    9. Close of passenger surrounded by cabin staff being counselled
    10. Close of questionnaire handed to passengers
    11. Wide rear view of flying phobics in seminar with psychologist Dr. Keith Stoll
    12. Mid shot of Stoll
    13. Wide of seminar
    14. SOUNDBITE: (English), Dr. Keith Stoll, resident psychologist, Aviatours & British Airways Fear of Flying
"These changes include feelings sometimes of tingling in our extremities, we get palpitations, we get other symptoms all of which come together as a rather unpleasant experience and therefore those people on the plane are struggling with a collection of very, very noxious and unpleasant symptoms."
    15. Mid shot of passenger Ronan O'Gorman leaning forward to look through aircraft window
    16. Various of O'Gorman
    17. SOUNDBITE: (English), Ronan O'Gorman, suffers fear of flying
"over the years the problem got worse and worse and worse and worse, and flying went from being uncomfortable to being difficult and then went to almost impossible, to the point where I couldn't fly unless I had medication, diazepam normally. So I, three weeks ago, went on a flight without diazepam and the outward flight was fine, because my mind was occupied with what I was going there to do, the backward flight was extremely unpleasant, extremely unpleasant, so I decided the time had come to do something about it."
    18. Close of aircraft wing and sky through window
    19. SOUNDBITE: (English), Ann Michelle Vignaroli, suffers fear of flying

    23. Close pan of people learning relaxation techniques in seminar
    24. Close of people with closed eyes learning to relax
    25. SOUNDBITE: (English), Dr. Keith Stoll, resident psychologist, Aviatours & British Airways Fear of Flying
"The suggestion is that the feedback that certain groups of these muscles are under tension, is what seems to keep the anxiety going. Remember that the anxiety is aimed at trying to keep us running away from a predator, or from danger, and so it's important to keep us going without us thinking about it. One of the other triggers is the message that the smooth muscles are all under tension. So, if you can challenge that, then in that case you can actually change the response.".

I think the main problem is that I obviously cant leave the cabin when I want to therefore it is felt that there is essentially nowhere to go to feel safe and reduce the anxiety that accumulates before and during the process. They should have a section on the plane for folk who suffer this affliction, like there used to be a section for smokers lol

Even if they had such a section, you're still on the plane. It would be no different than sitting where others sit, unless your goal is not to freak out in front of others. However, there's nothing to be embarrassed about in the event you have a panic attack. You simply speak to the flight attendants and most passengers are going to understand and maybe even comforting. A lot of people are ill at ease in the air.

    • @byronhenry6518
      @byronhenry6518 5 лет назад +4

@@nagratna793 I suggest that you go a local airport, find a flight school, and take a discovery flight. The flight instructor will explain the technicalities of flying and will likely allow you fly the aircraft yourself. It's really good fun, and maybe you'll find a new passion.
I am a flight instructor and I've had plenty of people come in with some anxieties towards flying and some even total fear.
After the flight they almost always feel better about it now that they have a basic understanding of how it all works and how inherently safe the aircraft is. As well as how well trained their pilots, mechanics, air traffic controllers, and everyone else involved with airplanes actually are.
I love my life and my family, trust me,you will if thought flying was unsafe, I wouldn't have chosen this as my trade.

I too have a major fear of flying. Took a Greyhound bus from Phoenix to Vegas. 9 hours with some very strange people, won't go into details. Did not want to confront that again on my trip home. Realizing it was only an hour flight to get back to Phoenix I sucked it up and got a seat on a SW airlines flight. Except for a bumpy take off it was flawless. Realized F.E.A.R. really does stand for FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL. Will I fly again? Yes.

I use to have a big fear of flying. Before boarding once, I remember my boarding pass was wet and falling apart from me clutching it tight in my sweating palm. Taking off and landing and everything inbetween made me feel anxious. But luckily for me my fear kept lessening instead of getting worse. Now I can say that I actually enjoy flying if I have a window seat.

Srsly cars are very dangerous, there is a high chance of collision of another car. People think ships are the safest

@@titan9259 The fear is not being concerned about crashing into another plane though. The fear/concern is from being so high in the air, and if the plane malfunction. It can result in a deadly crash. You can't just pull a plane over to the side. If it need to be repaired or something. Smh. There is no need for people to put the same comment over and over in videos like this. It make you look condescending. At the end of the day we all have what others may think is an irrational fear. So we need to respect that in one another. Smh.

I understand. I pray that the Lord bless you to overcome your fear and face it in Jesus name. I'm concerned about flying, because I have never experienced it before. I think how will it feel, how will I respond to it, will I get past being so high up in the sky, and so on and so forth. I think a fear of heights can be an issue as well. I pray that the Lord give me the strength to face my fear in Jesus name. Because I feel it will be worth it. God bless you, and don't let anyone make you feel bad or shame because you have this fear. We are all afraid of something one way or another, and there isn't anything wrong with that. The most cowardly people always try to attack someone verbally as an attempt to make them feel bad for something they can't control initially. They feel like putting other people down make them powerful.

Not when you are in the middle of your tea or something. Lol because then you kind of worry if the tea will stay in the cup. I actually LOVE the take off. Like the landing less but that is because my ears have a tendency to hurt on landing. But its better in longer trips because then the ears have more time to adjust. And do also have a little to do with how the Pilot do the landing. If the landing is smooth and more step by step instead of "quick landing" its better.

During The Descent make sure it's a high-speed decent at 320 knots pitching the nose down 18 to 20 degrees and make sure that when you hit the turbulence to add a little power just for fun and then when you hit 10,000 ft too slow to 250 knots pull the power back really fast just for fun and then when you're coming in to rotate for landing in the flare on the runway pull the power off and do a nice solid Landing with the landing gear just for fun 😫

Many don't know how an airplane gets off the ground. I would do a walk around with them and explain all of the parts and what they do. And even take them into a maint hanger. And would do a few runs down the runway and not take off. Break them in easy. Taxi around let them get used to the inside and the sounds. Explain what the flaps do and spoilers and engines when they reverse, and tell them what happens in turbulence and not to be afraid,
