Yet again, another class tutorial and I gotta say,I love the dynamics of this rig and I’m going to make one up this afternoon whilst watching the olympics 😉👍🏻
I'll give this a go John, off to norton disney in a couple of week so I'll try these and the rig. Great video again 👏 Off topic who the hell gives it a thumbs down lol some people just can't be positive! I would love to know the reason for that dislike?
I can’t get on board with this one John sorry :( with any wafter rig as it’s lifted up a blob of putty and tightening to the lead will flip the hook into this position anyway. I get the idea behind it though. Much of a muchness now with the amount of rigs you’ve covered but a couple of ideas of you did want to do more: Double bottom bait parrot or claw rig (Hearn) or Pecks slip D multi. Love the vids mate 👊🏼
I preferred this style of presentation with the bait up against the eye of the hook.. works well if the rig is compact and tidy. With longer shank hooks the presentation looks crude..
A rig developed by John 'shoes' Jones after looking at a rig" frank warwick" was messing with on the bank . And one I've had great success with people giving this a thumbs down will never improve probly sit there week in week out blanking' to even doubt the mighty Shoes and Warwick you're on a losing streak 💯
Deff not in carp fever " I've got the book ' what I stated was from an interview with' shoes' in advanced carpfishing may 2010 that i have" in wich he explains how years before he and Frank developed this rig ! I am sure on that 100% 😊
@@craig2622 I have seen that before that somewhere , and that's a definite, can't remember where ,now I have to go look through all my books , getting old now , my memory is a bit off ,but I know for a fact it was before when you say ,
@dan if you scroll down the comments you will find Mr Dennis webhofer who beleaved it was piet vogel who invented it " and who should answer his comment ' frank warwick !!! Have a look save you going through all those mags 😄 all the best craig .

Location of the shot on the hook is not correct. The shot on the hook is invented by Piet Vogel from the 🇳🇱! As quoted here below, the inventor is Frank Warwick. Thank you Frank!
I’m sorry but I showed Piet Vogel and Coon Coops this rig when I was with PB products later on they made a dropper instead of the shot FACT I came up with this rig whilst fishing with John Jones while we were on Birch Grove in 1998 John and I both had joint input with it as wafters which were not often used back then outfished pop ups so we wanted a rig that fished a pop up very close to the bottom but dropped weight onto the floor of the carps mouth. It was very effective
All very interesting but as we discovered many moons ago a bottom bait trapped round in the same position as your shot does exactly the same job without the faff, or need to buy silly little overpriced hookbaits.

Great video john never seen that rig before looks perfect for a critically balanced bait will haft to give it a go on upper tamar in a couple of weeks
Good luck Tommy!
Amazing video
Thanks!
Nice to see a video without a London/Essex accent.
Thanks! 😃
Love the videos John.
Feel that there's to much going on with this rig
This rig was used in the very first Korda underwater series. Oh the memories.
Its been around a while!
Frank showed me this on redes twenty years plus ago. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
So can I have these pre main with the bait on and left in my box or make them without the bait attached ?
Its best to store the rig without the hookbait then attach the hookbait at the time of use.
Seen a lot of rigs since 1977 lol some were terrible.we did use this rig years ago I think god's dog was a pup then lol.
Haha! Thats a long time ago...
No fisheries near me allow braid of any kind, so whats the alternative?
Do I need to add weight to the other main line for when I cast?
Yep still need a casting lead.
Another great vid 👍🏻 but John please get some new Scissors ✂️
Working on it!
🤣🤣
You took words out of my mouth🤣🤣🤣
What benefits are Square baits?
Just something a little different than the norm!
Please can someone recommend some carp fishing venues in the County Durham/North East England area. Clubs, day ticket, syndicates, etc.
Ok, thanks. Recommendations across the country then?
Unfortunately I was blessed to previously live in Shropshire so was just hoping someone had the inside track for up here.

The shot on the hook rig was in carp fever by Kevin Maddocks I think , well before when you said , I am sure on that , but not 100%

Can bottom baits be used or only pop ups
Yes bottom baits can be used, wafters etc.
Well, could give it a shot. but dont really like the position of the rig with the hook point straight down.
Wonder how many twigs branches you catch ever cast lol
Wen dun the drawers get done for the winners of the stuff to win

@@frankwarwick8068 hi Frank, just read your post! Thank you for this interesting answer. I will correct my post and thank you for replying :-).
Sure I've seen this rig named "Bald Rig"??
an old frank warwick rig

Only thing is the shot could end up being swallowed if it comes pff
Wealth of knowledge and great videos but you present all your tutorials as if your explaining to children. It's very very annoying sorry.
Sorry about that - a lot of new anglers watch these videos so we like a slow pace to absorb all the info.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV I suppose I can manage to get through it 😜 keep it up
Too finnicky, to my taste
Terrible rig!
Pointless!
