Great video and good looking 08. I have had mine for 9 years and really like it. Knock on wood no problems either. I left the stock muffler and tip which until your video I alwas thought the axle dump wasn't for me. I may have to mimic your exhaust... I really liked it.

Being from Michigan and hearing you say “he got it from a contractor who was a foreman” brought back too many memories of how much my foreman didn’t do shit lol. I own a 6.4 too, just rolled over 241,000 miles. Not nearly as clean as yours but she truckin
Lol most foreman’s really don’t do shit. I love my 6.4 man, there’s just something about it that I like more than my 6.7s
6.4 are good looking trucks, just bulletproof those engine internals.

dyna880 no I’ve done everything myself to my trucks and thankfully I haven’t had any major issues above what I know how to fix.

Love the truck unfortunately you can't get any part support if it has a failure . My truck is 08 full delete mishimoto rad oil and coolant bypass filter fast as hell h and s tuner 140k still replace fluids at 5 k just watch your e g t s
Hey man, great video, I’m about to pick up a 6.4 of my own! I’m planning to do a dpf delete, I’m curious how you get passed emissions tests? I’ve heard some people keep the dpf and put it back on for the test. Curious to see if there is a different way?
I’m in Michigan so we don’t have any emission tests or anything like that so my 6.4 and both my 6.7s are fully deleted with this issues

David Holmes let me say, love my truck and love the power. But.... I just lost the motor. Good news, choate engineering makes great motors and I just put a new one in. Hope it last, love the truck but can be a money pit. I had a cracked head and a piston at 195k miles. DPF and efr are deleted. I think the early days of the truck make all the difference. Mainly check blow by when buying and you will be ok. Mine was bad near the end.
Nice rig brother! I got an 09 ccsb dark blue metallic rolling on 20x12 black Ultra Predator II’s stock height with 305/55/20 Falkens. Also got the color matched ARE Pap Cap lol. I like the look of the cap because It keeps my tools dry. Gonna upgrade to a PMF 3-link kit and 6” lift. Still deciding on the best shocks in the middle of the price spectrum. What would you recommend for shocks (middle of the price/comfort range)?
Nice! I would go with blisteins, that’s what a lot of guys run and they aren’t too crazy expensive

Have you had any engine issues with your truck ? I’m looking to purchase a f350 2008 w/ 133k miles they have replaced the head studs & casted heads , new rockers it is tuned and deleted. Thanks I’d appreciate your feedback
I haven’t had any issues with mine, I just rolled 210k and it’s been flawless.. the one you’re looking at seems like a good buy if they did head studs and everything. Mines been great but literally every other person I know with one has blown it up but that’s without head studs and different heads, they were all just tuned and deleted

I’m thinking about buying a 2008 6.4 with 95k miles on it... it’s a one owner and has been garage kept. It’s 100% stock other than a bull bar. I know that 6.4s have an awful reputation and that I’d have to delete the egr and dpf, bulletproof it, and I’d most likely tune it, but after all of that, do you think it’d be a fairly reliable truck?
I would think so man but I think they are luck of the draw .. mines tuned and deleted and I just rolled 210k the other day and I’ve beat on it a decent amount and it’s been great but all my buddies with them have had problems.. but it all depends on who maintained them from when they were new, you never know if you’re getting one that was beat on.. sounds like the one you’re looking at would be a good buy!
I just bought a 6.4 I’m aware of all the issues I’m just wondering how it’s been for you whats broke on it over the year and how reliable is it for you?
I’ve had it for 7 years and never had an issue .. I had to replace a tensioner pulley but that’s it outside of normal wear and tear parts

People always have something bad to say about them but I seriously love mine. I love my 6.7s too but something about that 6.4 is just so awesome to me
What’s the offset on these wheels and any spacers? Any rub or trimming? Looking to run something similar. Thanks
I believe it’s -76 offset .. no spacers and it does rub a little at full lock on the inner fender if you hit a little bump but I never cut anything
How reliable has your truck been? The 6.4 is my dream truck just so many people bash them.
I honestly haven’t had any issues with mine and it’s got 207k on it.. I bought it with 127k .. everyone else I know with one has had issues tho lol so maybe I just got lucky . If I was you I would get an older 6.7 .. it’s definitely a much better platform
@@abomb112 My thing with the 6.7 is the truck is ugly as hell. Those lights and grill look terrible. There's also not good tuning available for them right now with this EPA nazi shit. I can still find tuning for the 6.4 if I look hard enough.
I just got my 6.7 last September and didn’t have any issues at all .. I do love the 6.4 look it’s definitely unique .. I love them both but they both have their pros and cons .. I have an H&S on my 6.4

If you have the money to fix it get one. Love the trucks. Had to put a motor in mine two weeks ago!!
Quick question - Do you have a lot of play in the steering wheel? I’ve test drove 2 already and the “play “ is crazy. I’m not used to it, since I currently have a 16 f150 5.0. The steering is tight and what not, but just the F-250 is completely different. Did you have to fix it? Or?
Daniel Manzanares If it’s lifted most times it’s the pitman arm, tie rods or ball joints. On my 7.3 I was getting death wobbles and loose steering. Torqued my pitman arm down and it took care of that.
Yea the steering won’t be as tight as an f150 if it’s a used truck .. I replaced pretty much every front end part on my truck and it got a lot better but it’s still not perfect .. I even got a new steering gear box. I would just replace all the tie rods and ball joints and check the joint in the drag link cause that could be worn out and cause play as well
I think the heavy duty trucks just have looser/easier power steering to begin with too which makes it seem kinda sloppy compared to a much tighter steering in the light duty trucks.
Daniel Manzanares mine was loose also. Change tie rods, joints, steer box. Still not perfect either.
It’s not twin turbos. It’s a sequential turbo setup.

I think they are good motors cause mines ran perfect but I think peoples biggest problems is they always run them on their hot tune. If you just tune and delete it and drive it normal then you shouldn’t have as many issues

SixSix Motorsports I like seeing 6.4s getting some good miles without studs. My buddy got 220k out of his without them. But he got rid of the truck
