What I love so much about Julian Lage’s performances - and, as we all know, there is a heck of a lot to love! - is the genuine and pure joy he shares with everyone. It's incredible. What a treasure.
Modern interpretation of the classic blues! You could have an entire album or concert played like this - it's like it's own genre !!! This is just brilliant

I attended the Rotterdam show in April and it was really great. When they played this show they did a cacophonic bit that slowly but surely got back in track and it was one of the best things I've heard. Would love to hear it again, was kind of disappointed it wasn't in this video/studio version of the song, but oh well :)
Great ensemble! If Debussy or Ravel had wanted to bang out a blues, this is probably how they would have done it. Amazing musicianship. And the Piano Lady is just marvelous!
I feel like I hear a lot of hendrix-esque playing in the way that he never really plays the same thing twice and has so many original ideas. It's just all very clean and jazzed up! Gotta love it, a breeze of fresh musical air. :)

My favorite "jazz" guitarist of all time. thanks to my music teacher for pointing out your "Ryland" Collings advertisement as an example of how solo guitar chord-melody groove can be done right.
Julian kicks him leg up to signal the end of the tune. I don't know if he does that a lot but if he got that from playing in bluegrass jams that's pretty cool to see it incorporated in a jazz setting. Could be coincidental.
