Wow awesome vid! I just moved to Washington not even a month ago and I caught my first two salmon ever (they were chums) drifting a pink bead. Haven’t had any luck the past 2 weeks now so maybe I should try the jig and bobber technique you’ve shown and try to target some coho
Thank You! I appreciate the support for the channel and the business. I love making spinners knowing that you guys are out there catching fish with them... so cool!
Jon!! I saw when you made this comment and meant to get back to you but was busy at the time, then it got buried by other comments lol. Luckily i always try to make my way through all comments i haven't responded to yet. It was good meeting you bro. I still have your number...... lets keep in touch and do some fishing!
@@AnglingAddictsPNW Would love to man! Definitely down to hook up w/u again! No worries on the late reply, life is what life is man :) Keep up the sick content and we'll find time to do some fishing!
Those Sturgeon are friggin tanks!! and they are built to stay down with ease. I want to actually go out and target them on an open day. It's been a long time, but it seems i'm always chasing something else around. I'm guessing it didn't take too long to figure out that fish on the end of your line wasn't actually a Salmon lol. Thanks for the support.. Good luck out there!
haha my buddy Brandin is always impressed with my spinner skills. I feel like i've got that technique on lock. It's one of the reasons i decided to get my float fishing skills dialed in. Hopefully winter steelhead fishing is productive this year. Did i just see a post on FB of you with a Steelhead already?
Thank you Laurie... i do seem to find some picturesque places to fish sometime. The sunrise here can be absolutely stunning! Haha Remi IS getting big... Just wait until the next video with her in it. I think a lot of people will be blown away. She's like twice the size now... still my baby :)
Some are by choice and some are regulation.... depending on where I am. I fish enough that I don't need to keep everything I catch and can be a bit picky. I'm kind of a snob most of the time and only want top quality meat, not the "it'll smoke" type lol. Honestly I'm satisfied the moment I hook and land a fish.. I could leave empty handed after a day of slaying fish and be content.
Thank you.... i'm still working on the camera setup for the Kayak. I had it all dialed in for trout fishing, had good angles and whatnot but that setup doesn't work for Salmon and Steelhead considering the placement of my tripod in the front of the kayak. I think I've got it figured out now and can't wait to get back out on the kayak next year!! I'm so glad i bought that thing. what kayak did you get?
@@AnglingAddictsPNW That all makes sense. I went with the Jackson YuPik. It seemed the most flexible for what I needed. I hooked up a trolling motor with a remote. I still need to get a GoPro setup, but I think I'm going to invest in a Garmin fish finder first.
Thank you, all these trips were a lot of fun. Wish i could have gotten some better footage and put out videos for all these trips but this was still fun to put together.
Thank you, ya I like the clips strung together as well, maybe just not with some of the crappy shots that I got. I wish all these trips would have worked out well enough to have put out their own video but you can't win them all lol.. I backed out and checked on the song. I thought I would have put it in the description but since I didn't, it's one from youtube's music list for videos so it'll be easy to find.. I will let you know soon.. I like it!
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it. I could have made quite a few videos had I gotten better footage during these trips.. The compilation approach worked but some of those shots sucked lol. I'm glad you still enjoyed it!! thanks
Good Video Nick 😊. New Subscriber 👌. I like fishing 🎣 the Klickitat River in Washington. Also fish Ice Harbor Dam (below) on the Snake. Excellent Steelheading. On the Peninsula, I like fishing the Ho, Sol Duc, Calawa and Bogachiel. Excellent fishing 🎣. For Humpies I like the Skagit River. Stay Safe 💕 💞 🙏 🙏
Great video buddy, some good fish caught in this compilation 👍🏼 would love to hit some of those “secret spots” with you, since I frequent them quite often myself already keep up the good work !
Do you ever do guided fishing trips for bank angling or know anyone who does? I started this last year here in Oregon and have still not landed a salmon (6-7 eight hour fishing trips) and would love to go out and learn from someone with your experience!
salmon just seem to know how to use that current, I fished the Kenai river and that river is so fast and so deep you had to have your bail sinched all the way down and just horse them out
Thank You, I like the Okuma stuff too... I think i was primarily using my X-series for throwing spinners and my Guide Select Classic for bobber fishing.. I think both rods have the Helios reel on them. The X-series rod is by far my favorite rod. I'm glad i switched from Lamiglas, i feel like i've had less issues with my gear since i'm pretty rough on my stuff
@@AnglingAddictsPNW I have heard good stuff about both models. I will have to take a look at them. The SST's don't stay on the shelf long. I shied away from Lami after one snapped when I was stringing it.
Thank you, kinda wish i would have gotten better footage so i could have made some of these trips their own video but the mix of good clips with some crappy shots will have to do this time haha. thanks for watching
This would be a lot more enjoyable if we got a shot of the fish. It’s no fun to watch u fight a fish and not get to see what u were fighting the whole time. Just some feedback for the channel. Nice work slayer!
In my defense, there are plenty of shots of fish, the rest with crappy shots or angles, etc. are the reasons none of those fishing trips actually made it to their own video. I figured a compilation was the best approach to at least get these shots out. I would have preferred the 7 or 8 quality videos over this one for sure. It will all come together eventually lol. Thanks for watching and for the feedback
haha it has been a pretty crazy season for me. I had to run all over the place but it was totally worth it. Kinda nice getting away from areas i'm familiar with to explore new ones
Had to shut the video off early. Most of the time I don't know if he's using bait or lure and what type. Seen enough of his rod and reel, the ground and his feet, horizon, water, and barely a glimpse of the fish he caught. Later....
Haha well that’s understandable and I apologize for those bad clips. I’m usually better at showing what I’m using as well as showing the fish. These are all clips from videos I didn’t make since it wasn’t my best camera work, so I just made it into a compilation. sorry you didn’t like it. Catching salmon can be enough work on its own, trying to make a quality video at the same time takes a little bit of super power. They can’t all be top notch. Thanks for watching as long as you could though.
@@AnglingAddictsPNW I can't go fishing for awhile, so I thought I would do what I always do and watch a few videos to ease up the urge. I watch several anglers videos and every one's latest video was not about fishing. One was shooting squirrels, another was boat maintenance ( which is important ) so I thought I would see how Nick at Angling Addicts are doing . I was actually getting dizzy watching your hand going in circles crankin on your real and said that's enough of this vid. LOL. You're a very good fisherman and I can feel the energy and enthusiasm watching you hogging in some nice size salmon and steehead. I don't know how you find all those honeyholes but I imagine you paid your due's and put a lot of time exploring thru the years/word of mouth ect. like we all do but you found the right ones. Personally I wouldn't try to film a salmon catching video without maybe a headband go pro or a tripod whatever works for the conditions. They just have a real bad attitude when you hook them to start with. Thanks for putting this together, I know there's quite a few that liked it. I did stay on your channel and watched about 3 older reruns and got relief with those. Good stuff even the second time around, I'll be back. PS, I did give a thumbs up regardless LOL.
So I like your channel and all bro, but I’m from the PNW and I’m pretty sure you can only keep Salmon with a clipped adipose fin… A lot of your keepers still had the adipose fin so just make sure you show the whole fish in your video so we know you aren’t keeping natives. So unless you can justify killing native salmon, you’re loosing my respect.
Understandable. I only fish legal setups and I only keep fish I’m allowed to keep. When you say you are from the PNW, I’m assuming you are from Oregon, not Washington. Here in Oregon you can almost never keep natives, though there are the occasional openings for limited unclipped coho or chinook. Like our recent opening for unclipped tidewater coho and last years opening for unclipped chinook on select rivers as well. Any of the native chinook I kept were all from Washington where you were/are allowed to keep unclipped fish. Which is why I’m assuming your also an Oregonian, considering most Washington anglers would recognize the bodies of water that I’m fishing and would know whether I’m allowed to keep natives or not. I’m usually better at showing the fish but these were just clips that never made it to their own video since it wasn’t my best camera work. I appreciate your concern and asking for clarification. Just know that I will never be out there fishing illegally or keeping fish that I shouldn’t be.
Now that is a great justification on keeping the natives lol I did not know that WA had openings for keeping non clipped salmon… I do fish Oregon a lot more so Washington is still newer on the regulations to me. I might have to pick up a Washington license here soon and check when they allow Native catches🤙🏼 Thank you for informing me brother, fish on!
