I agree, the overall broadcast was really lackluster. For me, I’m a little burnout from all these “The Matches” since COVID. As Taylormade staffers, there was probably already a solid chemistry between Rory and Scottie. Plus, on paper a Rory/Scheffler duo would crush just about any team, so to see things play out the way they did just didn’t surprise anyone.
Broadcasting golf is just plain difficult. It only works for an event with a course full of players because every hole has a dedicated replay system. When you only have 4 players, there’s going to be too much down time.
Honestly I had to turn it off. It was so boring. Beyond boring. YT golf works because you don't have to wait 20 minutes til the next shot. The announcers were boring. The players were boring. I feel like if YT golf could be on display to casuals, people will love it.
Rory and Scottie absolutely crushed it. So cool to see this level of golf even at night under the lights.
They dominated as expected. It would probably be more fair to put 3 v 1 against Scottie 😂

Agree full that “The Matches” are getting stale. I’m sure the ROI wasn’t there for the sponsors. Good point about the TM staffer synergy!

Totally valid point 👍

I don’t blame you for turning it off you didn’t miss much! Also any moment worth watching was swiftly regurgitated on all social media outlets.
