Jessica sang amazingly, other members covered her parts very well, but they will always be Jessica’s parts in many’s eyes as mine, Taeyeon is to this day my bias, but I missed seeing & hearing Jessica with the group so much, our ice princess I still think of you.
Its not difficult for them to sing jessica part,but to make it sound original like jessica is the hardest part. The members actually sang jessica part very well,but perfect like jessica?not almost.of course when the members sings jessica part they want to sing with their own signature vocal but of course it will not be the same feel/impact like jess did. Jessica for me, she has very unique voice & very soothing to my ears (IMO).she might doesnt have strong voice like taeyeon or tiffany but when it comes to high note in every song jessica part is what i really like the most.so far in kpop i havent heard any other idols sounds like the ice princess.this is just my opinion.im not tried to make fan wars here.but support for all of them.
Tbh jessica voice is the signature for all snsd songs.. after 2015 snsd songs is missing something .. and i feel like taeyeon is struggling after jessica is leaving cause she has carry the songs by herself.. before it’s always TaengSic who sing louder in the chorus.. i just missed how TaengSic harmonization in all snsd songs.. hmmmm

anyone saying sunny is the better replacement for jessica is straight up lying. just because her voice is “closer” in tone than the other members; which i disagree with yoona is imo a better choice but solely for the simpler parts. when technique and agility is required taeyeon and seohyun are the better substitutes. seohyun has shown over the years how she’s able to sound like almost all members and her range is also most similar to sica’s
I think you're underestimating Sunny, she has the second best upper range in SNSD (second to Jessica of course), many vocal specialists said that Sunny's head voice range and technique is the reason she is a force to be reckoned with in the vocal line of the group. As it is her strength me and many people would say that Sunny being close sounding to Jessica and better able to handle her lines than YoonA, Sunny is the best fit for Jessica's lines as this video proves since Sunny's cover of Jessica's run in The Boys is by far the best even though Seohyun and Tiffany are better vocalists overall.
If this was years ago, maybe, but now 2021 when so many things hace happened, i dont think these lines would be difficult. There are numerous talented koreans who can sing those lines well and maybe, just maybe, even better than the original. Talent abounds in south korea nowadays.
