I was on honeymoon in America, in 2003, from the UK. This was playing on a TV in a clothes store. I asked one of the staff who it was, walked across the mall, and bought the album. Still one of my favourites today 🙂
Lately I've been wandering Off the narrow path You've given me so many things that I've never had And all in all I know it's you that always pulls me through If you reach deep inside you'll see my heart is true 'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight And I know I need you in my life´ Yes I hate the way I feel inside And I promise to make the sacrifice (Come on) The world I know is pulling me More and more each day I feel like the odd man out as I begin to pray Spiteful eyes are watching me With everything I do In the midst of darkness lord My spirit calls for you 'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight And I know I need you in my life Yes I hate the way I feel inside And I promise to make the sacrifice (You know sometimes deep inside) I feel like this 'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight And I know I need you in my life Yes I hate the way I feel inside And I promise to make the sacrifice 'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight And I know I need you in my life Yeah, the way I feel I hate the way, the way I feel

I was 18 years old when this album came out. I had just moved out on my own and discovering who I was. I still find traces of all the bands I listened to influencing my music style to this day. And when I hear these songs I'm instantly taken back to being 18 driving around at 2 am with my friends heading somewhere fun, or just getting out of a good movie. The memories so real I can even smell the air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror of my old Honda Civic. It makes me wonder...... Was it the same for my parents? I remember my parents listening to The Beatles and and other artist from when they were teenagers. Did they have the same attachment to the music that shaped their younger years? What memories came flooding back to them? Makes me wonder.
Cheguei aqui pra ouvir o som dessa, que é uma das minhas bandas preferidas, e fiquei surpreso de ver que tem muitos outros brasileiros aqui, que curtem também a banda, parabéns pra nós haha.
Music indeed is timeless, i play blues harp and have been playing over 35 years. I listen to old blues like Blind Willie Johnson, Howling Wolf, Little Walter, Muddy Waters and alot of old blues. Check out the movie Caddilac Records. Its about the beginnings of music and how rock music came about. Awesome movie. Beyonce plays Etta James and does a great job.
Before I rarely listened a music. But when I have accidentally seen Paul McCoy in the video "Bring me to life" I fell in love to him. So I have learned about 12 Stones. Lyrics are awesome. Now I often listen the songs of 12 Stones. I translate its into Russian language. Thank you for that you are there!
I listen to rap all the time, but man i've loved 12 stones as long as i can remember. They are just amazing and i'm pretty sure everyone in this world can agree they have amazing music!
i saw them on friday night and talked to paul after the concert about this song. he said it took him twenty minutes to write this. just a great group of guys and very talented musicians. these guys deserve everything that they get. also, silence is broken tore it up opening for them. never expected what i saw from an opening band. both did really well. ike
I was 16 when i heard to this song for the first time. I had no friends around me and rode the bike through the neighbourhood by myself. But this song always made me feel understoood
"O mundo que conheço está me puxando Mais e mais cada dia Me sinto como um homem estranho quando começo a orar Olhos maliciosos estão me observando Em tudo que faço No meio da escuridão, Senhor Meu espírito chama por você"
i have heard a lot of guitar solos in my day; this is not the hardest one but he made his solo fit perfectly in this song. Love the song; love the band
AMEN to that!!! They guys fucking rock in concert. I've seen them 3 times. They opened for RED 2 of those times. Awesome concerts. Great stage presence.
I think I was fifteen when I came across this video by accident. I'm twenty two now...I've changed so much but this song still rocks, and has helped me through some rough times. Love 12 Stones.
I know what you mean. God has blessed me even after I turned away from Him. All he asks is that we return with a change of heart. And we can believe His promises because we have a record of Him keeping His word, again and again. "I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go." (Abraham Lincoln)
2007, the year of the pixels! :D still a great song after all this time, and what a gargantuan improvement McCoy has made as a singer. And he seems to be getting better and better with age! :D
I love the whole song, but the solo gets me every single time lol. It has some of the greatest guitar tone i've ever heard. So glad i found this song on accident lol
Less young white people. I’m not trying to sound bad. I’m just dead serious. I read a music article a while back and it was saying less young white people is the cause. Most (not all) young people of color can’t relate to White guys jamming in a band. So rock like this eventually faded out.
I think you got it right. The video makes people think the song is about that girl, but listen to the second verse: "The world I know is pulling me, more and more each day. I feel I've been the odd man out, as I begin to pray. Spiteful eyes are watching me, with everything I do. In the midst of darkness lord, my spirit calls for you!
Heard a small portion of this song only a few days ago and came searching for it; found a whole new group that might be worth listening to. Nice feel, decent lyrics, not a bad video, cool vocals. Glad I found it, and RUclips isn;t trying to hawk money off these guys just yet. Awesome post. thanks. I'll check out some of their other stuff and hope it's as good
this song says "in the midst of darkness, lord the spirit calls of you" and this song was on WOW 2004 so i think 12 stones is a christian rock band not just a rock band
Never seen the vid. Love this song. Had a moment yesterday where I almost felt sorry 4 myself having been brushed off by some old friends b/c I'm a Christian now, when I've never said a word against them. Won't even give me a chance...& yeah, it does hurt. But like the song says, I promised to make "the sacrifice".
I love how so many people who mock Christian music turn right around and talk about how much they love 12 Stones. If you're one of those people, then ignore the video and try listening to the lyrics in this song...
I hate the way I feel. The world I know is pulling me more and more each day, my soul is prisioner of this body, the only exit left is get ridd off this body

I bought the cd, speeding down a dirt road in Wyoming at dusk jamming this!
Criminally underrated band. Still so good after all these years
yeah brother, I completely agree!!!!
My only complaint is there isn't more🤙
Que nostalgia! 😍

Eso es verdad
Lately I've been wandering
Off the narrow path
You've given me so many things that I've never had
And all in all I know it's you that always pulls me through
If you reach deep inside you'll see my heart is true
'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight

Yes I hate the way I feel inside
And I promise to make the sacrifice
(Come on)
The world I know is pulling me
More and more each day
I feel like the odd man out as I begin to pray
Spiteful eyes are watching me
With everything I do
In the midst of darkness lord
My spirit calls for you
'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight
And I know I need you in my life
Yes I hate the way I feel inside
And I promise to make the sacrifice
(You know sometimes deep inside)
I feel like this
'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight
And I know I need you in my life
Yes I hate the way I feel inside
And I promise to make the sacrifice
'Cause I hate the way I feel tonight
And I know I need you in my life
Yeah, the way I feel
I hate the way, the way I feel
Stop begging for likes
Lately I've been wandering
Off the narrow path

Some people don't get that music is timeless. When this song touched me, it was forever.

+Jim Chumley Most of all my favorite is gospel blues by The Glen Kaiser Blues Band.
this is really a good band why not getting the popularity don't understand
borhanus because they have Faith and Absolutes, no matter how real you are, the world hated HaShem first and they hate us also if we seek Messiah.
@@rhobbauer6141 I'm really not sure either. for a while I thought it was because they'd split up, but really they're just a small name group.
2019
They had their times I'm sure. Not any band can get a couple million views.
It's just that the post grunge era is gone
They had a pretty big run after touring with Finger Eleven & Our Lady Peace.
I remember when this came out. I still come back to it.
This album could come out today and still sound relevant.
Nothing new under the sun

This brings nostalgia, I was about to finish my high school when I first heard this song in 2005.
There are people that care.
God does.
He is one person that will stand by yu no matter what.
I'll be praying for yu!
God Bless you.
I listen to rap all the time, but man i've loved 12 stones as long as i can remember. They are just amazing and i'm pretty sure everyone in this world can agree they have amazing music!

Yeah, I feel that too...
The most underrated band of all times..
All albums by this band are amazing..
one of the best christian bands ever! i love this song! and there really good in concert.
Why christian?
@@TomaszGregorczyk because they described themselves as christians in the start of their career
Paul McCoy and 12 stones, thanks for great music throughout my childhood. This song helped change my life. Thank you!
i saw them on friday night and talked to paul after the concert about this song. he said it took him twenty minutes to write this. just a great group of guys and very talented musicians. these guys deserve everything that they get. also, silence is broken tore it up opening for them. never expected what i saw from an opening band. both did really well. ike

2:23 gives me goosebumps every time !! ERIC YOU ARE AMAZING !!!! such an amazing band, didn*t get near enough credit or fame ...
LOVE this band. This song. His voice. The music.
Everything about this band is heavensent.
"O mundo que conheço está me puxando
Mais e mais cada dia
Me sinto como um homem estranho quando começo a orar
Olhos maliciosos estão me observando
Em tudo que faço
No meio da escuridão, Senhor

Man that opening guitar. It's like you're listening this in the 2000s and this is coming from a kid born in the 90s
This Band got me into Rock 🪨 and since then they've been doing a lot of incredible things in my life thank you 12 stones for being part of my life
Definitivamente, uno d elos mejores tema que tienen. La letra es increible!
Esta es una banda excelente!!
I had all their albums and none of my friends liked them. But to me they were great to listen too.
music videos used to be about life and philosophy and emotions..
Rajendra Biswas yep!
now they are about boobies and butts!
well as long as expressing sensuality creative that has its place too
@@sarmientofer yep I'm 13 and all the over kids music is like that correct lol
and it wasn't about someones private part...
this is their best song in my opinion, words, riffs, everything just fits perfectly!!! and yeah they are a christian band
i have heard a lot of guitar solos in my day; this is not the hardest one but he made his solo fit perfectly in this song. Love the song; love the band

One of my favorites. Can't believe it's been 16 years.
its been years and I still feel like this most of the time ..
This album was an unbeatable effort. All 12S music is great, but none of their albums ever topped their first.
12 stones!!! Son lo máximo! Saludos desde Perú :DDD

Com certeza.

Gosto dessa banda porque eles não perderam a identidade do peso até hoje. Essa banda me lembra boa parte de minha adolescência. 🤟🏻🇧🇷
2000s songs are always the best so nostalgic good times i was born in that decade 😥
Una de las mejores canciones de la historia
Quite possibly one of the most under-rated rock bands of the last 5 years.
This brings bad the sad memories of me being bullied in school. I still endure cyber bullying
You are strong! I believe in you !
People are ignorant...the best thing you can do, is to pray for your strength and pray for they get understanding and compassion for others.

12 stones is a biblical reference and yes that's why they never got the attention they deserved. No sell outs.
Flyleaf is another good example of that.
I cant believe this is 12 years old.
