So cheerful, love the colours, clear instructions, have been trying to get semi abstract with my flower paintings, I enjoyed your video and have subscribed, thankyou!
I took one of your Skillshare classes and really enjoyed it. My florals could still use a bit more loosening up, but that will come with practice, I'm sure. Thanks for this helpful video. ❤
Elle, I Love watching and practicing your technique and suggestions. I do have a question. What is the specific name of the turquoise and the yellow you use? I love your work. I have signed up for an art class at my local art museum for abstract painting which starts in September.
That sounds like a fun class!! I use Golden fluid acrylic paint and the turquoise is called Turquoise (Phthalo) and the yellow is called Hansa Yellow Opaque. I usually buy them through Blick Art online but I have found them at Michaels and other craft stores, too!
Golden is definitely a high quality paint but in general, some colors are more opaque than others and you'll get a feel for that the more you paint.. Try mixing a little white into a translucent color and it will help make it more opaque.
Love the fact you explain but don’t over talk. This floral is beautiful!
A wonderful video, especially for super-beginners like me. Perfect amount of talking and quiet. Thank you!
Great explanation! Thank you for including all of the technical details.

@@ElleByers thank you so much.
My question is how do you finish the sides?
Elle, how did you learn this technique?
Mostly by watching videos and practicing. I've taken a few classes here and there.
I notice you can pop one color over another and it doesnt act transparent. Pricey paint or ?
