It is extremely sad that the top manufacturers in the world will never bring their best (selling) cars to India, because of insane taxation and duties, and Indian customer mindset (where we value 50-inch touchscreens, sunroofs, and LED-LED-LED over safety, driving dynamics, and driving technology).
This joke of a govt should consider changing the laws of taxation in the vehicle department.Also the MVD should loosen up their dumb rules and regulations

I just don't understand that we talk about driving dynamics, driver feedback. I don't think we have the roads to have car which satisfies a petrol head. Either bad roads or crowded roads is an issue which is faced in every city. So what matters is safety, features and ride quality which people actually notice and understand. We don't have the place to take a mustang with the V8.. leave that even the Eco boost engine do you really think that mountain speed brakers are good for that car. Now forget those big cars most families won't buy a car the size of gloster because it's a lot of stress to drive such big cars in crowded roads.
Faisal, e-power is a series hybrid. Which means only the electric motor is connected to the wheels. The ICE is not. It is a mere generator. Which is why it gets away even without a flywheel. Series hybrid is not as efficient as a parallel hybrid because it's ICE cannot settle at a lower RPM during cruising speeds like the ICE in a parallel hybrid can. Which is why it is promoted only for city use. Think this powerplant will be nice for the Triber?

Loved the Captain Planet analogy. Instead of showcasing those 3 cars, and planning to launch two of the more expensive ones, Nissan should bring this into our market. I have driven the Kicks (both engine) being sold in India market. It's a great car which just lacks the oomph factor which this can bring to it. It's a very stable and powerful car but mileage is nothing to talk about.

Now it's time for mitsubishi- nissan- renault to lauch the mitsubishi outlander phev,pajero sports and lancer to kill the fortuner's,tuscon and the verna/city dominantion. I would also love the Japanese to launc mazda in India. I absolutely love their cars.
