Yer, I had that Chet Atkins fella figured out by the time I was fourteen... I figured it was several bridges and thumb picks to far for moi. Anyhow, I went to the cross roads, done the deal... and now twelve bar six and sevenths sound cool... :( Tommy has the gift... no doubt about it.
And I still struggle just to tune the darn thing after all these years .... I think somebody knocked the wheels off of me freight train?! Thanks for showing me what I AM supposed to be doing anyway Tommy!
@RONDOC68 Actually, Maton, the makers of the guitar, made it for Tommy when his old Maton was stolen. He then found that it was easier/better to play, sweeter tone, etc. So he took that as his main guitar, and semi-decommissioned his old Maton. As for the tuning, that happens with ANY guitar with new strings. Tommy puts new strings on his guitar every time he performs. Guitars go out of tune, that's what happens. You deal with it. :)
this is incredible this is what ive been trying to learn for months
And it's just that easy, Tommy! LOL! "Had Chet Atkins figured out at sixteen!" Well... there ya go! I would love to be able to play like Tommy!
