Yeah. I wish I could say the same. 😔 I personally never owned a Dreamcast (close cousins did) and the only game we had was Sonic Adventure. Only played PSO Ep I&II on Gamecube port.

I really miss the days of when the Dreamcast first came out and I had this game , it was my very first Online game I played and hearing this music brings back so many fond memories, a simpler less stressful time in my life lol.
Same, the Dreamcast era was like the peak of my life. I remember just being totally blown away with being able to play such an awesome game with people from around the world. I almost couldn't believe it was even real. I didn't want to do anything but play PSO for months. I usually didn't even sleep outside of school and events in order to have more time to play, lol.
Twelve years on, the fire still burns. There will never be another like it. A game relatively simple in concept, with a soundtrack unmistakable. Am I "old"? Darn straight, I am. But this game was a gem, and it still holds true, even today. Especially since we're never going to see PSO2 in the US because apparently we don't matter.
I'm probably gonna get roasted for this... I didn't have a Dreamcast. However, I remember fondly playing this in my middle school days on my GameCube. Hands-down one of my favorite games for the GameCube, right next to paper Mario and the thousand year door.
The GameCube version was mostly just an expansion so it was still great. Also cool that it allowed local multi-player. I played all the versions as they came out. I only hated the Xbox version because you could hear annoying kids talking. I got the ASCII GameCube keyboard/controller. PSOBB on PC was the accumulation of all versions and is the best.
Nah, you don't deserve being roasted for reminiscing. PSO reached a ton of platforms, especially following the Dreamcast's short life cycle. Middle school or high school and having memories of Thousand Year Door puts those years at like... 2004? So no one can really blame you for not having a Dreamcast.
This and a lot of the Episode 1 music kinda surprised me when I decided to play bad. It's neat, and I think every motif and inspiration has something of equal value for each game. 'ruining them' being one hell of a stretch.
:'3 remembering the first time I began playing this game... If I could do it all over again, I would do it gladly. Thank you Sega for such a great set of memories. :]
Yeah, at the time of me posting that I hadn't yet played PSO2 more than a few minutes on the JP server. Now that I've played it, my thoughts on it have changed. Don't get me wrong, PSO2 is good... but it's no PSO1.
Chrono Pony And the dreamcast version has a slew of issues with it like horrific drop rate chances, and class balances. The zones are still there, and you can play it in 1080p on schtserv.
Man, I've played this level many times on the Xbox version, this level makes a great first impression on what Ringo is about. I like that there's a beautiful part of the planet, that there's water streams and wildlife plants and creatures. This level as well as the music is burnt into my head. I've never complete Phantasy Star Online but recreated characters so many times. I would love to complete the game and get more further into the game than getting up to the cave level. I like how the difficulty spike is too.
First time I played PSO wad just a few years ago. No prior exposure to it other than a half finished map for srb2 from ages ago As soon as the music started I couldn't help but feel this almost nostalgic feeling for a game I've never played and music I've never heard Fucking magic
Stumbling back across this brings back so many amazing memories. Me and my brother would play it on the original Xbox in offline mode. Part of me wishes I held onto that console, just so I could revisit our characters from time to time. Got bitch slapped by alot of boomas!
You guys have NO idea how mad I am at not giving this game a proper chance as a crazed Unreal Tournament/ Halo-ridden dumb dumb zombie. I truly understand all you guy's wonderful comments on how grandatious this game was and is (I'm playing on PSOBB tmr
Only those who were there for this and the Dreamcast era can truly know the magic of that time
Yeah. I wish I could say the same. 😔
I personally never owned a Dreamcast (close cousins did) and the only game we had was Sonic Adventure. Only played PSO Ep I&II on Gamecube port.
Every time I used to play Phantasy Star Online, I felt so alone even when I played with others, Always.
I still have it...the saddest part is that although it's amazing to play, it's just not in the same era...today's time sucks

Gamecube player. This soundtrack is eternal.
i love the feeling of isolation this music gives, even when you're playing with friends it still feels like you're alone
It's the planet Ragol man. It makes you feel that way
I feel like no matter which games followed the music was never as beautiful or atmospheric as this games tracks. Best in the series.
I currently have this as the "ambient" song for my Guild Wars 2 playlist.
Provides just the correct atmosphere to a colorful lush forest. Which is surely enough infested with monstrosities.
It's 2001 and it's three in the morning and I'm still playing PSO with some people form Europe.

I can relate with each and every word.
You and me both bro. (Also your avatar speaks to me in ways I shouldn't talk about here.)

I bring forth GREAT news, as PSO2 is indeed coming to the West.
Happy PSO2 beta weekend!!
our generation may have been passed but it is not over....
would have prefered this game instead
Now look PSO2 is in the US haha
Always makes me happy when part 2 stops playing and fades back into this...
same here.
I've played PSO Episode 1 so much that any time I'm in a forest, this starts to play in my head.
Now that I read this, I'll start to do the same.
Same, at least with certain types of forests. That's what made me think of this song today.
I liked to listen to this song while playing alone. So relaxing. An escape to phantasy.

@@ix8750 Yes! I played the dreamcast version via emulator, felt just a bit different than the gamecube version but not by much.

Same I am apart of middle school gamecube PSO culture myself
I love the fact that PSO2's Naberious Forest takes musical inspiration from certain parts of this song!
A little.
I wish pso2 had more music from old phantasy star, without ruining them.
This and a lot of the Episode 1 music kinda surprised me when I decided to play bad. It's neat, and I think every motif and inspiration has something of equal value for each game.
'ruining them' being one hell of a stretch.
@@Noodle1423 We get further and further away from Phantasy Star's original concept with each game.
it's not a surprise really

Crying listening. Too Nostalgic.
most legendary song
The best dungeon crawler MMO game imo
PSO2 surpasses it, but that's unsurprising, since it's, well, PSO.
@@kavenoff777 nah pso 2 dosen't have the same feel. You don't really help each other out as much with the classes.

so much nostalgia, i can actually visually remember running through this place right now ^_^ wish i had my old dreamcast just to play it again :)
Well, there is always Blue Burst via someplace like schtserv.
yeah, but its not on the dreamcast, and thats were the true nostalgia lies.
Chrono Pony
Well, you're just being picky. D: Get a controller!
but, the nostalgia of playing on the dreamcast version though :'(

I can honestly say the music from PSO has more heart than any of the Phantasy Stars that came after it.

I honestly always thought that "chirrrr" sound was just the Dreamcast disc drive.

PSO on SEGA AGES Switch please ! With Online. *drooling...
Now I want to play Phantasy Star online On GameCube PC and Dreamcast as well as PSO2 and PSO2NG
It's time for a PSO themed Starfinder 2e game
Naaaail!
Bring the Newman some supplies.
