- A random look at several historical and recent bayonets that fit the AR series.
The knuckleduster grips can be purchased from us, or from GunnysSurplus.com

I have a Vietnam era bayonet for my AR. I am a Vietnam Vet. My AR has a M16 1/12 twist barrel . Bayonet fits perfectly . Not a knock off.
Nice work. Thanks for sharing. Keep it up!
Nice collection. Btw as a pro tip the long bayonets tend to get stuck in "target" more & are a bit more unwieldy than the shorter ones are.
And they really work better on much longer weapons. OTOH, if you're standing guard and need to intimidate potential hostiles...
Just don't stick it in as far......longer is better
When I was a kid, I had a Sunday school teacher who was an infantrynan in the Korean War. When I went into the Army, he told me if my bayonet gets stuck in the enemy, just pull the trigger. True story.
@@TheDieselbutterfly That's what she said...
Wow, that Swiss pioneers bayonet mod is amazing! I think I am going to have to make me one of those. Maybe with a knuckle-duster on it. Thanks for the great ideas!
One idea I alway had was making the musket style bayonets for ar15 due to all the free floating rails now on the market
very cool. i made a bayonet for my AR15 /M4gery because the need for a 16 inch barrel and then the muzzle brake/flash hider made the muzzle ring rattle around on the barrel instead of the muzzle brake. so i took a mosin 91/30 spike cut it to the proper lenth and welded surplus M7 hardware on, made a custom walnut grips and there you go. it will fit on my SP1 and my Galil the muzzle ring is just at the very end of the break. looks wicked. at the time the mosin spikes were $20 or so.
M4gery.😂 Yeah I have one with a pinned and welded faux suppressor. I'm gonna have to get creative.
with a 16in barrel you need a mid-length gas system to get the gas block to muzzle length right.
Hey buddy! Just found your channel - this is Chalupa from the Hall and the Forge.
“Its nice and pointy and sticky, but that’s about it.” Literally the only things you need a bayonet to be. Seriously though, very informative video and great work on that custom made one! 👍
Reminds me of one of the stories dad told often about Army basic training. They were doing the crawl under elevated barbed wire while live rounds were fired overhead. They were required to do the crawl with rifles with the bayonets installed. The bayonet was never ever to be called a knife.
So there they are, belly crawling along, when someone shouts "Cease fire! Cease Fire! I lost my knife!"
And everyone got smoked 😂
Good video… I also enjoyed your sense of humor… very sharp! Ouch! You have great skills for fabrication and design with your specific bayonets… Well done!!
I’d be really interested to see how you made that Kabar/knuckleduster hybrid. Great video. Thank you.
Love the tanto blade you made!
I remember some Marines in my company that acquired M-7 Bayonets with longer blades prior to deployment, reportedly German made..Made in West Germany ( circa ) 1980s. I like having bayonet on my rifle when firing it is undesirable, but also as you aptly pointed out, for probing, places you do not want to place your hand.
That gab on the M7 handle is on purpose. It's to keep the plastic grips away from the metal to reduce shock force that could potentially crack them.
Good information.
Our unit had the USMC bayonets in the rifle cages and were only issued when Marines or Sailors deployed to avoid people selling them off for beer money. Loved them to death
Nice Bayonet mods. Thanks for sharing. Just dropped by and subbed.
Please do a video on customizing bayonets. I would love to have something like an M1905 bayonet for my mossberg 590.
talking ar15 stuff and I'm the 223 on the thumbs up button lol! who is number 556 going to be?😃
Iraq 2004 all we had was homemade hillbilly armor. We pointed our barrels out where the windows used to be. Heavily populated towns people would back away further when guys started putting their bayonets on.
Wait, that Swiss pioneer bayonet fits the AR-15 without modification, or you added the mounting doohicky yourself?
I got an M7 bayonet for a 20" A1(ish) clone and it doesn't snap onto the lug.
I realized that I can get one of the claw lock things on the bayonet to actually lock if I push it closed with a bit of force, but the other claw will not budge and lock. It sure looks like everything's ok but something must be off. Maybe the "shelf" on the lug on the gas block is like a hair short of where it needs to be? I'm talking about the little "shelf" that's on the front of the lug that goes right into the back of the bayonet. I'm thinking about taking a Dremel to it and just polishing it down like a hair. I dunno worst thing that happens is it doesn't work and I'm back to where I'm at now anyway.
Well I guess I’ll just have to add a knuckle duster bayonet to my wish list, dammit
geissele makes a m16 style lug for modern handguards
I have a Vietnamese era m7/8 bayonet with knife sharpener(handle included.
Where did you find the KABAR bayonet? Thanks
Demill is required for certain categories
I have a Probious M9.
is there any bayonets out there, made specifically for the carbine gas system. the mid length will fit but rattle.
Hmmm my bullpup short barrel 50 Beowulf wants the long blade for my bayonet option
Didn't know about most of these.
6:30 dónde conseguiste esa bayoneta M7 TANTO ?? jamás eh visto una igual, coleccióno bayonetas m7
Where do you keep finding the m7 pommels? I have a kabar/m7/knuckleduster hybrid project and i messed up the only one pommel I had 😅
I just want a spike or “sword” bayonet that uses the same mounting system
I can make one, but I'm backlogged.
@@SharpPointyThingsdo you have a website or a mailing list? Whenever you start getting through the backlog I would be interested in commissioning something
Stoner kcb77 knives and bayonets are the best.
How about a rendition on the M1 Carbine units?
I will probably cover other bayonets in future.
Ah... But, where's the Fabled
"Chainsaw" Bayonet at.... 😅
Over the top? I don't think so. Why don't you put a knuckle duster on the Swiss hole maker?
I'm actually making a knuckle duster ninjato bayonet.
6:05 thats hilarious
Is that 1914 bayonet a reproduction?
No, it had a damaged hilt.
And just to be clear, a stock 1914 bayonet will NOT fit on an AR-15? @@SharpPointyThings
I’m going to have to google that British bayonet charge.
With L85 bullpups, no less.

@@petesheppard1709 yeah, a stabbing range of maybe 3 feet
Never, ever probe for land mines with any metallic object- magnetic detonation is a thing.
If you need a giant bayonet on an AR go buy a garand😅
Well, okay, but I like the one on my Winchester trench gun.
