  • This is how I smoke ribs on a gas grill using a smoketube!
    1. We started by taking our ribs out of the packaging and patting them dry with a paper towel.
    2. We then went ahead and removed the membrane on the back using a butter knife and paper towel.
    3. To trim the ribs, we cut a bone off of each end of the rack and cut off any excess fat.
    4. We then rubbed them down with some mustard as a binder and seasoned them up with some 16 mesh black pepper and #heathrilesbbq Competition Rub.
    5. While our seasoning was adhering to our ribs we filled up our smoketube with pellets and got that lit. We also turned on the grill using only 1 burner on low-medium and added an aluminum tray for a water pan.
    6. Once our grill was heated up to 275° we put our ribs on along with the smoketube and closed it down and let them cook.
    7. After 1.5 hours we rotated the ribs so that the opposite side was towards the burner that was on.
    8. After 2.5 hours they reached an internal temperature of 165° so we took them off and wrapped them up with parkay butter, honey and brown sugar and put them back on the grill.
    9. After another hour they reached an internal temp of 208° and were probe tender so we took them off, unwrapped them and added a little more seasoning on top to tack up the bark and placed them back on the grill for another 15-20 minutes.
    10. When the bark looked good, we took them off let them rest and then sliced into them.
