@@Elijah-Bravo Hello, middle eastern Zoroastrians (the start of all religious origins) spoke allegorically in ancient times which were then passed on in its travels by the Greeks. The Romans in that era were deceptive and they had knowledge of control and power. Most of the world today, especially the western world, still follow an old Roman Systematic Law in which the Romans used the Zoroastrian/Greek translated (Judeo) Christian Bible and the masses thought the Bible to be literal when they captured territories and converted the people. Jesus (jehosh'ua) first came from the tradition of the Mithra but were then passed on through the Torah and renamed by the Christians (Crestians). 'The Bible' in its entirety has a wealth of knowledge in it because of its speech in parables and allegories, symbols and numerology, which explains astrology, meditation, human bodily functions but most importantly the human mind. The Kingdom of God is within you. God is love. 'Neville Goddard' and 'Dr. Joseph Murphy' are one of a few people who have translated the Bibles allegories by an Ethiopian rabbi named 'Abdullah'.

@@davidhoxley9818 It really does. @@fourward27 Totally. You’d think the bass tone would suffer with such a thick guitar sound but it’s like my brain can completely separate the guitar and bass and hear them both perfectly. I think that’s were the secret sauce is, It’s in the individual mixes of the guitar layers.
I've always wanted to take a ride on a lowrider... to feel that how is it being jumped all the way long, however in Russia we don't have such opportunity due to absence of warm weather... unfair...
This song gives me deep, almost painful sense of nostalgia…even back in high school when this first came out, those clean breaks gave me a profound sense of vast, urban nostalgia. To get music nerdy, those guitar octave stabs during the chorus really pile on the emotion…the first time it’s a 9th, the second time it’s a major 7th. That vague lack of resolution sends your brain into a spiral of bygone uncertainty.
Still gets me all these years later when he asks why it has to be like this...fir a second you can hear acute pain in his voice, almost crying and despite whether or not you ever fit in this scene the moment is true emotion anyone can understand, still today.
Dissonance my friend. Dissonance and syncopation. Moody and unresolved build means there's a longing to go "home" sonically, but as the song progresses you realise that the "home" you want to go back to, the clean predictable chorus, has changed and won't be the same, especially after that middle eight.
@@RatelHBadger It’s funny because they *technically* resolve it each time but it doesn’t feel that way. The vague, dissonant harmony is just SO prominent, it’s the part that draws you in. I think the fact that the resolution is obscured by different octaves helps that effect, too. The higher octave stuff just feels desperate…like it’s trying to tell a greater truth that the power chords won’t reveal…
this band is awesome and one of a kind because there message is genuine and for real as GOD is at there core and thats what really matters in life and there blessing shine bright through there amazing music
Clearly. You haven't heard of many other bands like For Today, My Epic, Blindside, War of Ages, Phinehas... I could go on. There are plenty of bands that are bold in their faith! Try looking up bands on Facedown Records or most on Solid State Records. You're welcome ;)

this song was one of my dad’s favorite songs back in high school, he showed me this song today (i’ve heard it when i was younger) but i can’t get enough of it, i always have to replay it. wish music was still like this..
Been a fan since 2001 when I first heard the Satellite album. This music STILL holds up today and this is what I call real music, not like the mainstream stuff.
I first saw this Video on a Southern California Christian TV Channel. The show was called G-Rock. It was a show my Brother and I watched religiously. It was a show with music videos and action sports; Like Skateboarding, Snowboarding, Bmx, etc. This video was always a pleasure to see. We'd Mosh, and sing along. Those memories are priceless. Thanks POD!
Devonte Amie Once 2001-2002 hit with poseur shit like Nickelback and Seether that's when it got stale. I started listening to cool shit like The Strokes and Interpol at that point. But this stuff still rocked in it's time
This track came out my senior year in highschool. Making me 41 years old. 😂 Old man now! But I had the experience of being a teenager in the 90's. Yes. It was fucking EPIC
16-26 years old for me. 90s was all about the music. Saw so many live performances, met so many musicians, some famous, some not, even partied with a few.
The 90’s were fantastic. You could do anything you want. Party non stop. Nobody would get offended. Pick-up lines were a thing. Got away with everything. Had a fucking blast. Love this song too.
It’s funny because everyone thinks their generation was the last great generation but the 90s truly was the last great decade. 9/11, the internet, politics etc. ruined it all. About to be 40 this year and still rock this one 🤘
@@kim1570 But nowadays, POD is basically forgotten. When it comes down to who was the most memorable bands, people dismiss POD like they was an ok band which is absolute bullshit. What people don't even realize is that POD was one of the earliest to play Nu Metal, even before Korn...
@@j.m.1928 Yeah, the cool thing about p.o.d. is they had a lot of variety and influences like hardcore, metal, rap, and reggae. They don't get enough credit for their mix of styles, they were doing it early on.
Their music has helped me tremendously with so many things. They are the reason I found faith in God. Love what they have done. This is one of their top 5 songs for sure!
i only know three songs of P.O.D Youth of Nation Alive and Southtown. They earned the fame and wealth to live well-off. I personally thank the Atlanta Record to have audience get a chance to be exposed to maintain the glimpse of what Hybrid_Metal core CCM be like. Plus, again, the stage is the top of the game, folks hhhhh
I remember the night I first heard this song on the radio. The DJ announced, “New music from P.O.D...” and my excitement that a Christian band broke through and was being played on secular radio, I was thrilled! I was already familiar with their previous albums Snuff the Punk and BROWN, but this song gave me chills.
Back in highschool I use to make skate videos which included my crew of friends & fellow skaters. We're talking total DIY production. But for one reason or another kids at my school would buy em up. Anyway, the opening part was my best friend Chuck & he was so fucking adamant about having this song during his part. Truth be told, it was hands down the best part. The music and editing matched up so good. Crazy to think it's a little over 20 yrs since those simpler times.
"Why's it got to be like THIS!!!!" Watching videos of the sad state of this world and this song popped into my head. I forgot how badass P.O.D. actually was. This was always a song that I would blast when it came on driving around in my high-school days. Man, how did I forget about this amazing band?
whenever I go through dark times, POD will always let me know that if I make it back this time got to the hold whats mine and thank God that I made it alive
Who else is part of that generation? Teenagers in the late 90's with baggy pants and loose shirts haha, I spent every day watching MTV waiting and enjoying those videos: Limp Bizkit, POD, Paparoach, Linkin Park, Creed, and soon on.
I grew up in that Era. Granted I was listening to stuff most people my age weren't (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Cannibal Corpse, etc). This so g was a banger though. Unfortunately it was the only song I liked by POD.
heard this one live yesterday and BRUH...... their energy is wholesome, they interacted with the crowd until no one stood still. we sung the last chorus so vividly i thought it was a dream
I remember meeting P.O.D. at the Inside Out Soul Christian Music Festival many moons ago. Sonny was nice enough to call me at home a few weeks later to check in! :)
That abuelita making tortillas and the guy serving tacos on the street made me hungry. Lots of good vibes with this video and I like the family oriented atmosphere.
I was 11 years old when this dropped and I related to it instantly. I thought it was so cool that a band like this had a great message and believed what I believed. Pushing 28 now and I still feel the same way. God bless you P.O.D.

+Xnet 360 I know their music well. and we've misunderstood my last message. I have a deep relationship with god but I don't belive in religion. but they open doors that the average non believers would never have or know. that's what I meant

Dude that beggining riff is so powerful man. Makes me feel so many things I can’t even explain, it also like makes me reflect my entire life, so much power in just the sound made by a guitar! Love it man. Wish I could’ve been a teenager when this music was first coming out. Maybe then I would fit in with people who also like this.
Life isn't about fitting in. It's about being yourself. The older I get the more I don't care what others think. I've always just been me, if they're cool with it we can be friends. If not, they can stay away and not bring me down.

I would give like 10000 dollars just to make this kind of music popular again...a part of our culture again.

When sonny says "life doesnt have to be like this ", I feel that.
I just don't comprehend how this song does not have a bajillion zillion views, such a banger back then and to this day!
I heard this song and realized christian music could be awesome.
man growing up in San Diego with Surfers bikers rockers lowriders man that was the life
Must've been awesome

I'll be there... No wonder the 90'd were so great. when it comes to the 2000's there's no way to grip the audience.
I've always wanted to take a ride on a lowrider... to feel that how is it being jumped all the way long, however in Russia we don't have such opportunity due to absence of warm weather... unfair...
Yup 🖤
One of POD best songs 🎵 I'm 57 and I still love them, my kids grow up listening this band
Man this song is still SOOO fresh. Just incredible😤 rappers these days wish they could rock this steez
Bro I love this explanation because I feel exactly the same way. I was in high school when this video dropped. Everyone had this album
It was a cultural reset.
@@RatelHBadger
It’s funny because they *technically* resolve it each time but it doesn’t feel that way. The vague, dissonant harmony is just SO prominent, it’s the part that draws you in. I think the fact that the resolution is obscured by different octaves helps that effect, too. The higher octave stuff just feels desperate…like it’s trying to tell a greater truth that the power chords won’t reveal…
This song meant Soo much to me a teenager being a kid from the hood I always wanted to hear a rock song about the struggle
this band is awesome and one of a kind because there message is genuine and for real as GOD is at there core and thats what really matters in life and there blessing shine bright through there amazing music
Clearly. You haven't heard of many other bands like For Today, My Epic, Blindside, War of Ages, Phinehas... I could go on. There are plenty of bands that are bold in their faith! Try looking up bands on Facedown Records or most on Solid State Records. You're welcome ;)
Every time I play this song I have to replay it one more time like I just didn't get enough still jamming 2021
2020's Decade; Welcome to hard times !

Yeah, hard to turn this one off. It's so good.
This song is one that requires double-taps for sure lol been that way since I first heard it in high school

Don't forget Sonny reppin No Innocent Victim
This song really helped me get through alot man.. brings tears to my eyes everytime I hear it. 2020 here we come.
Same. As a young teenager, I can't tell you how many times this song helped me get through some really messed up shit. When I was about to break, this was one of the songs I could listen to and allow myself to angry cry myself into a more calm mood
You mean run World peace

What an era for music, and may not have lasted long but this genre still holds so much nostalgia for me.

I looking at this in the 2nd quarter of 2024 and I think it's the first time I've heard this song since I was a college student, so this is going back some years. This song still goes hard!
this song is so underrated heck this whole band is underrated
Praise God still feeling this after so many years. Thanks for the positive memories.

@J You must be great at parties.
I hear you bro praise God!
J C I don’t think God butters his toast that way if ya know what I mean
this song was one of my dad’s favorite songs back in high school, he showed me this song today (i’ve heard it when i was younger) but i can’t get enough of it, i always have to replay it. wish music was still like this..
One of the best POD songs ever. The video is amazing!
Over 20 years ago, I heard this for the first time. I still hear it the way I heard it back then, FULL VOLUME
Thanks POD!
It was the year 2000. We made it through the Y2K fiasco and yet the world haven't imploded. A summer of great music. Nu metal was finally mainstream.
Lol I was just thinking about this song
Devonte Amie Once 2001-2002 hit with poseur shit like Nickelback and Seether that's when it got stale. I started listening to cool shit like The Strokes and Interpol at that point. But this stuff still rocked in it's time
you cant say poser shit like nickelback and then mention the strokes and interpol
Summer 2000 was the best summer of my adolescence. 🤘🤙
Spoken like a true genius
This track came out my senior year in highschool. Making me 41 years old. 😂 Old man now! But I had the experience of being a teenager in the 90's.
Yes. It was fucking EPIC
I wish I could’ve experienced being a teen in the 90s. Being a teen in this generation isn’t fun
Agreed 😁
16-26 years old for me.
90s was all about the music.
Saw so many live performances, met so many musicians, some famous, some not, even partied with a few.
The 90’s were fantastic. You could do anything you want. Party non stop. Nobody would get offended. Pick-up lines were a thing. Got away with everything. Had a fucking blast. Love this song too.
It’s funny because everyone thinks their generation was the last great generation but the 90s truly was the last great decade. 9/11, the internet, politics etc. ruined it all. About to be 40 this year and still rock this one 🤘
Pod was underrated they forever rock
No they weren't. People knew they were the shit and they were very popular.

To this day this is probably the rawest video they have. Sheeesh. Just seeing everyone sing it word for word. Speaks crazy volumes
Their music has helped me tremendously with so many things. They are the reason I found faith in God. Love what they have done. This is one of their top 5 songs for sure!
+dhyatt95 Welcome to the family!
God is the reason you found faith in God.
i only know three songs of P.O.D
Youth of Nation
Alive
and Southtown.
They earned the fame and wealth
to live well-off.
I personally thank the Atlanta Record
to have audience get a chance to
be exposed to maintain the glimpse of what Hybrid_Metal core CCM be like.
"Why's it got to be like THIS!!!!"
Watching videos of the sad state of this world and this song popped into my head.
Still rocking this at 33yrs old. First heard you guys at 14-16yrs old. Thanks for all the hits!
same man, 33 and just hearing this again in over a decade. Not ever gonna go that long without listening again. Now its an EDC song for me lol
Who else is part of that generation? Teenagers in the late 90's with baggy pants and loose shirts haha, I spent every day watching MTV waiting and enjoying those videos: Limp Bizkit, POD, Paparoach, Linkin Park, Creed, and soon on.
Creed is a shit
You ain't alone bro.
I was an 80s generation teenager born in 71 loved when I discovered these guys still blast them
I grew up in that Era. Granted I was listening to stuff most people my age weren't (In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Cannibal Corpse, etc). This so g was a banger though. Unfortunately it was the only song I liked by POD.
Me and my Solo pants lol.
heard this one live yesterday and BRUH...... their energy is wholesome, they interacted with the crowd until no one stood still. we sung the last chorus so vividly i thought it was a dream
This song brings back a lot of memories of Senior Year in highschool
I remember meeting P.O.D. at the Inside Out Soul Christian Music Festival many moons ago. Sonny was nice enough to call me at home a few weeks later to check in! :)
God I remember when this came on MTV. Had to be 13. God I miss the 2000
That abuelita making tortillas and the guy serving tacos on the street made me hungry.
Lots of good vibes with this video and I like the family oriented atmosphere.
I was 11 years old when this dropped and I related to it instantly. I thought it was so cool that a band like this had a great message and believed what I believed. Pushing 28 now and I still feel the same way. God bless you P.O.D.
This band always makes me cry inside with happiness . so much feelings in each song . . Love this guys!My favorite band of all time

This song........ it never gets old. 90s rock at it's best.
Still an amazing song, amazing band. Absolutely staggering live show. Im 38 and this hits just as hard now as then. Music for the soul that doesnt know how not to scream.
Man this song brings back so many high school memories.
Oh man the 90s!!!!!! Glad I lived through this time of amazing music. I remember when this came out!!

Here I am, listening like it's the first time.
At 56, I must say that this song clicked with me in my 40s. My kids were in their 20s but this was not their kind of music. It got me through a dark time. The heavy hitting guitar helped a lot.
It's so amazing that so many memories and feelings arise with this song . Listening in my headphones as a kid with my skateboard and now in my 30s drivng around with my kids at the back seat... The energy remains the same ! Thanks for the music guys!
