, how dare you speak ill of the Crush/Randy Savage FCA match.
Likewise, that WM X Falls Count Anywhere Match was actually pretty good, and they had to come up with inventive ways of not just pinning their opponent, but keeping them out the ring for 60 seconds.
I thought FOR SURE the Monster Truck Sumo Match would be #1. Because that was just pure rubbish. The Giant fell off a roof, presumably died, only to appear moments later. Ridiculous. Honorable mention: Judy Bagwell, on a pole. Truly a classic.
Do a list of the most ridiculous PPVs ever. Like that one time when Hulk Hogan killed the Giant in Kayfabe and later in the show still showed up in the ring to defend his title against the exact same person he threw off a building just hours earlier. Or that NWO show that was designed to be really bad. Or when WWE decided to still continue a PPV after Owen Hart IRL died in an accidant in front of the live crowd.
Cornette is just as goofy as these matches. Nobody believes that he is going to put up $5000 of his own money in a wrestling match. The dude has taken one too many scaffold bumps
Did the guy thrown in the piranha tank get bit? Or did they just swim frantically trying to avoid him? No one ever talks about that when mentioning this match
Wayne Sasuta no I remember other strap matches that weren’t bad but they had this was a bit different. They had these censors in every turnbuckle and they had to touch them so Sheamus Brogue Kicked Henry and carried his prone body to touch the turnbuckles.
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED, that the Hard 10 Tournament didn't make the list. Point values assigned to weapon usage and required scores for pinfalls is just the height of nonsense
King Of The Mountain is silly but not complicated. Make a pinfall or submission, you are eligible to hang up the title Get pinned or submitted. you have to go to the penalty box for like 2mins or something
I never understand why heels abide by tradition in various no rules matches. No DQ tag matches, why not just stay in the ring the entire time with your partner?
No love for "Capture the Midget"? And IIRC, WWE had to show Bearer getting pulled out of the concrete alive, at least in the arena; I think it was because of WWE's "family friendly policy" (i.e. things they told parents so they'd let their young kids watch) saying that they would never show anyone being killed
“It’s similar to a blindfold match, but instead of the wrestlers it’s the fans that can’t see a damn thing” LOL
Is that not just a wrestlemania 35 match?
I laughed way to hard to that
It is actually a genious idea. If you can't see the Great Kali, you can't tell how bad his matches were.
#1: *Judy Bagwell on a Forklift Match*
Rumor has it it was Judy Bagwell who got Buff that match with Booker on Raw...
The Great Khali's Punjabi Prison match is actually pretty hilarious like it's steel cage within a steel cage but it's bamboo
No Shit Sherlock. Really?!!
Except it's not actually bamboo
I’m sure Vince said the same thing
I bet one day, there will be a Takeshi's Castle Match, and it shall be glorious.
Will there be grilled Mormons?
Anybody remember the Gulf of Mexico Match?
That was actually one of the first matches I ever watched 😂😂
@@DougTheDog6 Glad to see our tastes got better!
@@AHeroAlmost CM Punk & Chavo Guerrero on the Feburary 5, 2008 episode of WWECW.

The Real Eh See yup
1:44 showing the attitude logo with wwe rather than wwf offends me on a very deep and personal level.
Do more of these bizarre match types countdown.
the Big Japan show where they had a battle royal in a specially built house (which was slowly torn down as the match went on).
I miss Buried Alive, Last Ride, and Hardcore matches
Just wait for the stampede match this Saturday
king of the mountain is a damn good match type bro

Oh come on what about the electrified steel cage match in TNA. That was crazy
10:55 that image is one of the funniest things ive ever seen on this or any other wrestling channel
I personally was very intrigued by the "Kennel From Hell, "Concrete Crypt," and the "Doomsday Chamber Of Horrors" matches. Am I alone in my intrigue?
you forgot down a pint of whisky while spinning around for the king of the mountain stipulations
Bizarre or not, I enjoyed most of these stipulations. It's nice to see something weird or crazy every once in awhile.
"For that, we journey back to 1996..."
*shows a clock moving clockwise, implying time moving forward*
Next match-type ppv: Chair vs Hair.
Vince is stubborn.
The biggest thing on the Al Snow-Boss Man angle: Jerry’s face to when the dog was cooked
But FMW's No Rope Electrified Barbed Wire Swimming Pool Dynamite Double Hell Death Match
Actuallt, king of the mountain was an amazing gimmick
I always thought the song "King of the Road" was about a hedgehog teaching her child road safety.
It's funny. Batista vs Khali in the Punjabi prison was the first match I partly saw. The first full match I saw, was the X division King of the Mountain at 2009 Slammiversy. Crazy intro to pro wrestling

You loved all these Pacciti, admit it. You love it, you love it, you love it...
Can you guys make a ranked opening wrestle mania matches
One of the airships on super Mario 3 that one was hilarious I could imagine that happening or what it would look like
The 2nd coming of Bruno Samartino joke is good😂😂
They should make a match were you have to scream yeet before your opponent
There should be more Punjabi Prison matches just saying!
I just went back and watched NXT TakeOver Toronto. Tag match and main event heavily recommend. You can take or leave the others.
Haven't finished the video yet but if turkey on a pole is only #6 i don't know if I want to
With summer slam on the horizon- the 10 best matches with no belts on the line(hhh/Michaels, brock/punk,styles/Cena, Rey/angle) that should get you started.
How does everyone miss the Bread Eating Death Match from Japan?
Finally... My "favourite" King Of The Road gets some coverage somewhere!
Vince Russo says.....bro bro bro bro everything on a pole match bro bro bro bro bro WWE and AEW are in business together you Marks bro bro bro I like wrestling but not that fake wrestling bro
Damn I liked that version of the falls count anywhere match. Wouldn’t prefer it but I liked it
Surprisingly a couple of the king of the mountain matches were pretty good
I enjoy wrestling, but
I F U C K I N G L O V E C U M
I am kinda surprised the reverse battle royal wasn't on here.
I assume that's not the British Kendo Nagasaki?
I think this was a pretty good list but I know why you guys keep showing Jim cornette he did not come up with any of these stupid matches
Possibly because he detests these kinds of matches.
You get a like for the little Britain reference. Much appreciated
You know a Last Blood Match sounds like a cool name for a match, could be the name for a Fatal 4 Way Elimination First Blood Match to make shit similar

Wheres that triple cage whatever its called?
Styles with the GED was great.
Really surprised I didn’t see the house of horrors match on here

Hungry for taco bell now
I died at “the dogs were so elated that they started humping each other” 😂😂
I could have been TNA Champion if only I had gotten my GED!
I like the king of the mountain match. The early ones were pretty good
Forgot the mixed tag on Sunday.
Did the guy thrown in the piranha tank get bit? Or did they just swim frantically trying to avoid him? No one ever talks about that when mentioning this match
Can't wait to see more! 👍
I actually saw the concrete crypt in person at mania axxess
I hope there’s the strap match type between Mark Henry and Sheamus (where they had to touch every turnbuckle or something like that) in this list
Mert Yılmaz Öztürk there’s been many other matches of that type prior to Henry v Sheamus...done well it’s actually not that bad of a stip
Wayne Sasuta no I remember other strap matches that weren’t bad but they had this was a bit different. They had these censors in every turnbuckle and they had to touch them so Sheamus Brogue Kicked Henry and carried his prone body to touch the turnbuckles.
I feel like bad cell gimmicks and bad battle royal gimmicks could each have their own list.
I don't care what anyone says Undertaker vs Big Show Punjabi Prison match will always hold a special place in my heart
The Hair Vs. Hair match is so baffling to me, that I wonder why it was ever done more than once.
It's a traditional Lucha de Apuestas match, which is when people put things on the line (traditionally a mask or title.)
King of the mountain was great.
WCW Triple Cage Match
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED, that the Hard 10 Tournament didn't make the list. Point values assigned to weapon usage and required scores for pinfalls is just the height of nonsense
King Of The Mountain is silly but not complicated.
Make a pinfall or submission, you are eligible to hang up the title
Get pinned or submitted. you have to go to the penalty box for like 2mins or something
CanadianWarMachine it is absolutely complicated. They said “it’s really quite simple” but had a full page of rules
that triple cage thing that WCW did was pretty weird.
Haven’t watched but I’m expecting a tons of FMW
what about the ambrose asylum match, the tuxedo match, or the house of horrors?
Please make 10 insane deathmatch stips list pleeeease XD
Wait wait wait
Where the hell is Bray Wyatt’s “House of Horrors” match?
Unpopular opinion: I actually really liked the TNA King Of The Ring reverse ladder matches.
I never understand why heels abide by tradition in various no rules matches. No DQ tag matches, why not just stay in the ring the entire time with your partner?
King of the mountain was lit tho
What about the WCW Junkyard Invitational?
I have seen this but wondering if I should play it
One question: HOW TF WASN'T THE GREAT AMERICAN TURKEY HUNT NOT NUMBER ONE?
I just found out I’ve been winning King of the Mountain matches for the last 4 years.
No love for "Capture the Midget"?

Don Del Grande I love that they actually promised they wouldn’t show anyone getting murdered. Like... good, I would hope so.
You might say Vince Russo loves pole lol
The King Of The Mountain match was awesome, (except for trying to hang the belt thing) but apart from that, the match type was awesome.
(whispers) ... I liked the King of the Mountain matches...
What about the duchess of queensbury match?
Every Great Khali match ever
see I know th it was convoluted but I really enjoyed the King Of The Mountain match
Notification squad where u at
Lol
Jim Cornett would hate all those shit matches
You watching fight for the fallen
What about Judy bag well on a forklift
Hey i like King of the Mountain matches
I kinda liked the king of the mountain match
