In this video, the copyright in the closing logo has the 1985 number in Roman numberals (MCMLXXXV), that’s because it came from a BBC Video VHS from 1985.
This was absolute nightmare fuel when I was a kid. Some of my favourite VHS tapes had these but I had to be VERY careful to avoid the intro and especially the outro.
I remember for sure that when Threads was available on the digital BBC store (lol remember that?), it had the end of the silent version of this ident and was dated 1987 so it was basically a tidied up VHS rip as it also lacked the alpine symphony. They gave me my money back for it as Amazon video credit when they closed the BBC store down, all five pounds of it so I just bought the first season of Harry Enfield and Chums. So unless you mean the old VHS release then that's rather unusual, but then I've heard of Netflix releases having BBC videos idents intact before. Also put of curiosity, what DVD release was that? I know there's like 3 or 4 DVDs long before the remastered version.
@@CherryTerrier I did see the closing version of that logo on the end of a DVD. I remember first seeing this logo on Dad's Army VHS back in 2002. I love this logo and the music.
Closing makes me wanna cry. Very nostalgic and depressive.
so many memories of BBC video
I remember this BBC video intro on my old postman Pat vhs tape's
And definitely the first two fireman Sam vhs tapes
This was taken from my Pigeon Street VHS tape. Might have lost it somewhere in the 2020s...
It's like I'm watching an intro from Doctor Who.
I have a feeling that this BBC Video intro was made by the same people as the Doctor Who intro in the early 80s.
But wasn’t dr who made in 2005 not the 1980s??
RarityMoon well, we found another 2 year old.

Also I'm not scared of it anymore before you wonder
The BBC VHS logo that scared me the most was 1997 one. That scared the daylights out of me.
I can kind of relate to that. I wasn't scared of it, but it's haunted me since my childhood. And I love the style of synth music to this day.
I used to be scared of the Big brother intro on VHS. Idk what it was but I used to think I was going to be sucked into the TV or something when I was that young
This is what i call a experience.

Same! It was the closing variant that petrified me however, and I really dont know why, maybe it was the music or the darkness of the logo.
Memories of Doctor Who on VHS
I remember this from my dad's Blackadder video
Kimble Justice Opening
I remember this from Fireman Sam the hero next door from 1988
