    Man, I definitely felt ya when you said people will say, “Oh no, don’t open it! It will go down in value!,” because I use to be that way, and then I changed my opinion to what you said now that I’m older. “I bought this for myself. Of course I’m gonna open it!” 😂 Definitely me now! 😂
    I just realized that if I’m gonna buy it for myself to collect and enjoy, then I might as well open it and do just that. You can still get a decent amount of money back on your items, as long as you take care of them and still try to keep them in good condition. That is just something more people could think about. Nice video and definitely enjoyed it! 😊 Especially you guys playing the SM games! 😄

      Thank you! If I was buying just with the intention to resell I would keep this stuff in packaging, but I'm buying for my own joy!

    I love all of your Vintage Sailor Moon goodies, Sailor Snubs!!!! Omg, I also got 2 VHS tapes of the first 4 episodes of Sailor Moon S from one of my good friends long ago back in 2018 and I love them so much!!! He totally surprised me one day with 2 of the same VHS and it made me so very happy to get one of the originals from the Sailor Moon OG Cloverway collection!!! I'm definitely going to start finding and collecting the VHS & DVD sets of Sailor Moon very soon starting with the Viz Media version and get the OG English Dub sets from the DiC & Cloverway series.

    I didn’t know you grew up in Missouri, I did too! Used to find sailor moon cards behind the counter at a store called Hastings, even the workers didn’t know they were there half the time lol 😂

      Hahaha no way! Yes me and my friend from the last video would drive down to Springfield MO (an hour away from our hometown) to go to the nearest comic book shop. It was hard being a moonie back then!

    great find with the memorial laserdiscs! these were released between 1998-1999 and do not contain actual episodes but compile the main story elements, introduce characters, and share interesting tid bits about the show in about an hour -- all through clips from the episodes. these are narrated by usagi and guest characters, and the discs also have special clips like showing all the monsters from the season, the trailers for each episode, and creditless openings/endings. the first season memorial even shows clips from sailor moon in other countries, including the original dic dub! while these are great to collect on their own, the best part are the trading cards -- you really lucked out getting all 45 included! these cards are high quality and full sets are rare/highly sought after. congrats!!

    I never got to Sailor Moon as a kid (was more into DBZ, Naruto, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc) but its legacy speaks for itself. BashWin told me to check out your channel and I love the vibes! Greetings from a new sub! Hopefully my gal and I can start watching SM soon :)

    11:44 PAL SNES Also Uses The Same Cartridge Shape (With Different Pins) And Console Design As Japan’s Super Famicom If You Didn’t Know.

      @SailorSnubs  4 месяца назад

      Yes I know! I might not have mentioned it in this video but the pins are the only difference, and to make it work on my american SNES id have to mess with those pins in some way. I haven't done all the research on this subject but that's basically what a friend told me

      That's not entirely true. There's are a couple that did come out in Europe. One of the side-scrolling beat 'em up SNES game did come out in France, simply titled "Sailor Moon" and mostly importantly there was the Italian exclusive Nintendo DS game, "Sailor Moon: La Luna Splende".

  • @Sokudoningyou

    I don't have a laserdisc player, but I love the art they had on them. I plan on trying to get it all on LD, though right now I just have the R movie and three karaoke LDs of the singles from the first, second, and third reasons that are also smaller than normal discs. There's also some DVD boxsets for the series in Japan that have these gorgeous translucent box covers but even for the Japanese aftermarket they're way too expensive for my blood.
    I think I mentioned that I have a lot of the games now too, including ones for systems I didn't even know existed, like the Bandai Playdia (which I had to find the system for to even play), the Sega Pico, and some bizarre system that only had like three or four actual "games." I will actually be showing them off at a game convention coming up, because I don't know how many fans have ever even seen most of these outside of emulation.
    The SNES hack to play Super Famicom games is easy, but it does mutilate the system. You can buy a Game Genie and plug that into the SNES, then put the Super Famicom game into that, and it should work. Or just buy an Analogue system, which I'm going to be using. HDMI!

    • @Sokudoningyou
      @Sokudoningyou 5 месяцев назад

      Also, those memorial LDs are all over the place in price, so getting them for decent pricing is a great deal. They were one a season, with season summaries and other stuff, from what I understand of them.

    At the risk of sounding like a nostalgic elitist.....something about the older merch just seems to hit different for me. Maybe because it was hard to find merch when I was a kid in the midwest and my parents would only buy so much for me.
    I too went on a buying spree recently for the old DIC/Pioneer DVDs, again I'm one of those that prefers the performance of the old dubs (not so much the translation differences).

    • @SailorSnubs
      @SailorSnubs  4 месяца назад +1

      For sure! I love the older dub but mad respect for the new dub staying true to the context of the actual story.
