This was an excellent explanation! I just watched google's version of it and it's extremely hard to understand because they don't give very many example and assume way to much. Someone asking "What is REST" wouldn't already have the level of understanding that they are assuming. You did a great job making a statement and then immediately following up with an example.
Great vid! But just to add to coolpix46's comment, @08:40, AddCustomer and UpdateCustomers have both PUT methods for the same URI. Should it be POST for AddCustomer?
I could not understood the 4th point that everything should be representational like XML for JSon format.Could you please elaborate more.Was this not used in earlier version.How is it different

it depends.....if you consider ARPANET, which was the mother of the modern internet, the we go back to 1969, and it lasted till 1990, and they already had emails and file transfer, but everything was mainly confined within army or universities....do you remember the movie "Wargames"? :-))
yes I supposed so, but I was trying to understand why he said 40....if you mean http it's one year, if you mean www then it's another,, I suppose he is talking about the internet origins because it's the only year close to "more than 40 year ago" :-)
