No its not, some of us have young children watching the races, And when these drivers are disrespectful towards authorities and officials it teaches a young generation of young people not to accept rules and regulations. Its already evident in the state of the world right now. One has to teach your kids to win and lose graciously. If you as a parent don't understand what I mean then you don't deserve to raise children.
It's shocking that these people actually believe what kids hear at home are not what they are saying. Swearing is the least of concerns for F1 right now. What a joke.
Taking swearing out makes no sense. Dehumanizing the sport and the emotion of moments. Now a driver has to worry about his mouth instead of his driving.
so can drivers make they microphones private (only driver and team) and just keep they mouth shut when they are being interviews? or is that problem too
Thanks, an interesting point. As a native speaker, I feel we should have a standard we're proud of. I can understand "in the heat of the moment" comments, e g the driver/pits radio comments - perhaps they shouldn't be broadcast. I realise that I shouted out f*** when I slipped in snow last winter, that was certainly a "heat of the moment" comment. I don't normally swear. Many foreigners with good English, e g the Dutch, and Swedes, feel free to swear in English, whereas if it were their mother tongue they may not have sworn. So I agree with Toto Wolff.
This is absolutely ridiculous. We want the absolute heat of the emotion. It’s entertainment not Sunday church

"moral injury"...????
'oh no Mommy!! he used a bad word & its gonna make me cry!!' WTAF??
Geez, just stop the live broadcasting of driver comments. Why are they making this into a major issue?

or how about they just insert a ducks quack over the highly offending words so we all get a little chuckle...
🙄 😂

Political move by Toto, getting himself lined up for a possible career/business move.
