- How could someone who traps dingoes have such a deep affection for them? If you don't understand, maybe you never will.

What a Legend Ernie was. Cunning but with a big heart. Loved the kids. What a character. It's criminal what happened to him.
Such a great but sad story . It sounds like he was one of those once in a lifetime dogs
Sad story for a great dog Thanks for sharing!
Great yarn about Erinie mate. Although the chook hunting was inbred, the love of your family was returned in spades with the affection he returned. Long may his memories remain in your hearts. RIP Ernie
What an amazing dog and such a sad story.
What a tragic and fecking corrupt ending for such a game dog. Ernie looked to be a one in a million pup. I can see it still gets you Clarkie mate, that's a sure sign of how much folk love thier animals. Peace out mate from the UK.
Thank you for telling Ernie's story.
God Bless you and all you hold dear 🙏❤🦘
Thankyou for sharing your story about Ernie
Sad story. Interesting how he maintained that wild heart. RIP Ernie.
So tragic, I'm so sorry Clark.. but thanks for sharing the story. These cowards in 'control' of councils can not be trusted, even with a chipped dog! Far out
What an awesome story with a sad ending. Dear Ernie. Thank you Clark for sharing Ernie's story.
Understanding mate! I have a wildling and he is too smart and compassionate to compare to any other dog. A pain in the ass with veggies. Helps himself to my corn if I am not listening. Love that you cannot explain 👍
Minnesota Rancher. What a story! Sounds like Ernie taught you a lot, and blessed you with his presence for a while. I can relate some what, we raised an orphaned coyote pup for a couple months. But she was a bit older when we found her and she never did become very civilized. We released her and she never looked back. Love your channel, keep up the good work!
Really enjoyed this video Clarke..unbelievable..I wanna save a puppy too..il call him Burt
A heart warming & bitter sweet story. I have been waiting for a while now to hear the full story of Ernie the Dingo. Thanks again for sharing that story Clark. 👍🐕.
Great story, all he needed was a bit of love, and when he got it he turned out all right. You did a good thing.
What a sad story for a beautiful dog
What a beautiful, and sad story. Well done Clarke, for giving this wonderful dog, a too short, but happy, and caring years.
Such a sad story and it continues to point out the total corruption of Governments. Whether the US, UK or Auz.
So sorry for your loss.
Txs for sharing.
Thank you for sharing his story, Rest In Peace to Earnie
Great story, very sad about the unfortunate fate of Ernie
Love it mate 👍🏼it's a shame so many of them have to be culled.
Fully agree.Being both & shooter & dog lover It is hard to watch such a horribly sad outcome.Being long term heeler owners, the Dingo component makes them so uniquely lovable & intelligent.Ernie was beautiful .Stuff the low life local goverment staff.
Fighting the government is a very disheartening, frustrating experience. My heart goes out to you over Ernie. Great video with an ending that I did not see coming. Keep on going. I will continue to watch!
Oh you can fight the government, you just have to be aggressive about it.
Australian government, councils shires and police! 💩💩💩💩
Great story Clark. Very much enjoyed.
A salute to Ernie.
Hi Clark ,thank you for the wonderful story about Ernie , what a sad ending I had two female kelpies one pure-bred pup 4 months old and one kelpie cross cattle dog 13 years old , I just love working dogs, Keep up the good work love your videos Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia
What a beautiful humbling story of a dog from the wild that was so greatly loved and such tragic story for his demise. My heart goes out to you and your family for recognising kindness in nature?
Hey Clark, that's so sad to hear what happened to Ernie. Typical government for you.
I've never had a "Wild Dog" pup as a companion, but two of my mates have had them. They said exactly what you said, they are one of the smartest dogs they have ever experienced.
Nearly to smart.
Your videos are very helpful, please keep up the great work you're doing.
Thanks for sharing that Clark. They are a beautiful and very intelligent animal and as much as I hate what they do and shoot and trap them for it, i have a lot of respect for them. So nice to see one loved and loving and respecting you as leader of his pack. Very interesting personally. 👌
big hearted Mate, there very vocal animals ...Oh thats typical of some council rangers..I too found pups in a mine shaft that went into a huge hill on black flag station...Mount pleasant .
Well i found a 4.5 ounce gold nugget there in 1981 still have it to this day .Thankyou for sharing this heart warming dinkum story 👍
I loved the story of Ernie, the dog; I realised how important he was to you and your family. Didn't throw him in the to the too hard basket; no learnt with him also from him. That deep connection to the country. Thank you for sharing this story.
Dry eyed through stage four cancer but thoughts of top dogs I’ve had and yours about Ernie always wet the cheeks. Thank you.
Stay strong mate, our prayers your way 👊
There are still plenty of nights left in this young coot, got a swag, a Kelpie, a Tikka and an FJ.
Crystal clear nights on the Divide will come back soon enough, whether above or amalgamated into.
Always welcome at my fire McGhie.
What a great story.
What a sad sad story Clark and I’m really sorry for your loss that would have been so hard
And so hard to talk about
Thanks so much for shearing that with us
I can’t believe they did that what a bunch of mongrels
Take care
Feck me that got a lump in my throat. Thank you for sharing. Shame there’s not more people like you around maybe Ernie would still be by your side.
Thanks for sharing about Ernie, sorry to hear about his untimely end.
Well that was a disturbing story. RIP Ernie, the ones that did that should have been called out. Thanks for sharing Clark.
Hey Clark, Thanks for sharing your story.
Lovely story.
All the best from New Zealand 👍
Lovely but sad at the same time.
A lovely, and sad story. Thanks for sharing.
Very sad, still he will always be with you and your family ,from the U.K. xx.
Fascinating story. Thank you for sharing. They really are special animals with a unique nature about them.
Thats quite a story! Im sorry it ended so unfairly.
That is such a sad story. How people can do that is beyond comprehension.
I'm sorry for your loss Clark. This story is both heartwarming and horrifying.
Well - in 1992 whilst camping in the bush - a pair of young dingoes where hanging around the camp site. My wife and 2 young sons - 3 and 4 yrs old were with me. I told them to be careful and not let the dingoes get too close. Anyhow to cut a long story short - we went home with one of the dingo pups - probably 6 months old. How they were there at the camp site I don't know - I suspect they had been abandoned by a person - as they were not overly afraid of people. A dingo cross for sure - but looked fully dingo. He certainly turned a few eyes where ever we went. He turned out to be an excellent dog - very different - very hunting minded - very loyal - lived to be 17+ years old. - What name did we give him - Ernie.
thanks for sharing Ernie i have wondered what one would be like raised in a home !
What a great video clarke i live in sydney and cant wait to watch your trapping videos on Tuesday. Keep up the great work 👍
Fascinating! Thank you Clark.
A truly beautiful story Clark, with such a sad ending. Now who is the conservationist now? I love what you do for the hunting community and sometimes - as hard as it is to put down a wild dog that has gone rogue. My God bless you and the family, my friend, and do keep educating people on the absolute necessity of your work.. pete
Wow.. This puts a lot of perspective on the trapping you do in most these episodes.
What a great story mate 💛
Great dog, and a great story. Thank you for sharing it. Sadly the ending is not surprising, given the way Government at all levels in this country have acted (in recent years in particular) when given power over the people they are supposed to represent. I am sad for the lady that thought she was doing the right thing by calling council services. She must also be heartbroken. But what a time for her to wake the F up and realise that Government at all levels are NOT our friend and they don't have our best interest's at heart. Timely lesson for her. For you and your family, well you have lost a part of yourselves. The memories will always be there, but a wrong has been done to you and yours. Those of us who seek and Love the TRUTH! Will readily forgive, (that we might be free from the bondage of bitterness) But we will not easily forget!
That is such a sad incident, I wasn't expecting it to end like this.
Great video and info Clark he turned out be a good dog , what a shame they did that to him some people just don’t think of other people RIP Ernie
Great reflection on the life of Ernie.
We've had a few pets (cats and dogs) over the years, and the best ones are the "stand-outs" from the litter also.
Awesome dog..
This story brought a tear to my eye, mate. So sorry to hear about such a beautiful companion.
Those damn allergies can hit hard and unexpectedly.
WOW - I'm so sorry to hear what happened to Ernie
Thank you for sharing this story Clark , I had often wondered if you had tamed a Dingo and used it with your work.
Sad ending to a spirited dog and pet.
Thanks for watching. I could only tell part of the story due to libel laws but let's just say the Govt dept in question treated this magnificent animal horrifically. He was unique and I miss him still.
@@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry Hello Clark thank you for replying , if possible would I be able to private message you , I am in NZ across the ditch but originally from central Africa , kind rgds.
Thank you for sharing such a special, important and personal part of your life. The journey you take me on every time you post a video is special to me and something I look forward to.
Great story clark, with a sad ending!
I’m sorry for your loss
They say that you will always have a dog throughout your lifetime that will always stand out and what my father said one that will never be replaced and never matched.
I was brought up on a farm in the Yorkshire Dales in the U.K. and at the age of 13 one of my fathers border collie unexpectedly gave birth to a litter of three pups, she was an old bitch which was retired and never showed any signs of pregnancy. I asked my father if I could keep one and over the period of a year that dog tip was learning so fast was great with sheep and knew what I wanted before I asked. He was a longer haired dog but was marked beautifully with white socks and whispery feathered hairs on his feet and was marked identical on each side and a big dog at that. I called him tip and every night after school I was out training him and some farmers got wind of this dog and some would park up on the roadside and watch me training him and one day one of them knocked on the door and asked to buy him and offered £600 and this was 40 years ago and was a lot of money for a young dog but I knew I had something special and refused he offered more but I wasn’t selling him. Coming up was the local agricultural show where there was classes for best looking and obedient sheep dog pup and I had entered him and everyone was saying that your going to walk through that lad with your Tip he’s outstanding.
Then one day I’d been to town with my parents as I needed a haircut and when we got back our local gamekeeper was at the farm as he’d called in for his milk and he was going frantic saying there’s something wrong with that dog and I could hear Tip howling in pain he was so ill and we emptied the car and put him in the back of the car and my dad drove at speed back to town which was 20 miles away and half way there Tip went quiet and he’d died! I was absolutely heartbroken beyond believe and when we arrived at the vets dad said he wanted a post-mortem done and the vet said straight away this dog had been poisoned!
We got home and we went into the building where tip was kept and we could see that the window had been broken and the glass was on the inside. The following day the vet called in and gave us the results and he said that Tip had raw meat in his stomach and it had been laced with strychnine!!!!
How could anyone do such a thing to an animal and cause such pain to Tip and myself we hadn’t hurt anyone why?
My dad did find out I know he did as he had returned home one evening in a state with blood on his shirt and his knuckles were all marked. So many people had said it was through jealousy and fingers had been pointed to one person in particular but it was going to prove it if the police were involved.
A while afterwards the farmer who had offered me the money for Tip asked me to go to his farm as he had a litter of pups and he like many had heard what had happened to Tip and asked if I’d like to have pick of the litter which was so generous and kind and I chose a pup and called him Punch as the farm where he was born was called punchcard farm and it just sounded the right thing to do. But honestly Punch was useless wouldn’t listen to a word I said and just did his own thing and wasn’t a patch on my Tip.
So yes my father was right a one in a lifetime dog that any other dog wouldn’t match. There are certainly some sick people in this world we live in.
My first dog was a dingo cross great dog
Im so sorry for Ernie may he rip !
Im sure you learnt a hell of a lot from him for your future endeavours of the wild dogs !! It’s outrageous what Qld councils do 😭
I'll never not own a dog. I've been fortunate that every dog I've ever owned has been amazing in there own way but the love they give you and they protect you
I love Ernie.
Always the really goods ones that leave you far to early
Wow what a dog Clark, you would of been so proud of Ernie. It’s amazing that ignorant people couldn’t see how different he was, they didn’t give him a chance thinking he was a typical Dingo. What a sad story , I’m sorry for your loss.
Thanks Clark, nice story, very sorry there was not an happy ending.
Very sad to hear thanks for sharing that story and all the effort you put into your channel love your work 👍
Much appreciated

brilliant to hear that story Clarke
What a sad ending to a great story. Seems to be a sign of the times unfortunately. RIP Ernie
Some times City people have got no idea of living in the wild. Instead of loving , city just kill.
Sad ending mate, hope you're doing well.
Would you be interested in doing some videos on how you train your dogs?
Do not kill more dingos, kill the cigars and leave the meztisos, What a beautiful Dyngo exemplary is that, I hope it is not the last one that exists or sees.
Good story well told
They are very affectionate when brought up the right way.,Friend had one here in Adelaide. He loved their kids and grandchildren and the first time,i met him he jumped on my lap for cuddle i was privileged Only a couple of people he didnt like and would leave the house and howl down the back yard . Stuart Palmer Adelaide Sth Australia
So sad .thanks for sharing
It hurts to lose a member of the family
That's an awesome story Clark. Definitely shed a tear on this one
I had a full blood Dingo Bitch named Lucy. Excellent fun. Great dog. Understand your feelings 👍
When I was a kid 1979 my dad's twin uncle's ran a farm out Condobolin.
Dad use 2 go out as a young fella and shoot.
The twin's had blue cattle dog's and a dingo had got 2 a blue bitch in season.
Dad turned up there as the pup's where being drowned.
Dad said the kid's would love a pup.
We got the last 1 alive a male runt.
He was the most faithful loyal dog I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and understanding.
He was human and loved us unconditionally.
Wouldn't sleep in a kennel although he had 1 he chose 2 sleep on our front door mat and guard the household.
Never heard him bark he would howl and yap.
He lived until arthritis got the better of him and we put him out of his pain at 14.
I've owned alot of dog's and hunted pig's with them.
And had alot of good honest no bullshit dog's that are great at work and at home with my family.
But none like him mate.
Wish I could have cloned him lol.
Love ya channel and learn alot from your video's.
Thank's mate.
What a sad end to this story ' just shows that even though that instinct has been watered down it's still in there .👍
As far as I'm aware aboriginals had dingos as working pets way back when. They would work together for food or finding water. I was in a community once and seen a surprisingly pure dog and an elder said it wasn't a pet but respected like a human.
Great story mate and what a shame it turned out the way it did. I'm sure he would've had a great retirement had he gotten the chance.
In the last 15 years alone it's a great shock to me how cross bred they have become. What they looked like on the station as a kid to the same area today they look almost domestic except the hind quarter
Love the story
Loved the content.
Hate the murderous people who have the heart of a ROCK
That really sux, great dogs are one of a kind, I lost my 126 lb working German shepherd Dec 8, 2021. He was always by my side on the farm, and in the house, lol. Still get choked up at the loss of genuine love and true devotion and loyalty. He was only 8 and got cancer so I Had him euthanized before he got too sick out of my love to him I didn’t want him to suffer. I really loved that dog. Your border collies are awesome, especially skunk he has that personally of like, that’s a terrible idea, so when do we start. Lol.
He’s a beauty old Ernie. Such a sad story isn’t it I thought all dogs would be scanned if impounded not matter what they look like or are. Very frustrating.
Keep up the great videos. I miss trapping and shooting dogs been a while since I have done it it’s a art and they are so so smart.
I had a stumpy blue cattle dog that was a lot like that always scratching tracking bringing small animals home birds and chooks where not safe even snakes he would just fly in grab there tail and drag them flat out. he would go to 2kms or more tracking a pig scent to find it. Always into something and had to sleep way up high as he could but watching you. Would climb a ladder and get on the roof with you run about on the tin like it was nothing all paw no claw. Often find him ontop of the Ute canopy or the tractor cab dozer or loader roof sometimes ontop of the beer fridge in the shed you would find him just lying there watching observing and chilling.
No one got passed him into the house. I left him at a mates to serve a bitch and I went to work he did the job somehow got out of a 8ft run and slipped a chain as I didn’t trust him so we chained him in the run. He traveled 75 kms home and was sitting up there waiting for me after work Friday. Mate was stressed but I wasn’t knew if he got out somehow he be home the next day. If he got ripped by a pig he would let you stitch him up no worries at all just lay there on the Ute Ute fridge or esky while you helped him.
I lost him after he got a bit crook and I left him off he disappeared and we found him a bit later way up on the edge of the main road.
Excellent video mate 👍
I can feel your hurt. I had a pitbull dingo cross call Morgan. He was the smartest, toughest and most loyal dog I ever had. He was 27 KG,s but but could do a 70 kg Rottweiler or anything else in about half a minute.
I watch your videos every week, Clark. I admire your passion and willingness to educate people about the ethical way to hunt. Most of all, I appreciate your strong principles and sense of humanity. Thank you for sharing that very personal story of Ernie. It is obvious what an amazing dog he was and what an impact he had on you and your family. So sorry the episode finished the way it did. Best Regards, JB from Adelaide.
Thanks for sharing m8
How utterly sickening; another example of psychopaths in action. They lie, they love power and control, they have no empathy and among other pointers, have no sense of responsibility for their actions. I felt my internal fires light up on your behalf, Clark.
Awwww that is so sad…….
Cheers Clarke
Well said
I have a wild born orphan. He's my second wild dingo. I know what you mean, life has never been the same for the better.
