    Hey guys! I always love your videos! I don't always comment, but I always watch them and they are very useful to me. This one is excellent too! You really do an excellent job! Thanks a lot!
    I always get very nervous in an interview. Answering questions objectively, with common sense and clarity is very difficult when you have to overcome nervousness.

    Thank you two for one more episode. I think my hearing is getting more accurate. There is a missing part of the dialogue at 2:24 subtitle. "...practicing answers, (brushing up a bunch of skills) and I think my..." Am I correct? By the way, I uually prefer the British English, in general, but for some reason, Kat's English is pretty easy to understand

    Hi. Still don't understand the meaning of " rewriting my cover letter ". Could you please explain it abit more? And why did you rewrite it? Thanks.

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  8 дней назад +1

      Good question!
      You might change (or rewrite) your cover letter to tailor it to different jobs.
      If you were applying for an IT job, you might mention more of your IT and computer experience in the cover letter.
      But if you were applying for a job in a hospital, you might mention more of your medical, nursing, or caring experience in the cover letter.
      When companies read the cover letters, if they don't seem to match the job description very well, they will probably throw it away! That's why some people might rewrite each cover letter they send out, so it is carefully tailored to the job opening and they are more likely to get an interview.
      I hope that makes sense!

    Can I use “We’re a really good fit.” to describe good friends, good partners or even a romantic relationship?
    Thanks for your answer. 😊

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  8 дней назад +1

      Oo good question!
      Yes, you can definitely use this phrase to talk about friends, relationships, colleagues and jobs too.
      - My husband and I are a really good fit.
      - My new work schedule is a really good fit for me now that I have my baby.
      You might also hear: "a really good match"
      - I think we're a really good match, I hope we go on another date.
      - My colleague and I are a good match, we work well together as a team.
      I hope that helps! 🙏

    may I know what's the difference between this time n this time around?

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  8 дней назад

      Good question! There's actually no difference!
      You can say:
      - [This time] we will start at 10:30
      - [This time around] we will start at 10:30.
      They would have the same meaning! Hope that makes sense!

    Surprisingly, I have never been on interviews , I am sure it could be rather nerve wrecking. I wish I had an online job nowadays.
    What 's the difference between apply for a job or apply to a job?
    Thank you!

    • @highlevellistening
      @highlevellistening  9 дней назад +1

      Good question!
      There is a small difference between [apply for] and [apply to].
      You will [apply for] + a job / a position
      - I applied for a job at Microsoft.
      - I applied for a manager position at my company.
      - I think you should apply for that job, you would be perfect for it!
      You will [apply to] + a company / a department / verb
      - I applied [to teach] at the local school.
      - I applied to Meta as a software engineer.
      Honestly though, you can often use apply for or apply to interchangeably and you will always be understood, so don't stress about it too much!
