    It is amazing how important light is. Keep them in your dark closet or inside your home and they won't mate. If you raise them indoors, you NEED to have lights dedicated to the BSF that are as bright and as close to the love cage as possible, while maintaining the temperature and ventilation with a fan or fans. A simple ceiling light you are using for the room, is not even close to enough light. They are picky. Give them light.

      Please don’t fall for the 2030 scam. Recycling and being more efficient is great, but we need to be pro human. The WEF etc actually want to radically reduce the human population not believing innovation and earths resilience. I’m pro humanity so I believe in innovation not a mass depopulation.

      Fruit flies not so bad but you can use this flies catcher tapes that are sticky, and you hand them close to the feeding trough, they will reduce

    Hello Kim,
    Thanks for the video. Lots of good information.
    I made a small place to harvest wild BSF and it worked well but I couldn't keep the ants away.
    What do you think is the best way to keep ants out?
    Best wishes from the Philippines.

    • @ProteinMasterNairobi

      Keep your love cage raised and place/ apply used oil at the bottom rack stand

    • @koltoncrane3099
      @koltoncrane3099 Год назад

      Another option if you’re in the Philippines and by water is to use bamboo poles to set a bin to raise larvae above water. Or you could use cables to hang the bin above the ground from a tree.
      The simplest is what the protein master said and use oil on you legs supporting the bin.
      Oh you can use four wooden legs and use like four coffee cans or four five gallon buckets. Put oil or antifreeze or something. Gas may evaporate I think. But use a five gallon bucket and fill it a ways and that probably would be easiest since you wouldn’t have to reapply grease or worry about dirt

    Excellent...just what I was seeking. The fine details to handle a sensitive insect. Yes, treat the flies as you would treat your bodies. Do we make love in a hot, poorly ventilated room, being dehydrated? Okay, humans have other criteria but these flies are lovers too.
